Shit Gets Real
HELLO, HEATHENS. So, we have some plot for you, and it is big. As you may have noticed, Morden's 445th birthday is coming up, and he will be having a party!

THINGS TO KNOW:
- Morden is part of the Circus. Morden manipulates reality.
- Joss is part of the Circus. Joss warps dreams/reality.
- Arazia will be attending the party. Arazia amplifies existing magic.

Things are going to spiral out of control. Morden's shindig will be affecting not just party-goers, but all of London -- it will be a hedonistic orgy of chaos, and peoples' fantasies and nightmares will be coming to life. [Technical explanation: Morden will be giving the perception of dreams/nightmares coming to life. If multiple people believe that is reality, Joss's magic makes it so. Arazia causes that to spread across London. If you are aware that you're facing a hallucination/dream, that will weaken it but not necessarily defeat it.] So not only will this be a case of living nightmares causing damage across the city, but demons will be opportunistically wreaking havoc, vampires will be lashing out, Marion's own djinn abilities will potentially kick in for more (localized) confusion, and the Corinthian is going to start killing.

It's going to be bloody. People will be hurt, can very well lose their lives -- PCs and just regular mundanes across London.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:
- Chaos, chaos everywhere.
- This will be ongoing until the Market comes in and shuts things down by 'powering down' Arazia.
- The angels (JEGUDIEL, PENEMUE, SACHIEL -- I AM LOOKING AT YOU) will be able to wade in and take on demons.
- The Library is going to have so much damage control to perform. Not just trying to put out fires, but a long-lasting mess to clean up after the fact. Rome will doubtless send people in to help. (London Librarians may not like this.)
- ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Again: dreams, fantasies, nightmares. Ghosts could become corporeal. Danny will kick ass in Dumas's name. Jim will have so many superhero opportunities. Go big or go home, basically.

This thing can to escalate to unbelievable proportions, and we really want it to. So! I am posting this tonight in hopes that it gives everyone time to think. Morden's party does not occur until February 9, this coming Thursday. That gives us better part of a week to come up with what our characters will go through, but to further complicate it, we want folks to use this post for plotting purposes. Feel free to ask questions, talk things out -- feedback might give you new ideas and directions to run in! Also, because it will be bloody, we've set up a second post here. We'd like for everybody who's participating to post with a list of their characters -- tell us who's making it through unscathed, who's open to be injured, and who might be up for death. More details are available on the post itself, and comments are screened for the element of surprise.

Edit: For those of you signing up for injury, death or the scale between, we're dice-rolling to find out the severity for each character and then, so it stays secret, emailing you the outcomes. What we suggest you do is confab to find someone who can provide your smackdown or be unfortunate-victim-of-it, but keep the outcome between the two (or three!) of you for now; if you're going to write this up in some way. We're going to be pausing time so a week equates to three IC days, which gives people time to write logs etc, and then at the end, we'll be posting everyone's stats so that everyone has an idea of the outcomes. We suggest keeping it secret until you're done playing, to keep that element of surprise (death is a nasty little gift at the end of the period, etc).

So, stuff:

- Berith is going to be able to walk free from his containing circle in the basement of the Metropolitan, and will be leaving merry hell (Hell?) strewn across the city.
- Nina will be able to shake the wards which contain her, and will be turning Haven into something resembling Apocalypse Now.
- We have not yet decided how long this is going to last, so it can potentially be a lot of awfulness spread longer than just a few piddling hours. Consider that.

Upon further reflection...

Since there are a lot of potential variables here -- specifically, the possibility of a character experiencing a positive fantasy instead of a horrible nightmare -- I wanted to get everyone's opinions. Does everyone want to be master of their own destiny, or do we have anyone who'd rather leave it to chance and let the fates decide whether their character(s) will get a living dream or a living nightmare?

Honestly, I think either direction sounds equally great, so opinions would be excellent.

Chiming in here with a vote for letting the dice roll.

Haven's wards are tied to a contract between Nic Santoro and Em Andley; knock either one out of capacity and the wards go down; Market contracts are a bitch.

