Who: Mia & Brynn OT Aidrian
Where: Green Block, Mia's room
When: March 12, after Lockdown
What: Mia is still awake, Brynn comes to bring her a present.

Moving Mia back to Green Block went much the same way as moving her to White Block had gone, people moved her things and she just watched with a confused expression. Occasionally she would reach out and touch something before letting it slip away. Then Reaper walked with her back to the block she had spent most of her life in. She perked up as she realized that this was home. He chuckled at the piece of a smile and the minor tumult her mind kicked up as she was put back in her old room. The first few days in White Block she had come back to Green and curled up in her room there, not wanting to be away from the home she knew. Even when it had been cleaned and sanitized, she had found herself a spot in the corner and curled up there like a beaten animal. Mia was odd in her reactions to most things, so no one had really commented on that strange bit of behavior. It was easier to simply let things she did pass by if they weren't disrupting something.

The dance party she started in White Block had been disrupting the regular flow of things. Which was probably why that was marked down on her record, like the incident with the snow. Sitting there in a dark, the television across the room from her, Mia tucked her knees up to her chest. Reaper leaned up against the wall and she looked at him causing him to shrug.

"I don't know," he responded to her unspoken of where was Snow. Then she blinked and tilted her head. He shook his head. "Sand is in her own room and I wouldn't disturb her." His voice was calm, but thick, heavy, as if even that was attempting to hide something. Reaper was the far more violent of the two apparitions at Mia's direct command. However, he never seemed to show any of that violence toward his little mistress. Reaching up, he stroked his beard before shaking his head again. "You should sleep." It was pointing out the obvious, but sometimes, Mia needed the obvious pointed out to her. She was just special that way. "Lockdown has already been called, so we're not going to do any such thing."

Mia furrowed her brow at him. Lockdown was still an alien concept to her. "It means go to bed, Mia," the way he said her name said there was something there, but what exactly one could only guess at. "Do you need a story?" The idea obviously amused him. She shook her head at the insinuation, but did not move to get ready for bed. Then she looked up as if aware that something was coming, eyes rather wide in her face.

AHA! Finally, the damned thing was done uploading. She had been waiting for almost an hour to finish the process of slipping all the songs she had hand picked for her seemingly scatterbrained friend into the iPod she had bought over the internet. Her iPod was a blessing in this horrible place, and the woman had enjoyed listening to the music so much that the blonde had decided to buy her one of her very own. She'd bring it over tonight with the cord, the base mount, and the wall recharging plug all in one little box. She slipped the package into a small bag before sliding out the door and into the night.

Brynn had snuck across the yards, avoiding lights and covered in the black items she happened to have. A somewhat old looking cloak she had ordered last year had covered her striking blond hair and small lithe form in a comparable black shadow. She was lucky the guards didn't see her while she moved. She could have gone the easy way, just walked in and announced her presence, but this was so much more fun. She had slipped out her window, the package in her pocket 007 style, and dodge rolled across the grass. It was a great idea until she hit a stone and decided that running for it would be easier. The bruise on her back tomorrow would hurt like a bitch, but that's what she got for thinking she could be cool.

She held her breathe for a moment, the air outside stung the inside of her nose and scratched her throat as she dashed around the darkened buildings. Flattening herself to the shadow next to Mia's room, she tossed a small stone into the room and waited for the clatter of it's form on the floor before sticking her nose in between the bars. If she had guessed wrong and it wasn't the right room, she'd be found out, especially if it was Jean's room she had just tried to barge into. She waited what seemed like years for some kind of noise, all the while knowing it was only seconds.

The stone clattered across the floor and Mia looked at it as if an alien had just landed in her bedroom. Reaper was less surprised by it. Instead he moved to the door and walked through it. One of the major perks about not being a real person, he didn't have to worry about silly things like doors when he didn't feel like it. Mia watched him from her bed.

