Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

While this is certainly the last day of May and normally the last day of the real APAHM, the asylum will continue to post to make up for the week and a half missed due to real life concerns.

Due to real life concerns, apahm will be taking about a week long intermission from posting. Well, there might be some posting during that time, but no guarantees.

Take the time to enjoy what has been posted so far. There's still lots more to come!

(From the asylum profile) The month of May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and honor those who are Asian and Pacific Islander descended.

While APAHM in real world terms is about celebrating the heritage of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, I decided that the term was too narrow to fit the scopes of fandom (especially those characters in the sci-fi/fantasy realm that are played by Asian/Pacific Islander actors or characters who are Asian but aren't American) and have broadened it to include any Asian or Pacific Islander descended character and/or actor. /end

That said, I want to give apahm as much love as it deserves. Last year, I did a picspam and a roundup of fics. This year, I want to do more, much more, but I need help in the form of submissions.

I decided, for this year's APAHM, to move it off my personal journal and into an asylum of its very own. I am hoping that this time around I will have more things to roundup that celebration the wonderful diversity that is the Asian/Pacific Islander character/actor population within fandom.
