It probably wasn't all true. Right? Comics were fiction... but Namor was real. Just like the Namor in the comics Bobby had discovered at the comic store, the guy was half mutant and half Atlantean, King of Atlantis, and fought in World War II with Captain America and the rest of the Invaders. Did Namor even know there was a comic series about him? Did the artist know him? Bobby had too many questions buzzing around in his head as he went searching for the King of Atlantis. He knew he shouldn't bother him, especially after their last conversation. Bobby was pretty sure Namor thought he was an idiot after that. How it had turned out that way, he was still wondering.
Comic book in hand, flipped to a page of the artist's rendition of "The Sub-Mariner" in color with a sea creature of some kind in the background the book called Giganto that looked like a warped whale, Bobby strolled the hallways of the Institute, waving at his friends and asking if they'd seen Namor around. Eventually he was directed outside and, sure enough, Namor was a speck in the lake, swimming. In October.
"Maybe he'll join my Polar Bear club..." he mused to himself, squinting in the sun with a hand coming up to shield his eyes with the comic as he tried to see if Namor would be coming back to the shore any time soon.