"Can I help you?" Undoubtedly it would seem odd that a man, one wearing an expensive looking black business suit, with pressed white shirt and tie, as well as giant black demon wings. No one expected to be looking at that in the hallway in the middle of the night. His wings twitched, flexing and flaring as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Mia really should have been asleep, but the fact that she wasn't was probably the only reason Reaper was not actually being remotely hostile. If she had been asleep, he'd have started the conversation with an expletive or three.

Brynn flinched. Wrong room, shit. "I'm looking for Mia. I thought this was her room." At least it wasn't Jean's room. That would have been a large fuck up and the seductress assumed she would have been locked in her cell and had her privileges taken away from her for a while. But thankfully, it wasn't, and she smiled kindly at the other man, who she assumed to be a mutant, even if she couldn't visibly see a collar on him. "Sorry. Can you point me in the right direction?"

She peered at the man before her, confusion touching her eyes. She knew almost every mutant in all the blocks, as her services often pulled her from one room to the next. No one had an easy transition to the island, and the older they were the more likely they had been to reject the new tricks of the local culture. One of her jobs was to make that easier on them all. Because of that she knew just about everyone on the island, all the mutant faces, and a lot of the guards and visitors as well. She sometimes had trouble keeping their names straight, but Brynn could handle identification by sight pretty damn well. "...Are you new here?" Maybe she simply hadn't been called to help with this one because of her recent spell of not working as often, but she could almost swear on her life that this guy hadn't been on Revolve long.

The fact that this girl was looking for Mia made him wonder exactly what was going on. He did know who Brynn was; after all, he knew everything that Mia knew and then some. There were a number of memories that Mia didn't have which Reaper kept. He raised an eyebrow at the question.

"No," he bowed to Brynn in a formal fashion. "I'm not new and if you're looking for Mia, you've found the right room. She's still awake." Then he smiled. He had a lot of teeth all of them quite pointed. Reaper had cannibal teeth, which he had sometimes used on others.

He stepped back into the room and sat down on the end of the bed away from Mia who still had her knees drawn up to her chest. The lost girl watched him with big eyes and the door would not be an impediment to Brynn anymore than it was to Reaper as Mia wanted her to be able to come in.

Traditional security methods meant absolutely nothing to her.

She giggled at the bowing. It was something she wasn't used to exactly. She had never had another person bow to her, let alone a man. "Good." She called after him and started in after him, her smile lighting up the room as the blonde crossed the threshold of the doorway and dropped her hood. She was draped in all black, which held a specific contrast to her hair, but brought out the blue in her eyes. The cloak was removed somewhat slowly and she draped it onto the floor in the corner near the door to keep it out of the way. The teeth hadn't worried her as they weren't coming after her at that point, and she figured she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. Until then she was blindsided by the fact that there was a present with Mia's name on it burning a hole in the bag she was carrying.

"Alright, I've got something for you, Mia." She started talking before her eyes met the woman's, that same dazzling smile on her lips. It had taken a week to finalize that present. Now, it was time to really give it to the person who had so easily made her day not too long ago.

The motion of Reaper's wings made a leathery sound, something right out of a horror movie. However, he seemed to be perfectly comfortable with it. Mia looked up from her figment to the Brynn. Her blinking at Reaper got another look of amused exasperation. "Once she leaves, you are going to bed." She smiled at him as he faded into nothing leaving the two of them alone together.

Brynn brought her something. Mia didn't know what to make of that. In the quiet of the night, she was nearly awake mentally, capable of following what she was told. "Present?"

Someone had given her a figurine what felt like a long time ago. She still had it settled off to one side. Once she got back to actually decorating it would get a spot on a shelf, but at the moment, it was just out of the way to keep it from being broken.

"Come sit," she offered Brynn Reaper's vacated seat. That was more words than Brynn had probably ever heard Mia use at one time, but she was starting to become comfortable with the blonde. Aidrian was really the only person she had entire vocal conversations with.

Brynn smiled and pulled the bag off of her shoulders before she unzipped it and shifted the make shift package out of it's contents. The box itself was a little thing, but it was more an illusion of the paper than anything else. She had barely managed to find a bag big enough to hold the present, let alone carry it, but she had managed.

