Sometimes only one person is missing and the whole world seems depopulated
Who: Pietro Maximoff, Unnamed Guards, OT anyone with reason to be in blue (Wanda?)
When: Wednesday, May 20, Morning
Where: Blue Block
What: Pietro looks for Wanda and pretends to be a good little mutant.

It had been a nearly a full 24 hours of interrogation before they'd released Pietro to a cell. Lots of questions as to why he was here, and perhaps more confusing, questions about his father. He'd wondered what interest they could possibly have in Django for sometime before it hit him that they were more then likely referring to his biological father. This had instilled a thirst in him, a need to know the truth, but now wasn't the time.

He had been released to a cell the second day, and the moment he had be let out of his room he made a run for it, learning in a most practical way how his collar worked, skidding face first as his muscles suddenly gave way beneath him and being locked away in in his room for a second day.

Today he flashed the guards a wide grin as he left his room, pointedly strolling along at the most tedious rate he could manage. "Nice place 'ya got here. Now how am I'm supposed to see more of it if you lot keep-" he gestured as if working a remote "-at me? Hmm? And I did come all this way to see something in particular, so...if you could help me find my sister I'd be much obliged. Or could start knocking on doors?"

Since her fight Wanda had returned to her early habit of secluding herself in her room. In the days following her brothers arrival on the island- for she soon learned it was her brother- she tried each day to glean what she could about him from eavesdropping and talking with guards. The latter was difficult for her to do and more often than not they refused to give her any information at all. This morning, as soon as she awoke, she began her wandering of the halls in hopes of hearing something- anything. Each night she had nightmares that they were killing Pietro and every hour without any tangible word about him was torturous. The only silver lining to any of this was that it took her mind off the horror of her first fight. However, this waiting was far worse than worrying about whether or not she had killed someone.

"Look, either help me or don't, but you being all loomy is just creepy," Pietro continued, hoping to evoke a response as he wandered the halls, but they ignored him, keeping a close eye on where he was going, fingers wrapped round their remotes in case he tried to make a run for it.

And run he did.

But at a normal pace, eyes wide and face filled with delight as a familiar face came into view. "WANDA!" he cried in disbelief, picking her up into a full body hug before giving her a chance to respond, swinging her around and kissing her cheeks and her forehead as though he could quite believe he'd found her.

At a loss for words Wanda found that she was grinning wildly while tears started to stream from her eyes as she returned his hug.

Words tumbled from her lips in a rush and it took her a few seconds before she could speak. "You're alive," she finally gasped, laughing as she wiped at her eyes. "And you're an idiot." She stepped back and crossed her arms, trying to giving him her sternest look- and failing miserably as a smile continued to tug at her mouth.

Wanda glanced up and down the hallway at the guards watching them closely. Her reunion with Pietro was not something she wished to be witnessed by so callous an audience. She sighed and stepped back into her room, beckoning her brother to follow.

Pietro laughed, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Ye of little faith. 'Course I'm alive," he said with a grin, countering her stern look with a well practiced pout which was quickly wiped away as he laughed again, grin tugging at his lips.

"Buh-Bye Boys," Pietro said with a cheeky grin directed at the guards, saluting and disappearing into the safety of Wanda's room.

He fixed her with a more serious look, eyes assessing her quickly, making sure she was all right, and he gave a small sigh of relief, leaning against the closed door. "I was half afraid I'd never see you again," he murmured.

In her room Wanda sat down on her bed and rested her face on one of her hands, shaking her head in exasperation.
"Likewise," she replied and took a deep breath before beginning the rant about to boil over. "When I told you to run, I meant it. What were you thinking coming here like this? I know you're reckless, but really? You could've been killed! Pietro that was so, so, so stupid!" She bit her lip and tried to hide her pained expression. "If you had died..." Wanda trailed off, unwilling to finish the thought or the sentence.

Pietro scowled, crossing his arms. "What, I was just supposed to leave you here? You think I could live with myself knowing I'd let them take you? You're my sister, Wanda, my best friend, no one takes you from me."

He sighed, growing uncomfortable with her distress, and let his arms fall, guilt rising up in the pit of his stomach. "Well...I'm not dead, so phase one can be considered a success. Now I just gotta get us outta here, and then we can get back to how things were. Just gotta get this stupid bloody thing off," he said, scratching at the collar with narrowed eyes.

