It had been one stressful journal conversation. James didn't think he'd ever solved a fight through notes with someone who was in the same house as him before - guess there was a first time for everything! He and Lily always did have a weird relationship anyway. Still, even now that they had sorted out some of their differences, James wasn't sure whether or not he felt one hundred percent cool with everything. He didn't even know until what point he could honestly say that he hadn't been a little unfair. But he supposed that being married meant that he would have to let these small things slide on occasion. He was not the only child in a rich house hold anymore. That much was obvious.
He wasn't very worried about what would happen once he and Lily talked face to face. How many times had they been fighting yet forced by their duties to discuss annual Hogwarts events? Only now they had a duty toward each other. This would be fine. Very slowly, James picked up the phone and dialled the number to the Chinese place. It was no wonder that after almost a year living with Lily, James had not only learned the number of the Chinese place by heart, but also, and more importantly, learned to actually use a telephone! He was really starting to embrace muggle habits.
James had just finished talking to Qian Hong when Lily appeared on the hallway, looking considerably flushed at having to be the one to speak to him first. The thought made James smile a little. "Oh, wait you wanted chinese? I ordered Pizza! Thought you didn't like Chinese!"
His defence mechanism always said 'joke when you're uncomfortable', though he wasn't quite meeting her eyes yet.
