oh, ted. ([info]tohnks) wrote in [info]asphodel,
Being the co-owner of a pub was quite a lovely job for Ted Tonks. There was very little to dislike about it. He was with one of his best friends, a muggle named Asbury (more colloquially known as Asby), he was in one of his favourite scenes (a pub), and he got to deal with people. Sure, half of the people were belligerent and smashed out of their minds, but they were characters in his life nonetheless. Plus, going home after a night with smelly pub-goers was more than enough reason to go to the pub at all. Either that, or going home with a few beers in him was never a bad thing for him (even if it had landed him on the couch more than a couple of times). Tonight, however, was Ted's late night. Asby had a prior engagement - if he didn't, Ted would have insisted he come visit Andromeda. It was Ted's cruel way of enjoying the much shier Asby's personality thrown into Ted's most comfortable environment. Tonight was not the night for that to occur though.

After waving his friend off duty with a batting of the eyelashes and a blown kiss (you see, Asby had a date, and Ted couldn't help but tease him a bit), Ted was the only owner on bar duty. He was not the only one working, of course, but the nineteen and twenty year old servers just weren't as much fun to tease, mostly because they were just as quick to respond as he was. His lonesome bar hours were nearing an end and Ted let the regulars know that last call was approaching. He refilled their mugs and eventually with help from the younger workers, brush them out of the pub like they did every night.

Helping the crew clean up, Ted eventually wound up at home with a big sigh as he opened the door. It wasn't a sigh of boredom or even relief, but just a sigh to start his comfort of home. He was convinced he was the luckiest of men. He would, sadly, never experience the tired husband, grumpy housewife situation that he had seen on television. Of course, the two had their tiffs, their individual moods, and their imperfection, in fact, their relationship was based off of an extreme imperfection in a social aspect. However, Ted was feeling good tonight. Sure, his arse was tired from standing all night, but there was luckily, a couch nearby and even more luckily, a woman on said couch.

Ted tried his hardest to be quiet, but the man was not the (sure, he was never exactly stickly) fit boy he used to be. His habit of clumsiness didn't help at all either. He nearly tripped over the boot he just took off, but he walked up to the couch as quietly as he could manage. Arching his own arms over the arm of the couch, his hand found Andromeda's shoulders and he pressed his face against the top of her head, constituting as some sort of makeshift kiss. Putting his foot on the arm of the couch, he haphazardly stretched his other leg over his wife, landing his bottom between her and the back of the sofa. "Hello, Beautiful," he said casually, his hand finding and rubbing at her shoulder blades.
