intro: brielle leblanc
HI EVERYONE! I cannot tell you how excited I am to (finally) be here after months of holds and concepts. Well, I should probably start out by saying who I am: I'm Ruby, 23, living in Southern California (today, we're hitting the 80s in temperature) and I can be found at DARETOCHASE via aim or @gmail.com, as well as [info]despoir.

I have Itkal, a third generation Nephilim, but you'd know her as Brielle LeBlanc, formerly known as Anastaise LeNoir for the past two hundred years or so. Unlike the badass first-gen Nephilims, her powers are a bit more diluted and she'll probably die of old age before they do, but that's just a random tidbit, there are more of those in her journal!

What's different about Brielle is that she doesn't hold the same grudge against THE HEAVENS ABOVE!! as other Nephilim's do. She whole heartedly believes that God still has a purpose for them (Nephilim's), nevermind that her grandfather was killed for being one. She sees herself more angel than human and takes a rather fascinated approach toward them, 'collecting' particular humans to protect and look over, but also as companions because she hates to be alone. She studies magic, mostly in the form of potions, healing and shielding spells, and ways to block her angelic/Nephilim blood. Currently, she's living in the London Nephilim Safehouse.

OVERALL, Brielle is a friendly presence to humans, an innocent curious kitten to fellow Nephilims and also angels (though this is something to be discussed as, you know, they might want to kill her), and a good addition to any person or being as a friend. She may be naive but she's not stupid, and note that she could probably still crush your bones if she really wanted to.

Sorry, this got so long! I'd love any sort of plot and backstory and.. just help in general. It's kind of intimidating to be part of such an amazing game but everyone has been so very helpful! Now I'm off to prepare myself for this PLOT O' DOOM.

Hi, hello, welcome aboard. I'm Dora (don't mind the CDJ; it's what works at work), and first off I'd say that you are v. much encouraged to hop on board the game-plot train, as it is only just preparing to leave the station. I know Gates has a lot of information to digest, but the recent mod posts in the OOC comm sum things up pretty fairly, and you can always browse the comments to see if there's anything you'd like to be involved in. I'm biased, but I think our player-base is pretty damn amazing, and they are pretty universally happy to include people in plot (shiny-new people are especially tasty, I am told). Some of the plot options we've got going right now is letting luck decide your fate. Specifically, if you'd want Brielle to experience a nightmare or a fantasy, and what level of injury she might potentially take. You're by no means required to go that route, but I think it's kind of added a level of fun chance to things.

OKAY AND SO NOW THAT MY MOD BABBLING IS DONE. ...I'm at work and need to wrap this up. -_- Shall be back to give you the full roster later this evening, but! When I read Brielle's app, of all my characters, the first one which sprang to mind was Vaughn Wagner ([info]playingdoctor). He is a fairly comprehensive asshole, a truly miserable human being, but I noticed that your girl leans toward healing, and that is Vaughn's ~*special snowflake skill*~. He would not necessarily be nice to her at first (possibly ever), but throwing them together and seeing what sticks seems fun. Or lulzy. And maybe her great-uncles can be all stompy-stomp protective or sommat.

Hi Dora! I'll definitely take a closer look at nightmare/fantasy/injuries!

Ah, yes, the discouraged lonely healing man which Brielle is sure just needs a bit of motivation and company! His jerkish ways will only make her even more sure of herself that he shouldn't be alone, and pushing her away definitely won't help his cause. Black and White can most definitely be stompy-stomp if they so wish!

Oh, god. That is such a wonderful and horrible description of Vaughn; he is horrified and I am laughing. Awesome. AND THUS BEGAN THE LULZ.

*waves* I'm Nell, I have Penemue (Owen Penn) who was a Grigori (the angels charged to watch over man, fathers of the Nephilim). I don't know if he'll actually be aware of Brielle or not though; he knows Ohya and Ahya because he held them as babies, but a third generation he wouldn't be as aware of? Penemue spent seventy generations, sequestered in silent contemplation of his actions before being called to sing the Glory of God. He was sent to Earth in 1951 to redeem his place in Heaven by beginning his watch again (this time without taking or making things for himself; now it has to be all for God). His intentions are always good but once his ideas are adopted by man, they often get twisted in ways Penn never intended (the internet was meant to be used to join all faiths to glorify God's love, what a failure that's been). Anywhoo, do-gooder angel who tries to overcome the failings of his human heart. Likely someone who can get to know her as the game goes on?

Hi Nell! ooo a Grigori! Yeah, he definitely sounds like someone Brielle would be so fascinated to meet. She wants to hug him ): But she should.. probably be afraid of him?, I'm not too sure about how the Nephilims should feel toward angels and especially a Grigori.

So far I don't think they're afraid or have any need to be, at least in regards to Penn. He had two children and a wife himself, but his son killed them both before being killed, and so it's kind of a painful topic. The other neph are more like "Uncle!" and though I imagine that if they start acting up and drawing attention, God will smite them again, last time the Grigori were made to watch as Michael set them against their own hands. I think in terms of word getting to God, the other angels would be more dangerous - Penn has about as tense a relaionship with Him as an angel can without breaking his tether, so it's not as though they chat much.

