Oliver had a dream. Fact was that Oliver had quite a lot of dreams, starting with playing on the English National team, then the great urge to get better cushioning charms on broomsticks, world peace and en endless supply to Molly Weasley's infamous cookies. Not necessarily in that order.
A it was, one of his numerous dreams involved developing the best racing broom ever. He spent countless evenings tinkering with old broomsticks, removing protective charms and fiddling with hexes to increase acceleration. In theory he should have managed to create the perfect broomstick about two years ago. Reality looked somewhat different.
Things had worked out pretty well up to the point where Oliver accelerated enough to attempt and – finally – break the sound barrier. That was when the broom caught fire and the whole test flight came to an abrupt end, leaving Oliver with a large bruise on his behind and a scorched twig that used to be his latest prototype. What he needed now, was inspiration and quite possibly a sympathetic ear to listen to his woes. That meant Katie.
It didn't take the Scot took long to find his way to Diagon Alley and only minutes after making up his mind, Oliver stepped into Quality Quidditch Supplies, already feeling better thanks to the mere presence of so many Quidditch supplies.
"OY! Katie!" He yelled, ever tactful. "Your favourite big brother is here!"
