Ernie was on his way to the library. He needed a book. And a quiet place to focus. And for all his homework to magically be done because he felt like he was drowning, just a little. But he could at least take care of the first part, so off to the library he went.
On the way he thought he heard the sounds of a scuffle. There were times when he really hated his Head Boy duties. But he couldn't ignore them, so he walked toward the sound in order to investigate.
When he saw two boys dueling in the hall, his stomach dropped just a little. But when he saw Ambrose Travers getting involved, it dropped even more. The last thing he wanted to deal with was the pratty Slytherin. But he absolutely had to get involved.
"Don't you think that's a bit extreme, Travers? Not to mention biased. I don't think you can really blame one without the other."
Ernie had heard how detentions were getting, and he'd be damned if he let a kid be subjected to the Carrows just for defending himself.