It was wrapped in very colorful lined wrapping paper with butterflies on it, a reminder of the last time they had been around each other. She smiled as she handed it over, hoping the gift itself wasn't detracted from by her choice in wrapping. The ipod inside had come in white, but Brynn had felt that was too simple and had easily purchased a new cover off of a detail site as well, so when the two pieces came in, she swapped the one out for the other and smiled. The little musical device was now much more colorful than a simple plain white tone. Afterward she had added it's own little set of stones to glam it up and had even made a small carrying pouch for Mia to wear around her neck. She added stones to the ear bud headphones too, and had wanted to cover the long cords in colorful tape or string, but hadn't had the time. Each detail was specific and complete, even the back was engraved the top line reading Mia and the one under it reading Freedom's Child. "I hope you like it. I did all the detail work myself." The blonde set the package into her friend's hands and waited, nervously anticipating a reaction.

The fact Brynn brought her a present made Mia happy. Looking at the item given, she was pleasantly confused, probably because Mia didn't read all that often. She got distracted by the little stones on it reflecting the light in the room. As usual, she blinked at it, wondering what exactly it was supposed to say. This is why one should make better use of the skills that they have. Otherwise, they fell by the wayside.

"Thank you," then she asked the question Brynn was probably expecting. "What is it?" Mia had seen Brynn's ipod, but the fact that they were the same general object did not click at all and Mia herself was more often than not so lost asking her identify an object was just silly.

Fingers ran over the little stones and traced her name. "Mia," she knew her own name when she saw it. Her mother had written her name hundreds of times to make sure Mia recognized it. Not that it made a whole lot of difference now. Now, she hardly used her own name and she certainly didn't read on any regular basis.

"You're welcome." She smiled and handed the box to the woman again, after taking the headphones and slipping them into Mia's ears carefully. "It's an iPod. There's more in there too." She waited to hit the buttons until after the woman was ready. "The rest of it has to do with charging it and what not, but this little decorated machine is the same thing that we played with in the hallway, only this one is just for you." She pushed the buttons in proper order, pulling up the menu screen on it and letting it play something soft as trance poured from the little ear piece and into the other woman's cranium. The sound was still on low as she smiled and waited it out. Time would tell if Mia really liked the gift or not. Brynn was just hoping to bring some more smiles into the girl's life.

The rest of the contents were more details than anything, and Brynn waited to see what her friend would do with them. Maybe it would be best to explain their function to both Mia and one of her brain friends so that the knowledge wasn't lost in the cracks and that way Brynn wouldn't worry about the lack of music that could happen once the iPod ran out of battery. She waited, wondering if she should suggest it or if she should wait and see how well the other woman took to the objects at hand.

"Oh," Mia's mouth made the letter when she said things like that, just as everyone else's did. The girl didn't try to stop Brynn from putting headphones on her again, she'd done it before, it didn't hurt. The Ipod didn't eat brains, it added things to her world, making things different, bigger, maybe a little clearer? Odd to think that of having music in your head, but Mia seemed to find the music a suitable retreat to let her mind out a bit more than she normally did. Or maybe it was better to say that it parted the curtains always kept so very shut over the young woman's psyche. So Brynn was giving her a music maker.

Happiness was sometimes easy to get, if what you wanted was simple. Mia found she liked music. Something she hadn't recognized before. But she also liked television, something that one person had brought her to and sat her down in front of to try and keep track of her. It wasn't unusual for her to wander off with the television on, but sometimes she would sit there for hours, the images running across her face. Undoubtedly the Ipod would be of the same variety.

"It makes music," a statement of the absolute obvious, but she did that sometimes. The smile on her face said she was quite happy with this particular development. "Brynn," Mia rarely used real names for people. Often because her brain refused to hold it together, she gave them names her brain would hold onto. Snow and Sand were the ones she had assigned most recently, though there had been a guard in green years ago she dubbed Helmet and wouldn't call him anything else. Someone killed him. Mia didn't cry, but she noticed he was gone. Though most people thought she was asking after an object when she asked where Helmet? Most people just didn't get it.

