For those of you who are actually following the new LiveJournal Advisory Board Elections, please consider supporting squeaky. He has thrown his hat into the ring, and has a very good rationale.
Apr. 20th, 2008 @ 09:04 am Donate! How are we doing?
Im curious if we have a count yet from squeaky as to how close we are to our goal. No thermometer donate meter in sight!
In addition, I see the IJ store lists a year subscription as costing $20 and a 6 month sub as $10. Are those prices true? I know we contemplated getting another slighly more expensive service.
To help raise the funds for IJ to move, in addition to the perm account sale and insane userpics sale, I was thinking it could be cool to have a Sweet Charity-esque auction, since IJ is so fandom friendly.
I'm more than willing to do all the behind-the-scenes organizational work, but I need to know if the community as a whole (meaning the IJ community, not this community) would be interested in supporting something like this. I know that reading through the comments on squeaky's most recent posts that a lot of people said they wished they had the money for a perm account to help out and maybe this would be a way for them to help - they can either donate their services as writers/artists/etc or bid what they can afford to purchase someone's services.
What do you guys think? Feel free to link to this post, so I can get a sense of the overall support I might have for a project like this.
Wow, I love the new format in the 'post entry" page. It seems like new stuff got added, including the Rich Text/HTML editor.Overall things are running alot more smoothly than they already were.
Credit is optional, but aristoboule or aristocons if you're so inclined. Comments are love! All may be used as bases or modified, and do not require credit. Hotlinkers are bad, bad people. Enjoy! :D
Anyone on this group know if there is a volunteer asylum somewhere on this site? I know that there is supposedly a way to sign up to provide help support for those that ask a question not covered in the FAQ, but there is no volunteer team asylum that would allow people to help with things here. Squeaky cant run it himself or with only a few helpers. and Im sure he is too busy workin on these new servers.
Anyone have a link that can direct me. I figure if I am stuck without income to buy an account here, I may as well give the gift of helping out........if it is needed of course.
Anyone know if there is an "invite button", or at least one that is in the works? I have more than a few friends that are tired of other blogging sites and I figure that sending them an invite might do the trick to get them here and see if this site is thier speed. Yeah, I could email them or IM them and just link to the main insanejournal site but I think an invite might be much more formal.
Hey squeaky! I am a gj refugee. I just wanna say on behalf of all former gj'ers who are now proud ij'ers, thanks for allowing us a place to stay. It's one of the most welcoming online places yet. Not to mention you keep up the site very well.
Okay. Im somewhat new to InsaneJournal (migrated during Strikeout2007 and been crossposting ever since) but Im already loving it. One thing that intrigues me though, is the squeaky mascot character. He reminds me of those smiley faces that you buy in a pack to enhance your emoticon experience.
Anyone know the origin of why squeaky looks the way that he does?
Allie Gator wants to add her 2cents here for Squeaky, too. Well, more like $30, as in honor of SysAdmin day, Allie Gator bought a friend of hers a Permanent Account. Since Allie already has one.