The closer you are to Joss, the more 'real' nightmares or fantasies will be; I don't know that killing her would shut it off, either. Knocking Arazia out will turn off the power supply to the amping-up, but Joss can do significant damage solo, so whilst Arazia might get knocked out a day in to the madness, those at the epicentre will still keep going.

Rome will start having a shitfit. The repercussions could mean being forced to face a panel explaining events, a Rome audit of the Library and the Library basically becoming Rome's bitch for a while (more than usual)

Short post because I am rushing!

-- Berith is just going to rampage around the city, starting around the Metropolitan but moving outward as swiftly as he can for maximum damage. Stabbing, biting (look you don't need fangs to bite people in the carotid), setting people against each other, he'll probably be fairly unsubtle. Hit me up if you want to encounter him or take a shot at stopping him!
-- Jegudiel will be heading straight for Haven to help with the demonic presence there, whip brandished, etc. She'll mainly be focused on beating Nina and/or Balthazar back, then controlling them, but protecting the Havenites is also high on her concern. Battle scene anyone?

Nolan's probably going to be curled up in a corner at the Hierophant, praying his demon friends don't decide to see if they can peel his face off. Arazia's going to be in the midst of the party, Marko I'm willing to throw at anyone, and Gideon with info to follow once I figure out the details.

Balthazar -- will be doing a little jig amidst a circle of frenzied humans, ripping out spines through throats, or both. BASICALLY. I am more than happy to point him Haven-ward to feed off the Nina!violence happening there because b'aww he can't resist the mayhem of a newly released demon/he can't resist pissing all over Gryff's things. Basically. Duking it out with the angels is a given too. Bring it, Jegs.

Q -- well, whether it's his dream or nightmare that he's living is irrelevant, because his abilities will be going haywire anyway. If someone wants to catch on and either harness it or piggyback it for funsies, let me know!

Black -- NOT SURE. Would the 50% angel offer some buffer against the influence, or would the 50% buckle to it? Hmmm. I can see him wanting to help out with some of the worst affected humans, though.

Rainer -- I basically want him to get laid. Violently.

Okay. My group and their fantasies and their nightmares and their squishy squishy spines.

Armand has fantasy which means he's going to be solid for a while. He'll offer Clyde a dance, try to call his Grandbaby ("I didn't abandon you, babygirl, I died"), and then lead the Library charge of Trainees. Which likely means telling a surplus of small fries they aren't ready to handle such and such while assuring the rest that they are.

Candy has Nightmares! So her first move will be hiding under her bed and waving a blunt object about unless someone recruits or collects her. Her powers could be very helpful but Candy is a selfish one at times.

Stella has fantasy but I don't know. She might wander about doing her Indiana Jones impression and getting into something nasty but I'm not sure. I'd like it if she were injured or incredible annoyed/frustrated when all was said and done.

Jim has fantasy so I will of course be using this to make his life even worse. He's stronger! Faster! He'll be rushing around trying to help as many people as he can, and not being scared, and hopefully something horrible will happen. At least something broken- be it dreams, innocence, or femurs.

Oh and then there's Nina and Ophelia! Ophelia will not be home then but if you leave your name, number, and time of call she'll get back to you as soon as possible. In the mean time Nina has a cat to murder and a Haven to desecrate in song. I am completely up for Angelic smack downs though in the event of an angel Nina is more likely to finish stabbing whoever in favor of high tailing it out. Because retreat is the better part of chaos.

Inspiration.

So, the way I'm thinking-- it'd be really fun (and also potentially a great cathartic growing-up exercise for Nives) if she experienced the Nightmare (which naturally is her own Natural ability going all Crapsack Midas again) but had someone (really, anyone) objectively explain to her what the fluffy is really going on and have her subsequently do her best to mind over matter the shit away and perhaps even try to help the Budding Superheroes (or even Librarians -gasp!-) in any way she might be able to.

Assuming this is kosher with the modlies?

