Continuing Hotmail Issues
I am aware of the continuing issues with hotmail. Currently they are flagging all mail coming from our servers as dangerous spam and deleting it before it gets to your inboxes. I do have a line of communication open with them and we are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. But I am not sure if or when they will start accepting InsaneJournal email. Until then I would suggest that you do not use a hotmail account for your email with InsaneJournal.

UPDATE: I just heard back from Microsoft and they are saying that users should start receiving our emails in the next 24-48 hours. And after that the system will be retrained on our emails so they should not get blocked in the future.

If anyone wants G-Mail invitations, I have about 300 or so.

There's also setting up remailers. Send the IJ mail to the remailer, then Hotmail gets it from the remailer, not IJ.

Hotmail did the same thing when I transferred my lj email to them for a while; I'm also not getting some newsletters I signed up for.

Hey Mr. Squeaky. I think there is already a support ticket opened, but I believe this may be happening at GMail as well but only with the first initial account verification email. Just an FYI. Support 1404 ticket describes what happens.

One would thing getting whitelisted would be a simple process.

Of course, I stopped expecting Hotmail to be competent ages ago. Your patience is impressive, Squeaky.

Hotmail has never impressed me with its reception/nonreception policies. They're nearly as "good" as AOHell.

Thanks for staying on top of this, and good luck getting them to...you know...act human.

Im curious. When your system sends mail to hotmail users of IJ, does it even land in their 'BULK/JUNK" folder? Im curious because I have problems sending mail to a hotmail user. Basically, if I send directly from the server (no pop3, no involvement with my computer whatsoever) to a hotmail address, it gets through. However when I send to that mail using the same "from" account but doing it via my computer (pop3) hotmail doesnt even send that mail to the Junk folder.

...I see. So, the 200 spam messages my hotmail box gets a day offering me viagra and other pharmaceutical drugs at discount prices, or underage teenage girl sex are acceptable spam

but comment notifications are "dangerous" are they? Oh, hotmail. Good thing I only use that email specifically for signing up for things I assume are going to spam me.

Squeaky, you are awesome! I don't use my Hotmail account too often now but I'm sure that pretty much everyone here appreciates the time and effort that you put into the site and any issues (like Hotmail!) that may pop up.

heya squeaky, not sure if you're aware or not, but i've been getting a heavy amount of proxy server errors and some ugly ass pages like the skript is fuqked. it looks like someone seriously borked the layout.
not sure if others are reporting of this, but just incase.
if you need screen shots or stuff, i have.

This isn't about the Hotmail issues, but I thought you should know about this. For the past 15 minutes or so, I've been getting 502 Proxy errors every couple of minutes, my icons won't load properly, I can't edit my profile, and then this happened.....

[Error: Bizarre copy of ARRAY in sassign at /home/lj/cgi-bin/Cache/Memcached.pm line 551. @ dink.insanewebhosting.com]

Any idea what's going on here?
