Who: Kirley and Alecto
Where: Owlry
When: Now, late?
Why: :X surprises.

She was a little tired and a little bored, her body was faintly disregarded when she wanted to hide it. Slipping on a pair of loose fitting pants and a plain shirt over her torso, she left the Common Room in a in a quick hop. Her steps were smooth and casual, hoping not to be caught by a wandering ghost or the night owl teachers. When she was sure it was safe, she moved in the direction of the long staircase that would lead to the Owlry.

Alecto grimaced. She really wasn't up to entertaining some Gryffindor's ideals or surprises in the middle of the night.

She could go back, go to her dorm and jump back to bed, but how would that sound tommorrow?

"Alecto Carrow stood me up"

Did she really need that attention? Why did he even want to see her? She was dull looking, plain and had no natural beauty.

Instead of thinking on it, she started her jog up the stairs until she grew tired and walked the rest of the way. By the time she was up to the top, she needed to sit down and was glad that it was silent enough for her to relax. Gently, she lowered her body against the ground so her back was against the wall.

Kirley really wasn't big on quietly navigating the halls. He managed to wake all of his roommates up whilst gathering his "supplies" for the meeting, got random objects thrown at his head, and cursed up a storm in response as he darted from the room, dodging a flying quidditch boot. Damned quidditch players were always so violent, and he was sure Robards wanted to kill him in his sleep. The man was a maniac, really.

He walked quickly to the owlery, wearing a pair of tight-fitting ripped jeans and a black t-shirt that was probably a size too small and held together on one side with a couple of safety pins. Early punk music was his current obsession, and he had taken to dressing like a member of the Sex Pistols when he could be arsed to pick out an outfit at all. Usually it was easier to wear robes. So much less effort involved. But anyway, the Sex Pistols were brill. Who cared if they were muggles?

He made it to the owlery and grinned before opening the door, slinging his guitar (unfortunately acoustic, as he could hardly be bothered to bring an amp to school, much less be forced to find a place to plug it in) and started playing a few chords as he walked in.

And then he began to sing, making up ridiculous lyrics as he went along. "Meeting Alecto in the owlry. It's so dark I can scarcely see. I've walked so long through the halls--wait! There she is, sitting by the wall! He grinned and played a last, resonating chord before closing the distance between them and taking a seat in front of her. His serenade had woken some of the owls and some were hooting unhappily at their interrupted slumber. "Think I might've made them angry," he said, raising his eyebrows comically. "Don't think they like my music."

She'd been worrying that he wouldn't come, he ditched her. Maybe he thought this would be a great prank on her, maybe it was just to laugh in her face and see her hurt? She wouldn't know. The entire time spent waiting was lasting forever and a day, the clock wouldn't move fast enough so she could feel like 'she tried'.

Suddenly, the sound of singing forced her head to lift from her knees, noticing the boy in front of her. Alecto's eyes appraised him, staring down at him hoping for some kind of joke to suddenly jump out and tell her it was all a dream. The boy was serenading her and all she could think of was how stupid she must be to allowing herself to be sucked into it.

Taking a gasp, she scowled,"Are you trying to bewilder me?"

Kriley cocked his head to the side, obviously confused by her question. "Why would I do that?" he asked. "I was just singing you a song. I know it was ridiculous, but I was just making it up as I went."

He was quiet for a moment (which was a feat in itself!) and then sat back a bit, unwittingly taking a less threatening stance. "I'm confused enough all the time that I wouldn't want to do it to anyone else," he said with sincerity. Actually, sincerity was something he rarely lacked. Kirley was completely incapable of lying. He was nothing if not honest.

One of the owls swooped down and flapped its wings just above Kirley's head before returning to his perch, feathers flying. Kirley, as promised, sneezed. "Oh, excuse me," he said, laughing a bit. "I think I'm rather allergic to owls. My own owl is quite a wench, really. Her name is Duchess Bridget Gwendolyn Maria Ariel the Terrible. I call her Duchess for short, though, because half the time I can't remember her name."

"I don't know, I haven't ever been sang to before. You must do it to everyone," Alecto said. She figured that this bloke was probably making girls swoon over his voice, dazzling them with his lyrics. She couldn't believe she was out here with some ladies man.

She snorted, putting her hands against the top of her indian-style set legs and rubbed the caps of her knees. She didn't want to believe that she was sitting outside with a Gryffindor, much less a boy. It made her all the more nervous and she tried to hide it but the worry was apart on her face.

"Actually, yeah. I sing all the time, but I don't normally make up songs. Usually I just sing something I already know, that I've heard before. Not like, horrid music, but... have you ever heard of The Clash? Probably not. They're not a wizard band, but they're still brilliant. I like to play music by them." He strummed his guitar absently. "Except when Robards steals my guitar. He does that all the time, says I'm agitating him. His face agitates me. He's a bloody git, that's what he is," he proclaimed, looking back up at her. "But it's sad you've never been sang to before. Not even when you were a child?"

"What was that for?" he asked, grinning at the snorting sound she'd made. "Surely I'm not that ridiculous. I named my owl when I was like ten. I'd name her something different now, if I could, but she's already learned her name, y'know?"

"I'm not really allowed to listen to muggle music or muggle anything, actually." The question caused her to roll her eyes up in thought, to think about it. The turmoil rolling in her stomach was a reminder of how harsh her brother and father was, instead of saying anything at first, she stalled. Alecto had to say something,"No, I usually fell asleep from tiring myself out." Which was both a truth and a lie, but she didn't have the ability to expose herself.

"Oh, I know, I wasn't doing that for that reason," She scowled again, she was really bad at talking to boys, even the easy ones. Alecto's eyes lowered down to her shoes that were pressed against one another,"I just thought you might be doing this to get a laugh out of it."