How much power should I give to Penemue in this circumstance. I'm usually pretty reserved with powers because I don't like telling people no, my powers trump yours, feel the effects, succumb to my wants. I feel like this works with Penn, in that as a Grigori, he does a lot more observing and the occasional gentle steering adjustment, rather than battling.

But in this radical change of circumstance, yeah no, he's going to be putting people in check. And from Biblical history I feel like angels too would have the power (for humans at least) to metaphorically stick a finger in the brain and stir, as well? I think by nature and charge, he'll be somewhat more concerned with fixing humans and stopping the sources of these delusions, rather than fighting demons (not to say he couldn't/wouldn't, if presented with one). Is it too much of a stretch to say that he's powerful enough to right the mind of anyone he comes across (on an ooc volunteer basis), and would - if faced with the opportunity - be able to put one of the rabblerousers to rest? Probably not in an eternal death capacity, but casting them somewhere else or binding/shackling/confining them?

Also, he says NEPHILIM, he will be a Very Disappointed Dad if you cause massive devastation (again). :|

My results!

- John drew a fantasy (hello, Kit), but he also rolled the most severe injury short of death, so if anyone feels like venting their rage on Constantine (hello, the world!), please have at. I've been meaning to have him check in on Ophelia re: her wards for Nina and just failing miserably at that, so there's the possibility he too might touch down at Haven.
- Em drew a nightmare, and also rolled worst-injury-short-of-death. I... yeah. I don't know. Nightmare probably means being incommunicado across the board, shut down and shut out, and Haven falling on her head. Which is entirely doable in this case, really, so there's that. (I know Nina missed playtime with Vaughn and Em X-Mas before last, RM, so I am happy to contribute to Bohemian Rhapsody.)
- Lizzie drew a fantasy (single, childless, writing at the top of her game) and apparently is going to scrape by with little more than bruises. I know Saul is supposed to get whupped on by Berith, so depending on what works for whom, she could always invade the Met. Or, since I failed so hard the dream-log with Stella (I am so sorry what is my life), Lizzie's always available for ~*mystical convenience*~ there.
- Julia drew a fantasy -- I'm inclined to say she'll head for Merchant HQ amidst the chaos -- and apparently is getting banged up a bit, albeit not severely. Julie, if your game: maybe something to do with Marion?
- Liam drew a nightmare, and is due to get thrown around like a ragdoll. I could throw him in any direction, really, but wanted to see where Q and Toby are going to fall; maybe I could get in on anything going there?
- Vaughn drew a fantasy... which means his magic is not going to work. He will be a mundy until someone shakes him out of the dream (Jegudiel?), so everyone at Haven is going to be a bloody ruin up to that point. Once the magic does kick back in, however, any injury he takes will be a moot point, so consider him something to just throw at the wall if need be.

So:

Gryff drew 'fantasy' which means hullo telekinesis, nice to have you back. He also drew a low-level scale of injury; fucked up but not too fucked up and he'll be at Haven and trying to deal with Nina on the run & Balthazar's appearance with Jegudiel.

Eli drew 'nightmare' which for her means drowning in her own magic, feeding off other people's present/past/futures until she gets completely lost as to who she is or where she is. She also hits a fairly serious set of injuries, so anyone want to volunteer to maim the pretty occultist? >__>

Saul drew 'fantasy' which for him is a lot of women and some very good drugs, and also the kind of injury that gets closest to death (I am kind of thinking Berith got the best kind of revenge he could). I am assuming for 'all the girls' one sees 'The Gem' -- any volunteers to fuck the man up?

Joss is at the epicentre of the chaos, and drew a middle-ground '3'-- her fantasy/nightmare combination is irrelevant, as hi, she's living it. Someone needs to shut her down to turn off the amplified effect of the fantasy/nightmare thing, takers?

Toby drew nightmare in combination with 'as fucked up as you can get before dying', so I'm going to assume Q had a good deal to do with that. Julie, don't know where you're at with Temeluchus, I'm going to assume she'll be relying on 'Lucas' to babysit and deal with the aftermath?

