Current mood: | pouty |
Pete was not happy. First, Myka and him had been sent to the frozen tundra, while John and Cait got to go to Miami. In his eyes, it wasn't fair. He knew Spanish. Well, some. Enough to ask for a class of water, and claim his innocence if he were ever to get arrested in Mexico. And Myka was smart. She had to know Spanish. After all, she spoke French when they went to Paris to get the blade. Spanish was easier to learn so they should have went to Miami.
But the crankiness didn't end there. John and Cait just had to keep twisting the knife by telling Myka he was complaining about his ears getting cold. Before he knew it, Myka had him bundled up in a scarf and knit cap. He wanted to be mad at her, but he couldn't do it. She was just too beautiful with her cheeks rosy from the cold air. Plus, he loved her too much to ever really be mad at her so he had sucked it up and even let her take a picture of him. Pete knew he was going to get teased when they got back but for Myka, he would endure it.
When Artie called, and told them the artifact had been found and to enjoy their evening, Pete started to pout. Minneapolis wasn't that far from the Badlands of South Dakota. They could have drove it. But Artie had insisted they stay, saying John and Cait suggested he give them a night off.
He was going to kill them.
As they stepped into their hotel room, Pete took off his hat and scarf. Looking over at Myka, he pouted a little before sitting down on the edge of the bed. "This isn't fair," he said, sounding more like a child than a grown man.
Pete let out a dramatic sigh and looked around the room. Just then, a pamphlet on the bedside table caught his eye so he picked it up. It was for the Mall of America. He wrinkled his nose a bit and opened it, thinking he wouldn't be interested in going to a mall. Pete wasn't one for shopping but when he saw what the mall had, a grin spread over his face. "That have cool stuff at this mall! A flight simulator, NASCAR Silicon Valley and a Lego store!" he said as he waved it around. "Can we go?"