"Yep, that's right!" The blonde smiled when she heard her name from the other woman's lips. It was a gentle tone, a curious tone, and Brynn herself was a very curious person. She didn't worry about the mental capacity of the other, but simply accepted that this was how things were. "Can I teach you how to use it?" She asked lightly wondering if the other woman would find it easier to simply read the instruction manual that she had so easily left in her room. Oops.

It was a curious thing, how easily Brynn found that she got along with most people. It could have been the blonde hair and blue eyes that everyone associated with. It could have been the almost baby look to her face that made it easier to melt people's hearts. It could even have been the general bubbily personality that Brynn tried to keep because it made her life better in the long run. Whatever it was, she was glad for it because it made friendships easier to come by. It was fun to keep people close, and while they might turn on her or she might lose them because of this fucked up island, at least she had kept some close people at some point. Mia, she had come to consider as one of those friends of hers.

Mia did want to know how to use the Ipod. However, one thing she never really seemed to be able to account for was exactly how intelligent she was going to be at any point in time. That might be why her figments came and went whenever they felt it necessary and not when she called them. If they had to wait for her to call for them, they would never get out. Tenshi and Reaper appeared when she needed them, which could be very often or not very often depending on what was going on. "Ah huh," she nodded that she wanted Brynn to show her how this thing worked.

All unbidden, Reaper reappeared standing up against the wall. He'd changed clothes, a pair of a khaki slacks and a maroon polo shirt. His arms out, they showed for well muscled but also extremely scarred, there seemed to be only fingers breadth between some of them. On his right arm was a Citizen watch with a face plate as big as Mia's palm. No wings this time though. Tenshi wore hers all the time it seemed, he wore his on occasion. His expression was still one of tired amusement, black eyes still seeming lit from behind. He knew Mia needed to sleep, but ever since she had come out of her coma, she'd been odd about sleeping. It bothered him and Tenshi a bit, but there wasn't anything they could do but shepherd her through these body changes and protect her from her own bad habits as necessary.

"Tenshi," Mia asked after her maternal figure.

"Sleeping," his tone was gentle, differential. "But you are not alone." Mia seemed to fear outright loneliness. Or at least that was what it seemed to be from the fact that there were figures always at her beck and call.

"Help?"

"As you wish, as always," he survived to assist her. So he would certainly do that as necessary.

The blonde smiled. This was going to get interesting. Then again, when wasn't it interesting here at Revolve? "Alright, here's how you work this little thing." She took the next few moments to explain it all to both Mia and her mindly friend, even if she had no idea where he kept coming from. His outward apperance wasn't so ghastly, but his teeth could be down right terrifying if she wasn't so used to the island she lived on. He could even be kinda cute in a nightmarish kinda- Okay, back to the topic at had before she started considering this poor guy for something she would likely regret in so many painful ways.

The teaching was slow going, but important enough to take the time and energy to do it right. "So, that should be all. Does one of you at least understand all that?" She smiled a bit looking hopeful at both the people before her.

"I understand it just fine," Reaper was confident he could use the little contraption to make sure that Mia was happy. The girl in question nodded that she understood as well. The question was really how long she would continue to remember once Brynn walked away from her.

Brynn could think of Reaper any way she wanted to. The truth was if she wanted it bad enough, Mia would probably end up giving her what she wanted and it would be a night to remember. Mia wouldn't even remember it after the fact though Reaper would. Quite an interesting little thing that would be. Not that it would be the first time he knew something that his Mistress did not.

Sometimes it was simply best for the Mistress not to know. She was safer that way. It kept her from hurting too much. He existed to protect her. Sometimes that included protecting her from herself.

The idea waifted through her head for a few moments before being pushed out entirely. Now was not the time to involve herself in something as entirely illogical as that. Thought the last time she had gotten into a good situation with her own sexual desires did seem like quite a while ago. What would she do with this strange looking fellow? She shook her head at herself and turned to reply. No use in getting ahead of herself with this strange disappearing man.