Vivi drew fantasy and the world treating her as a chew-toy for a bit, so for Vivi it would be the equivalent of being happily in love and powered off -- I'm going to look at Zoe here and say 'what about Gideon?' but for shits & giggles, it could, really, be anyone that she's attached to. Any also volunteers to deal her a few blows or three?

Nic is getting nightmare/serious problems in tandem; his nightmare is losing control of the Market and it going absolutely haywire so for Vendors (hi Stella) and other Merchant folk (Yoshi, Marion) this is going to have the knock on effect of the equivalent of stalls being burned, charters being broken, London being in effect, trashed, Market-style. He's also getting fucked up beyond all measure (the dice, they did not love me) so, volunteers?

Sully gets fantasy and a three on the scale; his would be to be an acknowledged artist, with his sister extremely close so I would figure he'd set out looking for Talia in the chaos, might get caught up in the crazy?

Well, if anyone would like to get bitten by/try to stake/have an interview with a very sad vampire, here's your chance! Jacques drew fantasy, but his fantasy is really just being alone and having a really good mope, so it's not likely to change much for anyone.

Similarly, if anyone would like to fuck a Mormon's shit up, now's the time! Elder Young's fantasy will probably have the same effect as him talking to a whoooooole lot of people, so I guess you can notice a lot more creepy, brainwashed converts. And he's also getting injured, so however I can make that happen.

Either way, I think Gremory will be a part of Team Bacchanal -- or, y'know, otherwise a Bacchanal of one! Wine, abandon, bloody footprints on the ground (I would not rule of an ivy "dress", or lack thereof). If you want tearing of limbs, or orgiastic dancing, she's your gal, depending!

okay, late-night spamming a go-go.

balthazar -- drew fantasy and isn't, ultimately, getting horribly mauled! he will start the night by letting the bloodstorm that is haven x factor as hosted by nina draw him in. i'd love for him to snarl a little bit at jugs, but since he's pretty much walking away scott-free health-wise, he'll probably bid that part of the party adieu quickly!

q -- nightmare. wherein his destruction of shit hurts those precious few that he cares about (sup toby). + consequences of that. (+ toby finding out in absolutely the worst way possible about what he is and what he can do.) oh, and something involving the little thing he calls his SOUL, since he technically lost it in the card game.

black -- will pick some goddamn favourites to, uhm, cause mayhem with/protect? HIT ME UP IF THAT'S YOU. he's got nightmare, and that basically involves angels glaring in his/his brother's direction.

rainer -- fantasy, but he's getting his white ass handed to him pretty badly. his fantasy involves a lot of high octane magic and lots of dead people he can do what he wants with.

Okay.

Penemue will be trying to set everything right again. His primary concern as a Grigori is fixing humans. If anyone wants their delusions to cease (or a player wants them to OOC) they can stumble upon him and he will hold their head in his hands and clear their vision. It could possibly be a shock in that it would be clear this is not a human or magician at work, with the side effect of a huge flood of love, straight into their hearts.

Also, if you have someone who's godly/good/neutral who's injured but wants to live rather than move on up to Heaven or become a ghost, he's willing to heal to help reset the balance of his new-found community (and maybe skew it in the favor of God a wee bit *cough*).

If you have a less-than-good human who's in need of healing, Penemue will do it, but you'd have to sign a promise to spend a year exploring faith and the grace of God (specific religion not mandated), renouncing Satan and all demons. He would protect you if needed, guide you if needed. Essentially, he's after a little soul searching that he hopes would result in a voluntary relationship with a higher power (obvs, your choice, but the character would be compelled to study religion/attend services/pray). Not quite the level of protectorate/patron as Leo and Jegudiel, as Penemue's hope is to enlighten someone who is otherwise blinded (willfully or ignorantly) to the love God has for them. No more than two of these though, please?

HAHAHA LET IT BEGIN! >:D

Moving on, here's what's going on with Wren: after a coinflip, she's going to have a magically-induced, nightmarish hallucination. This, combined with injuries she'll suffer at some point during the plot, will cause her pyschometry to go batshit, and start to pass on the memories she's collected to people within proximity (think of it like that one scene in the Crow--"thirty hours of pain, all from her, all for you, rahhh").