Also, he's usually pretty damned subtle/secretive about who/what he is. A member of the Heavenly host would recognize him, or a demon could spot what he is, but humans see nothing or a shadow or a boring, plain sort of man unless he's focusing on them; I don't know where on this scale a 3rd gen neph would fall?

Sup, Ruby! This is Loren, and I have two characters here. This journal is Dr. Jacques Nicolson, whom I believe you might recognize from Warsongs? He's still a mopey vampire, and since he's old-school French-Canadian, he's spent a lot of time in the motherland, where maybe their paths have crossed? He was kind of a big deal Parisian stage actor in the late 1800s/early 1900s, if she was ever into that. As a creature of the dark, they might not have much to do with each other. And at [info]justbelieves, I have Elder Young, who is a bright-eyed Mormon missionary straight out of Provo. He loves God, loves angels, etc., and also has the ability to make people believe whatever he says, though he doesn't know it yet.

Hi Loren!! Oooh, it would be fun if they did formerly cross paths.. would they both be able to kinda pick up who each other is? And whoa, Elder Young kinda sounds amazing and that's a pretty badass power. Brielle loves you too (':

I don't think Jacques would, or if he did, he wouldn't care beyond "If you have to stake me, make it quick."

It is a really awkward power for a Mormon to have. I don't think it would work on Brielle if they ever met, but he'd still think she was the bee's knees, probably.

Hi Ruby! I'm Tiff, and I've got two housed here, flapping their arms about and trying to get their wings (because I'm relatively new as well). This one here is someone Brielle might be interested in: Sachiel, though in this lifetime he goes by Absalom Brown, a mere pub proprieter, though he's truly a fantastic little angel thing that goes around judging people's hearts and is the good cop to his partner's bad cop (a bad cop who will be in game very soon)! To explain, Sachiel is responsible for being one of two angels responsible for judging the contents of a person's heart and so he has a rather weighty responsibility for an angel who has spent the past five hundred years on Earth simply observing and delighting in human shenanigans. I glanced through Brielle's application, and I think Brielle and Sachiel would get along very well! He would encourage her delving into her angelic past; he's the least judgmental angel around, I think, and if you like, he could be the angel she follows around and is *__* about, and she might even want to eventually work at his pub, because the idea of an angelic pub sort of delights me.

I also has Yoshinori Watanabe, who is a Market Merchant, both a vital player in the London Market and the Asian Market -- his wife is from a prominent Chinese Merchant family, they have kids, he's a secretly cutthroat bastard who plays at being this sort of family man (which he is, honestly, but he capitalizes on it to be unsuspecting) because he wants power -- for his family's sake, of course. His niece is Marion ([info]marionnette) who is a djinn and he is very fond of her and considers her one of his own. I'm not sure how Brielle might know him, but I am always up for random encounters. ♥

Can't wait to play yaaay.

Hi Tiff! Yay another new player (:

Oooo that sounds fantastic! I'm trying to really figure out the angel/Nephilim relations.. Like, are they still trying to wipe them all out? What would be customary if they found out that she was a Nephilim? That question will probably also dictate if she would work at the Pub! I'd love that Brielle would follow him around *__*ing (it'd be interesting to see how Bad Cop takes this as well) and lol, if I'm correct, Black and White probably wouldn't like that too much. BUT OMG ANGELIC PUB SOUNDS SO FUN!

Well, Brielle goes to the market (how exactly, I'll need to iron out the details for) so I'm sure there will be a chance for random encounters. (:

I think that the idea (or the impression that I got) is that nephilim are definitely like... eightieth-tier compared to angels -- but also taking into account what Sachiel HAS of a personality, he's a pretty openminded individual so far as angels go and the breadth of his experience in the human world has made him pretty accepting of most things, though he will, of course, try to steer them towards the right and good. SO SACHIEL, AS AN INDIVIDUAL, WOULD LIKE HER AND TAKE PLEASURE IN HER EXISTENCE, though Black and White and BAD COP would PROBABLY not enjoy it, which is just like... awesome.

def!

Hello hello! I'm Ros, with the demon Gremory for all things fiendish & love-related. I dare say my lady would like nothing better than to play on Brielle's naivety (though at the moment with the plot of doom & Valentine's Day she's got plenty to keep her distracted from such things!). :D

Ruuuuuuuuubyyyyyy. HI. Gia here! So glad you (and Brielle!) are finally with us in this madhouse.

THESE ARE MY CHARACTERS (I took a page out of Julie's book, wut wut). Briefly:

Sam Black ([info]readywear) is the one that comes with InstaPlot for Itkal, since he is her great-uncle. He, uhm, is very curious, shall we say, with regards to her philosophy. Totally with her on the collecting of humans front, but he's really not okay with her "Heaven is gr8!" ideas. Watches out for her, whether she likes/knows it or not, because he fully believes one day her naivete is going to bite her in the ass.

Balthazar ([info]fervor) is a demon who would like nothing more than to feed her some demonic blood for funsies.

Q ([info]disintegrative) has no idea who she is & most likely doesn't give a crap, but Rainer ([info]ritual), my occultist of the necromancer persuasion, would probably find her an interesting little specimen indeed.
