Who: Susan Bones and Parvati Patil What: Just a trim When: Tuesday, March 15, 1998, evening Where: Prefect's Bathroom Rating: Low
Susan looked at herself in the mirror, but could barely see a thing through her hair. Her bangs had reached the annoying length where they were so long they were hanging in her eyes, but were too short to pull back properly with a headband. For the past few days she had been brushing them away from her eyes every two minutes. Today she had borrowed a few little clips from Hannah, but they were only half working. Of course, she was sure that if Hannah had put them in for her, they would have lasted longer and by the end of the day, all but one had fallen out. But, now she only had to hold out for another few minutes. She had practically begged Parvati to trim them for her. If she had any faith in her hair-cutting skills, Susan would have done them herself by now, but the last time she trimmed her own bangs in fourth year they had come out all uneven. So, needless to say she didn't trust herself to do it.
The prefect's bathroom was empty and soothingly quiet. The brunette raked her hair back, away from her face, the scar on the back of her hand catching her eye. It had been a week now, but it didn't seem to want to go away. The essence of murtlap had helped for the first two days, but the wound was closed now and still twinged every once in a while. She had this wonderful idea that she would get Carrow back for it somehow, but she knew that would never happen. She could dream, though. She wondered how Lavender was doing after her ordeal... Susan felt dreadful, but also grateful that it hadn't been her/
She absentmindedly combed her fingers through her hair as she waited, eyes glazed over, staring at the mermaid on the wall who seemed to be mirroring her movements.
