Who: Katie Bell & Alicia Spinnet
What: Sometimes, Katie hates living with her parents.
When: Tuesday, March 1st, late evening
Where: Alicia's flat
Rating: Watch out for language, but other than that, low.
Katie hadn't even said anything about joining The Order, for Merlin's sake, and her parents were now in full-on 'shitting-a-brick' mode. They'd had a perfectly normal, if boring, family dinner, and Katie had been doing the washing up with her Da when she decided to ask him what he'd heard about The Order, if there were rumors at work about it being back in action. He only worked in Games and Sports, so she doubted he'd heard anything, but still, she was curious. It had been a bad choice, that much was clear to her, when her mother heard her and dropped the teacup she'd been holding, and it shattered on the kitchen floor. There'd been a lot of yelling and pacing and Katie wanted nothing more to shut herself up in her room away from all of it. When she'd managed to extricate herself and slam her door behind her, though, she suddenly felt trapped, like there wasn't enough air in her room.
She flung open her window to see if that would help, but it alleviated nothing. She was on the verge of tearing her own hair out - she could hear them downstairs, talking in angry whispers about her and her issues - when she decided that it was high time for a visit with Alicia. She grabbed a rucksack out of her closet and threw in whatever she could grab without thinking, pulled her wand off of her nightstand, and then she was gone in with the customary pop of apparation. She'd owl them when she got to Alicia's, there was no way she was sticking around long enough to leave them a ruddy note.
She ended up on the roof outside of Al's flat, her rucksack slung over one shoulder, and realized that she was out of breath, though from what, she wasn't sure. She tried to breathe calmly for a moment, but realized that it wasn't going to happen any time soon, and then knocked on the door to Alicia's bedroom, rather louder than normally.
