Who: Michelle Campbell and Fleur Delacour
What: Getting fixed up by Madame Pomfrey
When: After the first task of the Triwizard Tournament
Where: Hospital Wing
Rating: Low, I'd guess

As Michelle and Hazel had been exiting the stands after the first task, a gentle shove from the person behind her had left Michelle sprawled on the ground with a twisted ankle. With the help of her friend she'd made it to the hospital wing, but Hazel had left a few minutes ago and Michelle was now waiting for Madame Pomfrey to come and fix her ankle. Michelle knew some healing charms, but didn't want to do them on herself quite yet, as she thought that she needed more practice.

A commotion near the front had Michelle leaning forward to see who it was, and saw some of the champions being led in. She assumed it was so that they could get their burns fixed, and Michelle saw both the pretty French girl and... Cedric. Sighing softly, Michelle shifted positions so she could watch him getting fixed by the nurse. She really could wait as long as she needed to, she decided, if it meant she got to look at him.

Fleur was still trembling, but not out of fear. The exhilaration of what she had just achieved was making her quiver all over. So what if she wasn’t coming out on top? She had other tasks to catch up on her marks. For now, she was just glad that she wasn’t Dragon Food. She stood with Cedric for a few moments while Madam Pomfrey shuffled off to get the burn paste.

“Your burns are much worse zan mine,” She teased, grinning broadly. Her skirt had been set on fire and her legs were a little burned, but she couldn’t feel the pain properly. She was too alive with excitement.

Ludo Bagman came in and told them about their next task, and was promptly shoved out of the tent by Madam Pomfrey who wanted to tend to her patients. She ushered Fleur over to another bed, but she glanced back at Cedric once she got there, smiling at him again. Out of anyone she had met at Hogwarts, she liked him the best. Fleur looked away when Madam Pomfrey told him to remove his shirt, and that was when she heard a gasp come from the beside her.

“Are you feeling all right?” She asked, scooting forward and tugging the curtain back a bit, “Do you need zee Nurse?”

Michelle blushed quite red when Fleur found her, tearing her eyes away from the shirtless Cedric to look at the just as pretty French girl. "I'm fine," she squeaked, then cleared her throat. "Sorry. I'm okay, I just twisted my ankle. But I can wait, I'm not in a rush. You all are more important."

She sneaked another peek at Cedric before looking back at Fleur, for the first time really realizing that it was her. "Oh my gosh!" She said quickly. "You were so good out there! And so brave! That was amazing!"

Fleur didn't contradict Michelle. She didn't want to sound as rude as she so often did, but burns were worse than twisted ankles, so her honesty would probably sting.

"Oh, zank you," Fleur smiled, a dazzling, disarming grin. "Eet was a risky strategy but I was put on zee spot." Fleur could not act like she had prior knowledge of the task, but at least getting burned would show people she was unprepared. She looked over at Cedric, his beautiful face red from burning. Fleur wrinkled her nose when she saw the paste being slathered on his skin, not looking forward to having it on her own. "Poor Cedric looks much worse zan I do. 'E ees very brave, more zan me."

Michelle was slightly mesmerized by Fleur's accent, excited by how it sounded... so exotic. It took her a minute to completely understand her through the accent, but once she did she nodded eagerly. "It was brilliant, really. With the hypnotizing and all... there's no way I would have thought of it so quickly! That must be why you're the Beauxbatons champion after all."

When Fleur mentioned Cedric Michelle took that as permission to look at him again, letting out a little sigh and nodding. "He really is brave, isn't he? He's brilliant, really." Straightening up a bit she grinned at Fleur. "I'm in the same house as him. He's a Hufflepuff, just like me. It's the best house at Hogwarts, I think."

"You are younger zan me. Per'aps een a few years, you will learn 'ow to do zat sort of magic. Zen eet would be zee sort of zing you would use een zat situation," Fleur suggested in a distracted sort of way. She was playing with the frayed edges of her skirt, and though her mouth was talking, her brain was wondering why she had chosen to wear a skirt that day when she knew she would be fighting a dragon?

Fleur returned Michelle's smile, but only briefly. She could not keep up with all the Hogwarts houses and didn't understand the divide. "Cedric 'as told me zat 'Ooflepoof ees zee best 'ouse. 'E says eet 'as a reputation of being zee... 'ow do you say... leftovers? But 'e 'as told me zat eet ees for zee well-rounded students 'oo are good at everyzing. So, of course, eet seems to be zee best."

Fleur shrugged. Hogwarts did nothing more than make her homesick. She didn't appreciate the differences between this school and her own. "Een Beauxbatons, we do not 'ave 'ouses zee way you do. Zee girls live een one tower and zee boys een anozzer. Een zee towers, we are separated by our years. Zere ees a common room for all of us, and several ozzer rooms for different 'obbies and events. Eet ees nice for me, because I am not separated from my seester by 'ouse. We are een zee same place."

"Oh, I hope so!" Michelle said with a wistful sigh. It would be brilliant, really, to be as good a witch as Fleur in three or four years. And to be half as popular with the boys, though that probably had less to do with actual magical ability, and more to do with being part-Veela.

Michelle frowned at the mention of Hufflepuff being for the leftovers, but when Fleur continued on, she didn't dwell on it. Her description of how Beauxbatons worked was interesting, but she wasn't entirely sure that she would like that option. She enjoyed her roommates and got along with them, but sharing a room with more than three others seemed a little intimidating. Especially when she considered some of the other girls in her year, that she didn't like very much at all. And sometimes she liked having the boys around. Especially boys like Cedric. "Knowing that you'll be with your sister sounds good," Michelle said, trying to find the positive. "My littlest sister, we think she's a witch, and I really hope that she'll end up in Hufflepuff if she ends up coming here. I'd hate not being able to see her all the time."