Soo...volunteers for attackers/victims of psychometry gone awry? >:>

THE CORINTHIAN’S FANTASY: Being a real boy, oozing strength, ripping out eyes and gorging himself on them, and murdering pretty young men indiscriminately. As a living nightmare himself, he’s pretty immune to this mess and is going to go out and have fun. He’ll start at the party and work his way out.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: Fucking you up, as long as you’re male. Swatting you down if you try to hurt Nolan Thales (‘get your own human plaything!’).
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. People to fuck up.
  2. A CREEPY VISION-SHARING LOG WITH NOLAN.
  3. Maybe another encounter with Joss, since both of them are hulked out?
  4. Someone to temporarily stop him in his tracks by the end of the plot -- he’ll continue serial killing after this, his appetite only whetted, but he should probably be halted by some do-gooder during this.

MARION’S FANTASY: Being a full-fledged djinn. :) She’s probably going to be wholly unaware of what’s going on, simply slipping happily into her fantasy, embracing it wholeheartedly -- and causing extreme localised reality-altering chaos in her vicinity. Also, her daddy probably loves her in her fantasy, so she’ll be heading to the Iwakura household and altering shit like crazy. She’ll start at Market and possibly work her way out.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: Chaos, and a slight alternative/addition to dreams: the details of reality slipping and changing around you. She could start indiscriminately accidentally granting wishes, unconsciously -- so, say that you’re trapped in a nightmare, but Marion suddenly injects something good that you want right into the middle of all this madness. Which might be worse than it not showing up at all.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. People to be trapped in her reality-altering storm! (Especially applicable to anyone around Market.)
  2. Nic/Julia time, and Marion helping hold the Market together with her fucking overpowered abilities. Possibly saving her master’s life.
  3. Clinging to Yoshi’s coattails once she starts getting too caught up in her own power.

MR. WHITE’S FANTASY: This won’t really affect anyone, but it’s the Nephilim being strong and powerful and independent, and their descendants not being sickly. And, scarily, the Watchers being free -- but even one escaped angry Watcher is probably too much Holy Shit to incorporate, I imagine, so I’ll just say that is manifests as an earthquake instead. The ground rips itself open and he idly hopes that Samyaza will just pop up out of it and say hullo... After that accidental destruction, though, he’s going to do a lot of helping out plucky courageous humans! Roaming the streets and trying to beat back the badness, etc.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: A vigilante half-angel punching things in the face and ripping nasty nightmare-beasts apart for you! He’s slightly more shielded from the dream effects than the rest, but not wholly.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Brotherly quality time!
  2. Mentioned elsewhere, but I would love to see Penemue summon them and plant the idea of ~behaving~.
  3. A random encounter with ANYONE EVER who needs help! Does anyone want a really fucking strong giant on their side and lending a hand or helping bail you out of trouble? Then look no further!

TEMELUCHUS’ FANTASY: This idiot doesn’t even know what he wants. His temporary fantasy will be being a full demon again, with wings (teleportation!!) and full powers and all, meaning that this old toothless dog will finally have some bite again. I imagine he’s going to kill an NPC demon (painfully) on some sort of revenge spree.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: Um. Not much in the way of random plot, alas, because he’ll be keeping his head down and trying to get out of this unscathed (which will fail miserably).
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Pissing contests with other demons! Either bouncing their newfound strengths against one another, or just trying to outdo one another -- this is the only time he’d be goaded into killing people.
1b. NINA AND TEMELUCHUS MESSING WITH EACH OTHER.
  2. Some time with Gabriel in the midst of all this!
  3. Someone to fuck him up, because he rolled as close to death as you can get -- which means his mortal vessel will be torn to shreds and he’ll have to repair it. Possibly Q is the one to rip him apart? Lis and I discussed a demonic, powered-up Temeluchus being the last thing Toby sees before passing out.
  4. An “oh hello, fancy meeting you here, my aren’t you busy” encounter with Jegudiel or Sachiel in the middle of all the chaos. He won’t be actively harming humans (what’s the point) and instead staying mostly neutral, so I could see them leaving him be.

