All students, years three and above, who have signed permission from a parent or guardian may go to Hogsmeade on Saturday or Sunday. Security Measures: Aurors and Professors will be patrolling the village. Students are not to travel to or from Hogsmeade alone, and are encouraged to stay with friends while there. Prefects have been asked to watch for signs of trouble and offer assistance to younger students. No student is allowed to leave the village except to return to Hogwarts. All students are to return to the school by 4:30 pm. Prefects are responsible for ensuring that the students in their house and year have returned to Hogwarts (ex: Pansy & Theo for the 7th yr Slytherins), and Heads of House will be responsible for the 3rd and 4th year students from their Houses. link post comment

Mondays Dueling Results [Nov. 15th, 2006|01:23 am] hermionejean LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY _arcana) Results are in for day 1 of the Dueling Competition. For how I came up with these numbers, see the earlier OOC post. Numbers listed are basically how well the person did that round (1 being lousy and 10 being spectacular). In the case of a tie, take it as the two were evenly matched, the duel went on quite a while, and the second numbers were the end results. So a match that is won 2-1 was probably boring to watch with basic stuff and spectators sort of rolling their eyes at it. A match that's 10-10 is amazing, with really talented duelers throwing around things some spectators have never even heard of. You get the idea. :-) And a reminder that each day there is one person who is randomly chosen to compete with others who have already competed. This gives them a slight advantage over their competitor, and that result is marked with parenthesis around the persons number, which represents that they got a +1 added to their original score. While this might seem to come out best for the team who gets this person, it unfortunately also means that three other people are getting to compete and score points for their team again, which is a huge bonus for them, even if they are exhausted. Dueling Competition [Nov. 7th, 2006|01:49 am] hermionejean LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY _arcana) Final Team Roster for the Dueling Team: Seamus Finnigan, Susan Bones, Blaise Zabini Alternates: Morag Macdougal, Parvati Patil, Justin Finch-Fletchley All six students will be practicing with the team and attending any matches. Even alternates are considered team members, and will receive any prize the team wins. Professor Williamson also stressed during his NEWT-level classes that he was quite impressed with the skills shown at the try-outs, and it was not an easy decision to make. Practices will be (and have been) Tuesdays 7-9 and Fridays 7-10. Parvati's prefect rounds on Friday evening will be covered by Jack Sloper, and she will be taking his shift on Thursday from 9-11 with Susan. Students from the other schools will begin arriving this Friday evening - a welcome feast will be held in the great hall (practice will be delayed until 8pm that night only). As a reminder, the visiting schools are: Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Salem Witches Institute, and the Universidade de Mágica from Brazil. Each will arrive with six students and their coach. If anyone would like to interact with any of these NPCs, let Ellie or I know. I will make a post this Thursday night/Friday morning with some of their info and pictures. The competition begins Monday and runs all week. Matches will be held at predetermined times which have yet to be determined. ;-) During those times classes will be cancelled so that students may attend.
