It had been a particularly long day teaching, at the end of which the teachers had received a memo stating that representatives from the Ministry would soon be coming to the school to speak to the students on "the nature of Muggles." The phrase seemed innocuous enough, but was nonetheless heavy with meaning; they would be teaching students about their primitive and dangerous ways. Sighing heavily she could tell that many of the other teachers felt the same way, but were holding their tongue much like she was, because of the one or two teachers that were quite pleased by the news.
Chloe was working late, so rather than go home to an empty house she'd visited Diagon, where Rhiannon was at the cafe, working many more hours than she used to in order to keep from having to pay an extra employee, since business had gone down so much. She chatted with her sister some, and then ordered two sandwiches, making her way down to Madame Malkin's to pop in to her aunt. If she'd already eaten she'd just bring the extra sandwich home for Chloe, but it wouldn't hurt to pop by, she thought.
"Aunt Alberta?" she asked, opening the door and hearing the soft tinkling of the bell as she entered.
