Severus was just beginning to tire of Greengrass' seemingly interminable paper-shuffling when the man turned and presented him with a sheaf of neatly scripted parchment. "Thank you," he muttered in clipped tones, immediately immersing himself in the documents. He flipped through them quickly, easily able to determine that there was nothing exceptional about either wand - at least, nothing that would make them of import to the Dark Lord.
However, they seemed almost too inconspicuous. Too perfectly...normal. Severus' eyebrow twitched up as he thought things through; he had to be sure. Returning to Wiltshire without a definitive answer would not be acceptable, to put it mildly.
When Greengrass turned slightly towards the Elf, Severus seized his opportunity. Moving quickly, he drew his wand and hissed two incantations one after another. "Incarcerous, Legilimens!" He began sifting through the expanse of Greengrass' memories as they opened to him, searching for anything pertaining to the wand the Dark Lord most coveted.
