Permanently Insane accounts

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry
From now until January 3rd we are going to be selling Permanently Insane accounts for their regular price of $50. In addition we are selling Permanent Extra Userpics for $25. This will bring the userpic total of your Permanently Insane account to 500 for the life of your account.
  • Get one now people, they are awesome. :)
  • Wait, $25 for permanent extra userpics? Is that a mistake?
    • No, we decided that the $10 price was too low to continue supporting this item. So we decided to make them the price of a 1 year paid account. Considering that we are offering them for the lifetime of the account, we still consider this to be a good value.
  • Will there be another sale on regular paid accounts (6 month, etc.) for the holidays? I'd love to get one for my icon comm.

    thanks! :)
  • I'm still having issues with live.com mail and comments and now SBCGlobal also seems to be having issues as well.
    • I'm still having issues with aim.com, too. It even got worse. Before, I was at least getting some notifs after a while. Now they've stopped entirely.
      • SBCGlobal was great today and then I checked it just now and got a comment two hours late. I don't get any comments from community posts with live mail.
  • I have a suggestion! :D A 'community' package would be really good. I keep thinking about getting some of my communities paid accounts but then stop because on a community i wouldn't want or need the 250(?) extra userpics but I would want the additional S2 things and more links and things. I imagine if there was something like this in place which gives you the additional S2/links and that kind of stuff without the userpics people might purchase it? I know I would for some of my RPG's as it'd be quite useful.

Just a suggestion, I'm not sure if it's something which could be put in place but it'd be kind of awesome if it could.
  • The notifs aren't working. :(
  • I don't mean to be a bother, but it appears as though notifications aren't working for anyone. The problem has been persisting for several days now. :-/
    • I completely respect that some people are having problems, but that's not true at all. They're working perfectly for me and several other people I know. The problems seem to be occurring with people who are using AIM, live.com, and SBCGlobal e-mails.
      • Well I've checked with the AOL settings and it isn't being sent to spam folders. So what do we do?
        • I've recommended switching to a gmail address to see if you receive them there, just as an experiment. That would clearly identify whether there's a problem with notifications for your account, or notifications on AOL.
          • its still the same person just a different journal. Gmail isnt working either. I can't even get a confirmation email for a journal I created.
          • I am also not getting them more than a few random ones on a gmail account. And for a few accounts didn't even get the confirm your email address email (one on a gmail and one on a live) so now I can't even post from a few accounts.
      • I use gmail and I'm not getting mine.
      • I use gmail and I'm not getting ANY to this account and on my other accounts, they're spotty at best. I'll get some directly to my journal, but not responses to comments I've left elsewhere or sometimes I don't even get notifications to comments left in the journal either. After talking to at least half a dozen other people and considering the variety of email servers used, I think it's more likely an IJ issue and not an issue with particular e-mail accounts. It probably has more to do with the clusters the journals are on, rather than the email server used.
        • If people on gmail are experiencing difficulties too, you're probably right. Up until yesterday, the only comments on news posts mentioned AIM, SBCGlobal, live.com, or none at all.
          • Any idea when they'll be back?
          • I only just noticed I was having problems the day before yesterday and I imagine that's part of the reason more people haven't complained-- if they're getting notifications here and there, they might not even know they're missing some.
            • It may be a combination of the two. I know that people on AIM and live.com have a history of getting poor/no notifications all the time, and Squeaky has stated in the past that some e-mail providers reject InsaneJournal e-mails as spam. But it sounds like there's another component to it in the last few days.
              • I agree. I think that with whatever problems do exist on a consistent basis, they seem to be kicked up a notch. My friend uses live.com for one of her journals and for the most part, she only misses notifications every once in a while. Now she's having the exact same problem I am, so I'm apt to believe that while aim.com and live.com may always cause problems, the problem now lies in the site releasing notifications for certain journals. I even have multiple gmail addresses I use and it's the same whether I switch them around to other servers or not.
      • Yeah, half my players are on Gmail and aren't getting notifs. So that's incorrect. And I use Yahoo.
  • Notifications seem to be having a LOT of issues. is that a site issue? Because I'm not the only one having it and it isn't my email provider.
  • I'm getting spotty notifications too, and I use gmail.
    • Same here.
    • spotty is a good word because i use gmail and recieve most of mine, or i recieve some late
      • Having the same issue here - I use Gmail for all my journals and am getting some notifications on some emails, none on others - it's all very intermittent and muddled.
  • i use gmail and i am receiving few notifications
  • Do you think that not aknowleding the week long (longer than that, even!) notification problem here or on twitter that it will fix itself? How can IJ expect to sell accounts when we clearly see that the site is acting as a "defective" product. The game this journal runs is doing well and I thought about doing a paid account. I'm not going to pay for a paid account if my players can't get notifications to play. YOU ARE KILLING MY GAME.
  • bad, it isnot accept
  • A question for squeaky re: permanent accounts! I bought permanent time on this account, but have found that it would be put to better use on another name I have. Can I have the permanent status moved to the other account?
  • Please start accepting credit cards :| I don't have checks, mom wanted to buy me a paid account on her card for Christmas and does not want a paypal account. Cash through the mail is sketchy..but apparently my only option here.
    • It is my understanding that you can use a credit card with paypal without opening a paypal account.
      • Hm..well it's to late this time, but I guess for the next time I will have to try that way. I sent the order through snail mail already today (12/21) Does the paid account get activated only when the card is received?
  • Darn it! I don't get paid until the 4th. I would totally have bought one...