CATHERINE GRYFFITHS’ NIGHTMARE: Losing her sensory powers & feeling disconnected from everyone. It sounds tame, but she’s spent most of her life with this additional sixth sense reminding her of how she fits into the grand human tapestry of existence, and she’s always been connected to an enormous family, then to an enormous institution with lots of coworkers. She’s always been a part of something. While the nightmare will be as if someone has taken those threads between her & humanity and neatly snipped them. Which will lead to an existential breakdown! I’d like to see her collapse, then get pieced back together by someone she knows (Lizzie? Gideon? Owen dissolving the nightmare?), then go forth and be a Responsible Librarian trying to help people.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: An electrokinetic Librarian being proactive and kicking ass!! She might go join the fray at Haven? And will probably be tagging along at Gideon’s side, because their powers work awesomely together.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Sisterly comfort! Brotherly bonding!
  2. Kicking ass with the Librarians! Armand giving pep talks! Catherine finally ~proving herself~ as a recruit!
    2b. METAL AND ELECTRICITY.
  3. Catwo, is Cian too busy to stop and rescue a damsel? Because this plot could also strike ‘Cian saving Catherine’s life’ off our to-do list.
  4. A random encounter in which she helps folk out! Cath needs to meet more people.

EDWARD BELVILLE’S NIGHTMARE: Hahaha. Belville’s nightmare is life: being mortal, married, and saddled with children. He led that existence for years, and he hates it. He’ll be snapping out of it, though, in order to go on a spree of VIOLENT BLOODY SAVAGERY in which he’s still a vampire but the sun, blissfully, does not affect him.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: A vampire for savaging, maiming, feeding, and killing! If you need injuries, I can supply.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Any woman to be trapped in his domestic nightmare as his wife, before he manages to shake himself out of it? Hi honey, I’m home; the pot roast is in the oven...
  2. Certain plot with Estelle. Hi, Catwo!
  3. Him and Berith trying to kill each other. Js.
  4. Following the orgiastic party around Gremory and Morden and co.
  5. Jacques time! Belville will be fucking sunbathing. And then feeding on people in public. And then sunbathing.

TALIA SULLIVAN’S NIGHTMARE: Some heady cocktail of being powerless, of wasting away from addiction, and being under the influence of someone else’s powers -- I’ll figure it out when we get there. She’s going to get pretty injured and try to make her way to her brother for finding solace.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: Um, a punching bag. She’s going to be pretty out of commission and not in any state to fight back with her powers.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Someone to injure her!
  2. Liam + Devon. DORA I AM RESPONDING TO YOUR EMAIL. I think the fucked up, dreamlike Liam/Devon stuff will take up the majority of her role in this plot, because tbh I can’t think of much else for her to do... Homegirl was already splintered to pieces with the Mormon thing, after all.
  3. Safe refuge with Sully.

DOMINIC MUNROE’S NIGHTMARE: Hahahahahaha. Dom’s worst nightmare is the exact life he already has, minus the silver lining that is his friends. So I can’t see things changing much?
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU: A do-gooder with insane strength/speed/agility and regenerative abilities who is going to help people so much so that it almost kills him. He will try to save your life!! He’ll probably be most involved at Haven, and then at Market if he gets summoned there.
WHAT I WANT/NEED:
  1. Someone to FUCK HIM UP. Because seriously, he is getting really injured and will be knocking at death’s door. I imagine this could happen while protecting someone else?
  2. I want to say that he’d try to protect Arazia in the midst of this, but let’s be honest: as soon as Alice becomes a real girl, he is peacing out and going to help his sister.
  3. On that note: ALICE. ALICE INTERACTION PLEASE.
  4. Haven and all Havenites, he will be with you for Nina :(
  5. Similarly, if he ends up at Market due to the nightmare tugging his Merchant obligations along: maybe he helps the vendors beat the chaos back?
  6. CASS. Catwo I just want more them.
  7. He’s on the docket for healing via Penemue, after all is said and done. It’s going to be awesome.

