Username Purge

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry
I didn't want to lump this in with the last post, but we are starting a username purge immediately. This is partially to help with site load as we want to purge unused data from the system. We are also doing it because of the number of requests we have gotten. Keep an eye out for e-mails from us if your account is caught up in this so you can save it.

If you do not un-delete your account within two weeks and it is purged, your data will be gone forever!
  • date updated doesn't reflect the person's last login. the owner probably just logs into the account, which would explain why it has never been deleted or purged. i would just try sending the owner a pm and see if they would be willing to give it to you
    • i included that part because i'm saying that i highly doubt since the last time they updated (and it was literally 1 sentence about their friend inviting them to ij) was in 2004 when they uploaded their .bmp icon they've logged in but they've also ignored all like 5 comments that they've gotten in the past 8 years... probably haven't logged in, like i said in my comment :)
      • it doesn't matter. i know some people just don't want to let journals go and they'll simply log in to keep them. there's actually a lot of journals like that. the only way that journal was left out of the last purge is if they logged into it or if the account is paid. you said it wasn't a paid account, so then the person logged into it. i hope that info helps!
        • i'm aware of all that but ty for repeating common knowledge/stuff i said in my first comment ;)
          • then i guess you knew the answer all along! :D
          • If you were aware then asking was pretty... pointless.
          • The point that alaskayoung was trying to make is that it doesn't matter when their last date posted was. You can't see the login date. You asked why it wasn't purged and alaskayoung answered you - because the user logged in when they received an email during the last purge or because they log in from time to time to keep from having the account deleted because they don't want anyone else to have the username for whatever reason.
