We have decided on a logo for IJ merchandise. 2 People will be getting credit for it, because one had the idea, the other is doing the actual art. Congrats to you both.

I will release names and the logo as soon as the finished art is done.

Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry. I know it took much longer than we expected, but due to hurricanes and money issues and other unexpected ickiness things kept getting pushed back.

Now.. I'd like to get some input on what kinds of merchandise youd like to see (im pretty sure we did this once before, but i forgot).

What kind of merchandise would you purchase from InsaneJournal?

Just so everyone knows what's going on. InsaneJournal has been running very stable for a long long time. I attribute this to our low amount of traffic. However, since yesterday, we have had a dramatic increase in traffic. It appears a number of users from GreatestJournal have decided to check InsaneJournal out. We were not prepared for this and as a result the site went down. We noticed this at about 9:30PM and were able to restore service by 10:30PM.

After this, a decision was made to upgrade the amount of RAM in the server. The server went down at 11:08 PM to perform this upgrade and was back up at 11:24PM (all times EST). We do apologize to any users who were inconvenced by this and we are doing our best to stabilize things and do not forsee any further downtime. Though if this growth does continue, we will be forced to further upgrade the server, and to do this we need money. So if you want to help out, and you like the community the InsaneJournal provides, please purchase a Self-Commited[paid] or Permanently Insane (never expires) account.

Okay, this one is pretty big news. Me and insanity have been extremely moved and upset by the devastation of the Tsunami's over in South Asia. We want to do our part to help. So for now until the end of January, one half of all of the proceeds raised for paid accounts (before all of our costs) will be donated to the Red Cross to help aid those in need.
