Tonks had been drying the dishes that slopped out of the soapy water in the sink, dunking them and scrubbing them again when necessary. Despite avoiding the chore at all costs at home, she was always eager to help clean up when a guest in someone else's home. They'd fed and entertained her for the evening, it was the least she could do.
Not that Tonks could be entertained of late. Her sulk was so profound that she didn't at first register that Fleur was speaking to her, catching only her last question and assuming the rest.
She had lots of reasons why she didn't like her full name, but chose to give Fleur one of the most dour.
"My mother's name is Andromeda. Her sisters' names are Narcissa and Bellatrix. She gave me a name befitting hers and theirs. Wouldn't you rather be called Tonks?"
