"And I'm sure you'll tell him in more depth that dueling in the hallways isn't to be tolerated," Ernie said after a moment, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. He certainly knew better to think that the younger Slytherin was going to receive anything other than praise and pointers on his wand technique from Travers.
Ernie shot a look at both of the other boys. "I'm quite serious. I catch either of you dueling in the corridors again, and I will personally see to it that you get detention myself." His gaze lingered on the younger Slytherin boy for a moment. "I'd suggest you both run along."
He watched the two younger boys head off in opposite directions before turning his gaze back to Travers. He knew that what he should do is declare them done and walk away. Go to the library and let it all go.
But he spent entirely too much time letting things go these days.
He considered Ambrose for a moment before speaking, his voice low. "I guess we are done here, Travers, but don't think for a second that I won't be keeping an eye on you. Do remember that you don't have unlimited authority."