kadin castle's fantasy: oh so predictable - his family's acceptance and painless, consistent, useful, relevant visions that he can control instead of being controlled by. no more the weird snatches of time spent perceiving what a muscle cell would perceive if it could, oh no. for a brief snatch of time he shall be so useful he won't even know himself.
what i can offer you: visions to order! the little squishy who could - he rolled incredibly low on injuries, but this is cass so i'm assuming he hooks up with someone or a succession of someones who can more or less protect him while he helps them protect themselves/others.
what i want/need:
1. the aforementioned heavier hitters who can keep my fragile ickle mortal from getting squashed, chomped, steamrollered or disassembled.
2. people/events he has visions about! because what fun temporary overpowering if i don't use it. visions need not ultimately come true. visions may not reflect events in a literal manner. visions may serve as a bit of deus ex machina, if that's your pleasure. visions may void your character's warranty.

tomas riley's fantasy: andrei. andrei, andrei, andrei. not back from the dead, but never gone - possessions interspersed among riley's like the shadow-man never had to weed them out and pack them away just so that the sight of them wouldn't keep blindsiding him, as if they moved into the smaller quarters above the shop together, as if they had semi-retired together. as if the ghost riley's had in the corner of his mind's eye for years and years has simply always been in the real world as well, andrei at his shoulder as he ought to be, as he ought to have been: argumentative and sly and impossible and yes, bleeding magic from every pore and yes, a little too gaunt but not fever-wasted, holding in thrall what ultimately ruled him.
what i can offer you: two badasses for the price of one. two thieves and killers who have worked and lived together for so long that they're more like a right and left hand moving seamlessly together than they are two separate entities. not precisely altruistic or noble-minded, though. if they happen upon someone in trouble they'll probably help? but they'll be more focused on fighting things with magic and half-sentient shadows and an astonishing variety of weaponry, since that's what they do best.
what i want/need:
1. people who need savin'.
2. big, big bad things: riley gets pretty severely injured. i need someone who can realistically do that. (JULIE. JULIE. I WANT HIM TO LOSE AN EYE REALLY BADLY. I FEEL LIKE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS.)

clyde's fantasy: clyde is going to be a real girl. a real sixteen-year-old girl who has no practical experience with magic and keeps running into walls because she's used to phasing through things.
what i can offer you: a constant stream of pithy fucking commentary???
what i want/need:
1. for her to dance with armand. oh my head, i want this more than i want anything.
2. ALL THE HUGS FOR ALICE. if they're ever, you know, in the same place during this. hi laura, in my head clyde and alice are bff.
3. someone to severely fuck her shit up. clyde rolled super high damage numbers.

madam's fantasy: probably having defeated the demon pimp once and for all so that she doesn't have to constantly keep an eye out for him. conveniently off-screen and irrelevant.
what i can offer you: the half-demon lady of the gem in all her protective mama wolf glory.
what i need/want from you:
1. HEY HOOKERS. let me know if you won't be staying at the gem, please, so that mama can be appropriately :| at you on the journals for your lack of foresight in being outside when london goes to hell.
2. the gem's wards will still be there - madam will probably offer to take people in if they show up on her doorstep, but they'll be responsible for actually getting there (note: berith will be bypassing the wards per his fantasy, so any woobies might still get smacked around a bit).

buck jeremiah jones' fantasy: wife and little ones. a whole mess of bright-eyed wide-smiling children, and a little hard as nails lady-thing who speaks soft and demure and can reassemble a gun faster than her husband. because this can't go horribly wrong.
what i can offer you: weapons of an odd and eccentric and generally super-effective nature! buck's five hundred watt grin and general competence! temporarily existing children and wife to nom on!
what i want/need:
1. someone needs to fuck this family up, man. pretty please?
2. buck gets pretty badly injured - possibly by whoever handles point one, possibly by trying to be a Big Damn Hero
3. whoooooooo wants a cane that shoots lightning? how about a french horn that emits gale-force wind? sure, there's an assortment of knives and guns and swords and a necklace that makes the wearer immune to (almost) all poisons, but doesn't anyone want the fun stuff?

