The year is 1997. For months now, tensions have been rapidly rising among the inhabitants of the wizarding world. Finally, in June, the battle to end all battles began.

Hogwarts has always been seen as one of the safest places in the wizarding world. Under Dumbledore's reign, this feeling of security only grew. But, not even Dumbledore could stop the events of June 1, 1997 from happening. It started just after midnight. Students, dressed entirely in black, ran throughout the castle, injuring or, even, killing everyone they came across.

Panicked, many of the remaining students and faculty members fled from the castle, leaving Dumbledore alone with a few select professors and a handful of brave students, including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. The first leg of the battle was the easiest. The rogue students were subdued quickly. So quickly, in fact, that it soon became obvious that they were merely the decoys. Outside, the real battle was beginning.

The war lasted for hours. By noon, reinforcements (members of the Order, parents of Hogwarts students, and additional Death Eaters) had arrived to help out. By the time the sun started to set, it finally came to its bloody conclusion. Bodies lay strewn across the once hallowed Hogwarts grounds. Students huddled together, quietly sobbing, as they tried to avoid the Death Eaters' attentions. The remaining professors collapsed, too exhausted to go on.

Only Voldemort stood triumphant. To his left, Harry Potter lay very still. He moaned in pain, victim to many uses of the Cruciatus curse. A few feet away, Albus Dumbledore closed his eyes as he fell to the ground. With his dying breath, he made a wish: let it be fixed. The moment he died, his final wish took the form of a spell and sent the students (physically) closest to him hurtling back twenty-two years into the past.

The year is 1975. For months now, tensions have been slowly rising among the inhabitants of the wizarding world. Voldemort has been surreptitiously gaining followers and power. People have been disappearing mysteriously (both Muggles and wizards), and no one is sure who to trust. Their oldest friends and closest relatives have been acting strangely. As of June, the Death Eaters began to prepare for war.

At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, October 31, 1975 started out as a normal day. The sun rose. Students and professors woke up and went about their daily tasks. The sun set. The Halloween Feast began. And, twelve students from the future mysteriously appeared on the school grounds. Following the ordeal of the battle and Time Travel, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones, Luna Lovegood, Padma Patil, Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Pansy Parkinson, and Theodore Nott lay unconscious in the hospital wing for weeks.

Once they had woken up and come to terms with what had happened, they found themselves charged with a monumental task: They had seen the future. They knew what went right and what went wrong. Now, they just have to do something about it. Easy, right?