"Good. It just takes some getting used to. I hope you like it, Mia." She flashed the quiet woman a smile. "And the little bag is to carry it with you so you can take it around the island whenever you want." It was all a little domestic of her, but gratitude and friendship was hard to come by in a place that relied on bloodshed.

Her eyes flickered back to Reaper, or as she knew him, the strange disappearing man, and she smiled lightly. Now was a good time to leave before she got herself into any specifically curious trouble.

Mia turned the object over in her hands and underlined her name with the tip of her finger again with a smile. It belonged to her. Things given to her were precious, special. She made a point of keeping a hold of them as long as possible, even managing to fix them when they broke because she remembered what they were previously. So this would be a well taken care of object. Most of the songs didn't have much in the way of words, which was just as well, the songs Mia remembered were childish tunes, lullabyes and nursery rhymes.

She had sung "Six Pence" with Sand, though the woman didn't seem to know the song. Mia barely knew that she knew the song. It came out on its own most of the time.

Reaper leaned over and kissed Mia's hair. "Bed," he insisted. "I will walk your guest out," he added when Mia seemed to take on a panicked look. "I'll keep her out of trouble." Mia relaxed, her eyes drifting a little shut and her clothes shifted from what she normally wore when moving about on the island to a set of pajamas with strange symbols on them. The symbols themselves were meant to promote peace while sleeping, Mia remembered them from when her parents wrote them on paper and hung them above her bed.

"If I may," Reaper offered Brynn his hand to do as he said he would, walk her back to where she came from.

Brynn nodded and gathered her things from the corner before taking his hand and thus blushing like a school girl. It felt somewhat childish to her, like a girl who had a crush on a boy, but this wasn't a school yard, and he was far from a normal boy. His strange hand felt leathery against hers as she did so, like an old bikers vest that had seen too much sun and not enough oil. "Goodnight, Mia!" She called out as she started to leave, "I hope you like your gift." The smile on Mia's face had really said it all now, though.

The blonde let herself be escourted through the halls quietly, giving some space between the room and themselves before she started asking questions. "When you disappear, where do you go?" Her voice sounded quiet even in her own ears, the random feeling of shyness overtaking her usual obnoxious personality.

Mia waved goodbye in that sleepy fashion people got when they weren't quite all together there. She was going to roll over and go to sleep.

Reaper looked at Brynn, down at her really since he stood taller than she did. "Back into her mind," he was honest about his existence. He lived for Mia, through Mia, because of Mia. "I am one of her two guardians. Tenshi, who is currently resting, is her other."

The male of the two guardians took her question with a smile that showed his teeth yet again. "As you have probably noticed, she is not all together with us most of the time. Tenshi and I make it easier for her to survive." That was his reason for being in a nutshell.

"Oh." Well, now she just felt stupid, though there really was no reason for it. "I can understand why you guard her. She would need someone, and that's not likely to happen here like it would normally." Her eyes shied away from her current escort as she attempted to figure out what to do about her slight attraction to the figment of Mia's mind. To decide to act and somewhat seduce this strange not-quite-man would be an act twords Mia in some manner, but would the girl realize or even understand what had happened? For that matter, could he read her mind as she was thinking all of this? Was he silently laughing at her for her thoughts on the subject? Paranoid Brynn let her eyes slip back to him out of their respective corners. She glanced over the other's face and decided to ask a few more questions.

"What can you do, exactly?" It was a fair question, based on her somewhat fresh observations and the way in which he promised to keep her 'out of trouble'. His voice had been logical sounding, even if it was a protective action. "Do you have abilities like Mia? Or are you simply a functioning being for Mia's sake?" It made sense to her so far, and she hoped that this kind of question would make sense to him as well.

Mia definitely needed to be protected. Reaper enjoyed his job. And he found himself rather liking the idea of Mia making friends.

"Anything I want," he shrugged. He had no idea what his limitations were. There was never any reason to find out truthfully. "Mia doesn't put many restrictions on me and I have access to all of her abilities, which I have yet to find a limitation to either."

