| December Acticity Checks! |
[Dec. 31st, 2008|03:08 pm] |
With the busy holiday season just now ending and the community coming off of a two month hiatus with no activity checks, the mods have decided to perform the check for December on Monday, January 4th, noon EST. This coming up weekend is the first free weekend that many have had since the holidays have started and we wanted to give everyone a good chance to get caught up and also to remind you about getting something posted since it's been a while since we have done any activity checks.
Monday, January 5th at noon EST, we will be doing a full clean-up of all muses that have not posted and commented to posts for the months of November or December. In order to still be considered current, you will need to have commented to the November or December topic post with your topic response or completed RP thread.
The topics for January will most likely go up sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
Thanks so much for writing with us and have a Happy New Year!!

We're posting November's topics early for anyone who wants to get a jump on their muse topics since Nanowrimo is just around the corner. Your mods will be participating in Nano this month, and after discussion have decided that there will be no activity check for the months of OCTOBER and NOVEMBER. This is so that no writer feels the need to have to take a hiatus for the purpose of nano. Our hiatus policy has always stated that if you're on hiatus you can not rp during that time. Nano can be very stressful and sometimes you want to just blow off steam with a random topic or rp, and this way everyone can feel free to do that without the pressure of activity checks looming over them. If you're not participating in Nano you can consider this a freebie month anyway.
The next activity check will be on JANUARY 1st. If you have not completed a topic in November or December you will be removed. That basically means that if you are a member now you have from now until December 31st to have one topic completed. We will resume our regular scheduled activity checks beginning January 1st.

Also, a reminder all challenges are due on the first of the month at 12am (midnight) EASTERN time and must be 150 words minimum to count for monthly activity. There will be an activity check on October 1st. If you have not completed a topic for your muse in August or September you need to do so before October 1st. There will be an activity check on November 1st. If you have not completed a topic or rp for your muse for September or October then you need to do so before November 1st. There will be NO activity check on December 1st.
Our suggestion is if you haven't posted for August that you put your activity links in the September post. As always any topic can be used for any month's activity. Anyone who has topics or rp links in September/October posts will be covered until the January 1st activity check.

| Activity check notice: PLEASE READ |
[Aug. 29th, 2008|11:05 pm] |
Okay on the 1st was supposed to be our first activity check since we changed the rules to every two months participation and allowing completed rp threads to count for activity. Us mods have always worked on a 'what's fair for us is fair for everyone' policy. I have been very sick and struggling with weather related issues for most of this month. Which has put several members in a position of waiting for me to finish threads so they could count toward activity. As there is no way that I'm going to be able to finish those in time I've spoken with the co-mods about extending this month's activity check. There are a few members who haven't gotten their prompts done yet, and we totally understand. After all, hi, I'm behind too. Add in the fact this is the first month of our new policy and things are a bit confusing to get used too.
So! What this means is that the activity check for August will be on September 15th! If you have no posted since June, then you have until the 15th of September to finish up those rp threads or post a topic. Make sure you post it in AUGUST'S post, not September's because that is the month you need to post for. On October 1st we will go back to the monthly checks. That means if you have not posted since July you have until October 1st to post in September's post. We want to thank all of you for being such awesome members, and we're looking forward to seeing your prompts and threading with you.
Ashy on behalf of the AU mods. |

| August topics with an important rule change announcement |
[Jul. 25th, 2008|11:07 am] |
IT IS IMPORTANT YOU READ THE FOLLOWING:
The mods of aumuses have discussed ways to make writing more enjoyable at this community. We have decided to change a couple of the rules that we feel will benefit and inspire our members. Effective this month (July since we're posting early) the following rule changes have been made:
1. The activity requirement for aumuses is now every two months rather than every month. If you have not written a topic for July and choose not to write one for July you have until the first of September to submit a topic. If you have submitted a topic for July you have until the first of October to submit your next topic.
2. Roleplay will now be counted toward activity. If you complete an rp thread between two or more muses each muse can use this toward the activity requirement. We will only be counting completed rp threads so let's go by the honor system here okay? All you have to do is comment in the monthly topic post with the link of the completed thread. Each muse who wishes to use that thread may comment with the link.
We hope that you find these changes fun and creatively inspirational. It really is a pleasure to have each and every one of you as a member of this comm. The mods look forward to continuing writing with each of you.
Just a reminder that all previous topics are always available to be used for any muse as long as they haven't used it before. You just comment to this post with the link to the prompt after you write it. As always remember to comment here with your July prompt link and add it to your memories. Also, a reminder all challenges are due on the first of the month at 12am (midnight) EASTERN time and must be 150 words minimum to count for monthly activity.
