i agree, i noticed this too. i noticed it was happening before the purge too. the normal time it ran each day where you could see the list load the new names? for a few weeks before the purge nothing was happening too. and now it's back to not purging
Considering this isn't LiveJournal and has never been run like LiveJournal, nor is it maintained by LiveJournal staff, I'm confused as to why you would be "stunned" that this is NOT LIVEJOURNAL. Their revenue here doesn't come rolling in the way it does over on LJ and things are run differently here so that we can continue having a service that works without having site staff that are so heavy-handed about the content of the journals on their site. If you want LJ features, go to LJ. Don't go to another site and complain like it's doing something wrong by functioning differently, that's just pointless.
In the past I have used a site called JournalWatcher to bulk upload icons to IJ (and other journal systems running on the same code). I used it a few weeks ago to upload icons to the journal healingsting. Today when I've been trying to use it to upload to this new journal, it keeps telling me it has completed, but not uploading icons. Others have noticed that lately it is unable to upload icons for them as well.

Nothing I did would upload icons yesterday, using the same technique at JW that I always use... on the other hand, I did find a tutorial on a file uploader for the Mac which actually does work, so I'll be using that now, unless JW works again. I can adapt!