"Oh, Pietro," she groaned, feeling a little guilty herself. "You could've had a life. I make things so horrid for you. Always looking out for me." Wanda glanced up at him and tried to smile. "For what it's worth though, I did miss you. So much." But I've ruined everything for you she added mentally, not wishing to add anymore to his discomfort.

Her eyes flashed as he continued to speak and she stood, shaking her head vehemently. "No no no, don't talk about escaping. Just, lay low, all right. You're in enough trouble as it is, I'm sure." Reaching up, Wanda touched her own collar. "These things aren't so bad. Mine's wonderful." She paused and a dark look clouded her blue eyes. "Until they turn it off," she half-whispered, her gaze traveling to her pale reflection in the mirror. As she stared at herself, her eyes on her collar, her gaze was a mixture of reverence and horror.

"What kinda life could I have had without you?" he said in all honesty, offering a soft smile and a wink, "I'd follow you into the pits of hell. It's selfish of me really, I just like ya too much."

He arched an eyebrow. "I'm not staying here Wanda, and neither are you. This place is messed up. I'm getting us out of here. Ideally I would have done it all in one go, but..." he shrugged.

He frowned slightly as she touched her collar. "Wonderful?" he repeated in disbelieve, "They must have you on something else, 'cause I would hardly call them wonderful." He rubbed at his torn up cheek, eyes narrowing at her quiet words, and the look that followed it, frowned and stepping closer, pulling her into a hug.

"What did they do to you?" he muttered, petting her hair soothingly and holding her tight.

Wanda could not suppress a small smile at his admission of devotion, though she still felt regretful. "You're so over dramatic," she muttered with a small laugh.

Crossing her arms and frowning in disapproval, Wanda chose not to comment on Pietro's comments about escaping. For now she was so relieved to have him with her that she would give no further condemnation nor acknowledgment of his plans.

In her brother's arms, it took all of her willpower not to break down and tell him what was wrong with her. It would do no good, she decided, to fuel his rage any further at the moment. "Nothing...I mean... something but...it was my own fault." She pressed her face against his shoulder and willed herself not to cry. It seemed that was all she'd been doing these days and she was growing weary of it. Still, she could not suppress a shudder as she imagined for the millionth time the sight of that man's dripping down his skull. Wanda realized that she could not keep this for long from the one person who probably knew her better than she knew herself.

Pietro's frown grew, not believing her for a moment, but for one he didn't press, he simply held her closer for a minute, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "None of this is your fault," he murmured softly, before pulling away, running a hand through his hair.

"So, they got food on this island?" he asked with a hopeful grin, trying to break the sad mood that had decended upon them, "'Cause I think I might pass out if I don't get something in me soon."

When Pietro moved away Wanda paced for a moment, avoiding meeting his gaze, before settling onto her desk chair. "There's a cafeteria here in Blue. You haven't seen it?" She answered, staring at the swirling grainy pattern in the wood of the desk's top. "You can still get lunch in there for another few minutes. You've got until eleven."

"Not yet. You can give me the grand tour sometime. I wasn't paying attention to the particulars my first time round," he said with a small grin. He chewed lightly on his lower lip as Wanda continued to remain sullen. What the hell had happened to her?

"...I think they know who our father is," he blurted, hoping this might distract her from whatever dark thoughts were swirling around in her head.

"What? Django?" her eyes snapped up to meet his. Before he could explain she had already begun working herself into a panic. "He hasn't done anything! They've got us, what more do they want? I swear to God, if they so much as lay a finger on him-" Wanda glared at nothing in particular as the familiar heat of her powers rose. A little red light on her collar blinked rapidly to show that it was activated. Her anger had not subsided and the heat remained, though nothing manifested. The little light continued to blink helplessly.

Pietro shook his head hurriedly, wanting to quell this rise of emotion before it got the best of her. "No, not him. I thought they meant him too, at first. No, our birth father. They kept asking me about him. Not sure they believed me when I said we didn't know anything about him."

He ducked his head slightly, moving to catch her gaze, holding it with a calming look. "You okay?"

Wanda instantly relaxed and the light on her collar blinked off. "Yeah, I'm okay," she muttered. "But why are they so interested in our birth father? I mean...I don't really care. Do you?"
She chewed her lip as she considered the statement she had just made. She really did care, a little. Even though she had resigned herself long ago to the fact that their biological parents must not have wanted them she couldn't help but be a little curious.

"I don't....actively care...anymore," said with a slightly hesitant tone. He loved his adoptive parents more then anything, but still...there had always been part of him that wanted to know where he came from, know why they didn't want them.