Mia had few limitations and none of them were immediately apparent to anyone. Beyond the obvious mental inability the woman had, Mia would have been a perfect mutant. The mental incapacity kept her from being misused by others, it kept her from being able to follow a direction quite long enough to allow her to do a terrible lot of damage. "I learn on my own, though I don't really change." Explaining himself to others was a little strange for him, but the way she kept looking at him made him more uncomfortable than the explaining.

"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" That made it fairly obvious that he couldn't read her mind.

"I...um." If she had flushed faintly at all before while taking his hand then she downright blushed now. It wasn't like her at all, but it was happening. "I find you interesting. Attractive in a strange way." She turned to face him, walking backwards now so that she could look him in the eyes. "It took me a moment to get over your teeth, as I'm not used to it, but after that, you seemed more....fascinating." She sucked at explaining things without actions to show what she thought, and she wasn't settled enough to show exactly what she thought of him at that point. Though at least he couldn't read her mind...

"You have this strange beauty..." She stopped moving then, in the middle of the hallway, and watched him as he moved towards her. It reminded her how short she was, if she had been paying attention. Her eyes were focused on his and the hand of hers that wasn't connected to his reached out and ever so gently touched his face. Complex emotions swirled into her eyes as she looked on.

"Most people find me terrifying," Reaper made no attempt to be less than honest about himself. He was the horror in Mia's life. He was the darkness in her given a physical form. The teeth she mentioned were just the beginning of it. The wings were another piece, though he rarely used them, just displayed them at times. It was far too easy to pretend to be normal when it came right down to it.

Even with the fact that he was endlessly polite so long as he was moving as Mia's guardian and not her need to execute someone. His voice was pleasant, his manners impleccable, physically he could be non-threatening, though that was hard given that his body type was meant to be intimidating. "So I appreciate very much the compliment."

The smile just revealed his teeth all over again as she touched his face. "You are lovely also, Brynn. Though I do have to ask if its a good idea to start any kind of relationship, least of all the one you're suggesting with a person who is not actually a person." That was the best he could do as far as underlining the situation. WHile he was capable of having feelings for people, he was also very well aware of the limitations coming with things based up on the fact of his existence.

He was not real. Therefore, no relationship with him could be claimed to be real either.

The teeth came back out and Brynn found herself not flinching at them. It made her even more curious. What else was strange on his form? The wings were more than appreciated and the strange teeth had to be just the beginning.

"You're welcome. Maybe it's easy to catch my attention and inspire my curiosity, but you do." Though his next statements made her smile and blush a bit. Her thoughts never gravitated to the 'relationship' end of things, and though it was likely making her a bit of a whore, she had never entertained that thought to begin with. "I, well, I don't usually think in terms of relationships. I usually only see the world in gradients of sex, vibes, and connections. A relationship here would be impossible with all the shit going on." Between owners, guards, and the assholes that never seemed to leave the mutants alone, it was an ongoing war for privacy let alone anything else.

"Then perhaps the better word is connection," Reaper defined relationship as the way two people went together. You could have a relationship as enemies in his mind, so long as the two of you were related in some way. "I don't truly exist," he was trying to explain in a way which would make some kind of sense. "Therefore, I cannot truly connect with another person, correct?" What an odd conversation to be having walking along. Granted, this was a person and a figment walking along discussing the finer points of how two people got along together. Logically, it made sense though.

"Mia's ability to connect is severely damaged. But that is a story she will have to tell if she ever finds her way back to it."

"I don't know. I can touch you. Does that make you here? Is that a connection?" While it could be temporary, the possible fallacy of his thoughts thus far striking her as odd in a way. They had gone from discussing the option of their sexual encounter, or nonsexual encounter to the consideration of his life or lack there of.

"Can be find a way back to it? Is it possible?" Concern touched her voice as she walked next to her new friend, even if he was a figment, a piece of her other friend.