estelle bennet's nightmare: she's living it. except she isn't - because she still has fluctuating control of her body. until the nightmare kicks in, at which point It will suddenly find that the difficult little puppet-woman has suddenly become incredibly quiescent, that control is... easy. estelle, for her part, will find herself completely sane and utterly unable to do anything but watch It do as It pleases from inside her own head. fortunately, there won't be any magical bolstering effects to the body itself. unfortunately, It will be walking around looking like a tiny fragile bemused little waif of a woman (possibly with a carving knife. there is great potential for the singing of three blind mice as It walks after someone who has been hamstrung, can't lie).
what i can offer: fucked up batshittery. also a punching bag. i am all things to all people.
what i need:
1. i imagine i'll be mostly maiming npcs, but if anyone needs a sadist i am over here making eyes at you (no, it's not a dust mote. it's supposed to be alluring, dammit).
2. belville :3

cian andley's nightmare: not everything getting worse, oh no - that's more of a set-jaw inevitability. but ignorance. the inability to fight what he doesn't know is right there. ignorance of the curse, ignorance of what happened between em and gryff, ignorance of his ex-wife's true nature and consequent ignorance of their divorce - for a brief stretch of time, cian andley is going to be horribly happy.
what i can offer: 1/2 of a team of Librarians specifically trained to Handle Shit in those Everything Has Gone Pear-Shaped situations - more pointedly, a team whose job it is to handle ABILITIES GONE HAYWIRE, which i'll be bobbing around checking for in everyone else's comments but jump me here if i miss you. also someone who can heal himself and others, so that's ~useful. and someone who can manipulate on a physical level anything that is in a human-suit.
what i want/need:
1. irene to be badass with
2. Shit To Do. things to hit and things to fix and all that jazz.
3. ...someone who could somehow clue him in to reality before this is all over would be incredibly useful, because his resultant blinding rage would probably greatly facilitate fighting the good fight.

yoshinori watanabe's fantasy – yoshi's fantasy is quite simple: it will mean you will see him wandering the chaotic streets with his family perfectly safe, having a jovial all time, arm slung around his wife and his youngest daughter; but it will also mean the restructuring of the Market to... benefit him. so while nic's nightmare might say the Market is falling apart, yoshi's fantasy will be slowly putting it back up again: with him and his family at the helm. i'm sure that will be something interesting to talk about with nic afterwards. c:
what i can offer: nothing much, because this is a largely self-contained fantasy, though, of course, he will be interacting with vendors (stella) and others-i-can't-think-of-while-i'm-on-nyquil
what i want/need:
1. in yoshi's fantasy, nic basically gets fucked over, because marion also wouldn't be under his control anymore. and um, he'd take his job. i'd love to see the tension that arises out of that.
2. feel free to comment on his family
3. lol i have nothing
sachiel's fantasy – he's a bit immune to all of this, so though people might notice some roses and daisies and Christ-loving in Sachiel's midst, he's going to be largely untouched by it himself and well... you know, he can recognize it isn't the truth. because of that, he's going to be more interested in dealing with others and observing them.
what i can offer: a healer of sorts; sachiel would be able to rouse others out of their fantasy/nightmare if only for a little while, or get them to recognize that it isn't... reality. (penemue, you are a wealth of ideas.) he will also be interested in simply seeing this pan out however for the sake of curiosity, so expect to see him just observing for a while before he realizes he should maybe help out.
what i want/need:
1. people with particularly interesting fantasies/nightmares for him to observe and note. EXPECT HIM TO BOTHER YOU LATER ON WITH VAGUE ALLUSIONS TO THESE EXPERIENCES.
2. and then maybe a few lucky souls to help alleviate some of these symptoms.
