Username Purge

I didn't want to lump this in with the last post, but we are starting a username purge immediately. This is partially to help with site load as we want to purge unused data from the system. We are also doing it because of the number of requests we have gotten. Keep an eye out for e-mails from us if your account is caught up in this so you can save it.

If you do not un-delete your account within two weeks and it is purged, your data will be gone forever!

  if the content is THAT important to you, you should always keep backups and save it to your computer so that you can access it at any time. have you ever thought that the owner of the purged journal just doesn't care anymore and doesn't care whether or not you want to keep viewing the entries?

    Or that, possibly, they do care but they don't have time to keep track of their journals randomly being deleted. If I hadn't set up a list of my own journals, I would have missed some being deleted as I somehow missed linking that email to my main account. It can't always be chalked up to being lazy or not caring anymore.

      Honestly, anything I've ever cared about being deleted has been backed up and saved and I suggest you do the same for the future. The fact of the matter is, the person can't get to those journals or doesn't want to and they will be deleted, making room for people who are currently active on IJ and helping IJ to run efficiently.