"It's possible," he scratched his head willing to let the discussion of his reality or non-reality go for the moment. "She has moments of lucidity. Mostly around Aidrian," Reaper was comfortable enough with Aidrian to almost never appear in the man's presence. He would protect Mia from most immediate threats should one arise. "And just recently with you. She remembers your actual names." That was very important in the hierarchy of Mia's mind. If she knew the person's name or not. If she gave them a name to use, then they were not something she remembered as much more than an ongoing dream. Those whom she could name as themselves were people she knew when she woke up. "But those moments are fleeting and any number of things will cause her to shut down again. That story is something hidden away in her head, too terrifying for her to consciously behold."

Considering the number of things in Mia's head and what she was forced by Fate to see, it was easy enough to understand why she had checked out of reality in favor of the dream space she created to protect her.

"However, my worry, as with most things with her, is what will happen if she is ever made to stare into the eyes in the glass and recognize them as her own."

"Do you think she could ever come back to herself?" Brynn's eyes were full of hope as she looked on to the features of the strange man before her. He had walked away from the previous topic and she let him avoid it. If she made him uncomfortable, then she'd try to stop. "And would it be harmful to her if she did?"

The blonde could only imagine the rude awakening this could be. Someone to wake up in this hell hole might just hate themselves for ever waking to begin with. It wasn't easy living there, dealing with the blood and the death and the gore. Watching your friends have to kill each other day in and day out. It wasn't easy, but it was all there was for them. Maybe it would be best for her to stay the way she was?

He shook his head 'no' because had no idea what would happen. Nearly the entire time he had been with her, she had been this blasted wreckage of a person. Someone who rarely laughed and stood on the outside of things looking in without any real inclination to go in. "I don't know if anything can hurt her more than she is already. And I know she won't come back of her own choice." He had to shrug at the idea. What would happen if Mia were to ever recover enough to use her abilities consciously? "But I can imagine the world is safer with her this way."

Far be it for him to advocate his little Mistress remaining nearly a vegetable, but he was intimately familiar with her abilities in a way others were not. Aware of the things she could create. There were things in her mind that even he had come to fear, slouching monsters of anger and violence capable of causing even him to shudder as if cold. Let her never recover enough to make that more than a thought built by a diseased mind.

"She was born and raised in this madness. She knows nothing but bloodshed, violence, hate, and greed. And her former owner sought only to exploit her abilities through further violence. I actually like that this new owner of hers has shut the maze down permanently. But consider this, Mia can change the world based on something, lucid and capable, what kind of world would she make given her history?"

The Maze was a toy better left unplayed with, in his opinion. It was just a magnet for horrors.

Brynn took in the sentiments and nodded, thinking about it. They had all seen what Mia was capable of. What had been hidden under the blank exterior was still etched into her brain and she understood the concept that this man was talking about. She smiled grimly at the thought of what could be if Mia had reformed the island. While she didn't think the woman she had befriended had a truly violent bone in her naturally, the island had twisted her like it had all of them, into something no one could be sure of. "I see what you mean." Was her only reply.

She turned her face up to Reaper as she paused before her doorway. They had made it safely back and any guards who had been there hadn't bothered her greatly. "And, here we are. Home again." She paused before the door and turned to her companion. "Thanks for walking me home." Her nose wrinkled in response to her own statements, sounding like more of a small child than she really meant to. That school girl tendency was popping back out again. "Take care of Mia for me, okay?"

She paused a moment, her cheeks coloring light, then stood up on her tiptoes and leaned forward to brush her lips against his before turning tail and dashing into her doorway. She didn't often run from men, but for some reason she didn't feel like it was something she should stick around for. He wouldn't hurt her, that was unlikely, but haste felt like the right thing to do and much like always, Brynn followed her own intuition.

He was surprised by it to be sure, this little woman being attracted enough to him to try and kiss him. Well, succeed in kissing him at least a little. He could taste her mouth by running his tongue over his lips. As easy as it would be to walk back, he simply disappeared from the doorway as if he had never been there at all. No better than a ghost, so he behaved like one.

Mia had a friend. For that he was thankful. She needed every hand. If she was ever to find her way out of the maze her own mind had become.
