Who: Marlene and Benjy Where: Saint Mungos When: Wednesday afternoon Status: Incomplete Rating: TBD
Marlene hated hospitals. It was not just the hospital atmosphere either, but the fact that she was not allowed to do anything herself, at all. In recent years she had become fiercely independent and being doted upon by healers specifically threatened to do so by her ever loving family grated on her nerves. She was fine, she had not been hit by anything as nasty as Fenwick had been. Still Nadine had been there almost every day to dote on her and just chat about whatever came into her mind. Really, she loved her sister, she was her idol in every way, but Marlene wanted out of the room.
They had started letting her roam around the hospital about, though she was not formally released yet. She used this to be able to visit Fenwick in his ward. While the woman at front, she could not be bothered with remembering her name, had originally not wanted to let her in, no one told a McKinnon no. So soon enough she had been let in to visit him and check up on how he was doing. More than anything she felt obligated. He had taken a hit for her, a possibly deadly one. That was something no one had ever done for her and not something she would have ever expected anyone to do, ever, for anyone.
It was an action that left her more confused than anything and she was really not sure what to do about that. He had effectually saved her life, what did one do with something like that? One could not just say thank you and be done with it. She owed him and she was not sure what. It was not exactly something she could pay back really. Plus, he was pretty cute. Not that she would admit that aloud, but he was. Nadine would have probably thought the same thing, and her sister was as shallow as it got when it came to looks.
She was going to be released soon, she knew that, but not today. So she wandered down to his ward and went up to the woman, who knew better than to argue with her by now. The woman mentioned something about him sleeping, but she waved her off and simply walked past to the room she knew he was tucked away in. Though the girl was right, he was sleeping. That meant there really was not a point for her to be visiting, but it did beat just sitting around in her room and doing nothing. So she walked over and sat next to his bed, twiddling her thumbs there instead of back at her wing.
He really was cute when he slept, especially since he wasn’t talking. Talking was not his strong suit really, he was a bit of a moron. But he was a moron who saved her life, so that put him in a slightly different light. And really she should not stay all that long. Sighing softly she got up and looked back at him. Biting her lip slightly, she leaned over and kissed him softly on the forehead before straightening up and starting to head for the door.