Maybe it had something to do with his fair complexion. It had been something he'd never been able to explain as a child. He looked nothing like the rest of his family, nothing like his twin sister, when he finally learned there might be a reason for it...he couldn't help but be a little curious.

"Do you think it means he's a mutant? If they know about him?" he asked, a curious grin forming on his lips.

"It's likely," she answered, though with less eagerness. "Look at us. I know the mutant gene isn't in every generation but I've always thought at least one of our biological parents was a mutant. It just seems..." she found herself grinning, "probable."

Pietro grinned, more then a little excited. "Maybe they more where we can find him. Then we can see for ourselves. You think I got my rugged good looks from him?" he asked with a wink, dissolving into laughter and nodding towards the door. "Come get some food with me and we'll catch up. Wanda smiled indulgently and stood up. "Food sounds like a good idea." She slipped past him into the hall. The guards had changed while they were talking and the one nearest Wanda's door nodded politely at her. He had only started showing up a week ago and he was always quiet and never failed to give that courteous little nod. He had also proven very useful whenever she was eavesdropping. She nodded back to him and walked towards the cafeteria.

"How is it here? Worse or better then highschool?" he asked, following after her, eying the guard briefly before hurrying to catch up. "Not that any of it can compare with the food back home. America has nothing on our food," he said with a proud grin, "Gods, I'd kill for some right now. Promise me, when we get out of here, we just go back to Transia?"

"The food's tolerable," she shrugged, "Not any worse than high school was. A step up from the dining hall at my old dorm at university, to be honest. Though that was the cheapest cafeteria on campus." Wanda pursed her lips and stared at Pietro out of the corner of her eyes. "You really want to go back to Transia? I got used to New York."

Pietro nodded without a second thought. "I got used to it too...but it's never really...felt like home to me...I dunno," he rubbed at the back of his neck and laughed, "Besides, Transia's got more places to hide. And it's further away from this stupid place."

He looked about, giving a heavy sigh. "So what, we...live here...we have these collar things...and...they fight us like dogs 'til we die? Is that the deal here?" he asked with a frown, paying pointed attention to keeping his pace even with Wanda's, "No...secret loophole that gets you out or anything?"

"True," she sighed unhappily and got into line to get a tray. "We can never go back to New York. Not after what I did in the city." It was a depressing thought. Her job, the few friends she had-even if they hadn't been brought to Revolve, she would never have been able to return to the home she had made anyway.

"No loop hole that I know of besides dying." She frowned. "The fights are... savage."

"Eh...you'll be the prettiest girl in Transia," he offered, feeling the familiar blossoming of guilt, "And from there I'll take you anywhere you want. Paris, Rome, you name it and we'll go," he said, loading up his tray, stomach growling eagerly.

"You've been in one?" he asked, trying to sound casual, but his eyes darkened slightly, and he kept his gaze on his tray, not wanting Wanda to misinterpret his anger.

"You've been promising Paris for years," she smiled wryly. "But I was always just too busy. Suppose I'm not too busy now." She filled her tray far less full than his. Her appetite had been nearly nonexistent since she arrived. The only reason she had actually come to the cafeteria was that she was afraid to let her brother out of her sight at the moment.

Rather than answering his question she ignored it and found seats for them at an empty table.

"The offer stands, and I'm cheaper then any travel service," he said with a grin, "Faster too." He didn't notice her light tray, he always ate more then her, his metabolism required it.

He let it slide for a moment, a light frown creasing his face as he sat, digging in before- "If they've hurt you, I swear to god, I'll use my fist this time, fuck guns, I'll tear them apart."

"You don't miss it? I know you had your own stuff going on back home."

"Pietro, stop," she hissed. "This isn't the place to talk about it or make threats. They didn't hurt me. Not exactly. Only so far as they orchestrate the fights. And I promise," she looked pained as she continued, "I did...far, far more damage to my opponent than he did to me." Pushing her tray away, she put her face in her hands and again fought the memories. When she was certain she wasn't going to burst into tears she picked up her fork and moved tray around on her tray, though she did not actually make an attempt to eat anything.

He frowned, grumbling towards his tray. "Why shouldn't I make threats? What are they gonna do? Make me fight someone? Sounds like I'd have to do that if I was on my best behavior, why bother trying? I'm supposed to look after you Wanda," he said with a heavy sigh, resting his forehead in his palm.
