Hazel began mindlessly garter stitching the crown of the hat, thankful it wasn't time yet to decrease and demand more of her attention than she wanted to divert from Ernie. She liked having something to do with her hands, though. It was a comfort, and she felt less like she had to impress Ernie with all of the clever things she was sure she couldn't find the words to say.
"David is, and he's very proud of his house. The rest of us are, too," Hazel continued. Her mum and da had been Hufflepuff, too. "It is interesting. Like Padma and Parvati, you know? I mean, siblings in separate houses makes sense, sometimes. But twins?"
Even thinking of the Patil girls, however, and Ernie's by necessity close relationship with Padma, caused a little frown to wrinkle Hazel's brow. This was the only year she hadn't romanticized Head Boy and Head Girl because, really, what wasn't romantic about that?
