After not having much luck searching for odd jobs in Scotland, Michelle had ended up back in London. It was a large enough place that she could easily disappear, and had enough hostels that she could jump to a new place if she needed, but also had more job opportunities. She was hoping to be able to stay here for the next month, and possibly make it semi-permanent once she had her birthday and could perform magic freely, but she was taking things as she'd learned to, day by day.
Since it was January, it had been almost five months since she'd had any sort of news from the wizarding world. And aside from one almost run-in in Nottingham, and the possible animagus on her parent's porch over Christmas (though a large part of her realized that she was likely being paranoid, and it really was just a cat) she'd had no contact with that world, either. So it was with this in mind that she decided to wander to Charring Cross road, with the hesitant hope that she might run into someone she knew, and could trust, while she was there. She'd taken some precautions, though, having dyed her hair (the muggle way, of course) a darker colour than usual, and wearing a baseball cap.
Wandering down the street she noted a bookstore and decided to slip in there. Reading had become her passtime of choice as her walkman had been stolen while she was in Cork, which had resulted in her selling her now-useless CDs to afford her train ticket back to Crewe for Christmas. Heading to one of the displays she began thumbing through the books that were on sale, to see if any peaked her interest.
