Atonement

Hello! I am Crystal, aka brightflower, your lovely moderator. I created this asylum because, well, there wasn't one, heh. I just thought it would be neat to have a place for fans of this amazing story to meet and chat.

Feel free to post your thoughts, opinions, icons, pictures, fanfiction, and anything else that relates to the novel or film that is Atonement.

And here are a couple of questions for anyone who'd like to answer:

1. Which did you experience first, the novel or the film? If you read the book first, do you think the film did it justice? I saw the movie first, so I don't think I can answer this question accurately, but I do believe it's the closest page-to-screen adaptation I've ever seen.

2. Do you think Briony's lie was partly due to jealousy? I got a strong feeling from the film that she was in love with Robbie, but this wasn't as clear in the book (to me), which left me a little confused. Perhaps it was subconscious?
