apahm! The month of May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and honor those who are Asian and Pacific Islander descended.

While APAHM in real world terms is about celebrating the heritage of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, I decided that the term was too narrow to fit the scopes of fandom (especially those characters in the sci-fi/fantasy realm that are played by Asian/Pacific Islander actors or characters who are Asian but aren't American) and have broadened it to include any Asian or Pacific Islander descended character and/or actor.

ETA: During the rest of the year, this asylum will be updated with icons of Asian/Pacific Islanders as there is a considerable lack of general PoC icons, especially of Asian/Pacific Islander backgrounds and APAHM shouldn't only be restricted to the month of May.
