Firefox and the rich text editor

Mozilla recently release a security update to 2.0 version of firefox. This version, 2.0.0.17, causes issues with our Rich Text Editor and therefore breaks the update page. Until we can come up with a resolution for this, either upgrade firefox to 2.5 or 3.0, or use a different browser. You can also use the mobile update page at http://www.insanejournal.com/mobile/post.bml

Word from LJ is that they're developing a fix, should be available in the next code release.

They can also use the HTML editor... that's probably a little more convenient than the mobile posting page.

I had the same problem with my FF 3.0 but I hardly use the rich text editor.

I had filed a support ticket about a rich text problem with Firefox 3.0.1. I just noticed Firefox is trying to update me again, not sure to let it or not. I wish I hadn't done this last one. :(

it was broken in firefox 3 as well, but the second update from the browser this week fixed the problem in that version at least.

Another new error, just popped up today: when you go to post to a custom group, that's it. Only 'custom' pops up: no tick boxes for the actual groups. It lets me post, and if I edit the entry, the custom groups pop up but unchecked.

Also; is the icon browser something to do with the LJ source code as it's been missing for a while now, along with Rich Text?

Am I the only person who's getting errors like this all over the site:

Hiya Squeaky,

I'm not sure if you are able to help on this matter, and I am well aware it has little to do with Firefox, but I'd like to report a problem that has been plaguing a role-play community here on LJ as well as several role-play character journals.

Posts are begin spammed with anonymous, sexually inappropriate comments (I don't have a source IP address for you at the moment, but I will if/when it happens again). It started about a week ago, and the number of comments has been increasing to now about 2 a day. This is highly upsetting as well as offensive, and although anonymous posting has been turned off these effected journals, I was wondering if this is a wider problem and if there is anything you can do about it?

hey squeaky, i just have one quick question. as you know, there are issues with tmobile/tmail users receiving notifs and because of this, my friend can't retrieve the usernames she has registered to her tmail address. is there any possible way to get the usernames registered with this tmail address sent to another email? like, could you or one of the other staffies look them up in the system or something?
