  • Thank you for all the things! Your site is one of my favorite things about the internet.
  • What [info]bing said....
  • Squeaky, can you check your pms please
  • Hey, Squeaky.

That gross foot ad is back.

  • i'm just wondering, are permanent accounts back for good (@$50) for the new year, or are they gone after the 31? thanks!
  • squeaky Captchas are not working on Anon comments
  • will permanent extra userpics still be available after the 31st?
  • Hey, [info]squeaky. I've had my account since June of 2004, before the big LJ exodus after the strikethrough drama. I don't use these sorts of journaling sites as much anymore, the support groups I need are mainly on Facebook. (I've looked; not even the juggernaut of LiveJournal has anything in the way of metastatic cancer support, nor does Reddit, at least not for breast cancer.)

But my wife and I were just talking, when she had a heart-attack moment while buying a rename token for an old community of ours, when she thought she accidentally renamed her personal account. I mentioned that if it had happened, there was always the option of being able to contact you and explain the error and see what could be done, and we'd buy more tokens and do what you needed us to do so you could help us fix it, if necessary.

And when I said that, I realized... I have not said in far too long something that's crossed my mind plenty of times, but I've never told you, at least not for years... I appreciate so very much all you have done in providing this site. The work you put in to make this possible, maintaining it, and being so accessible, helpful, and dedicated and friendly. That's becoming so rare. I don't know how long you'll want to keep IJ running, but while we have it, I do recognize that this is a gift, a privileged, not something we're entitled to. And it's your generosity and amazing kindness that makes it as possible and wonderful as it is.

I still do use it, just not so much, but I still love knowing I have it if I ever need to come 'home'.

Thank you, Squeaky, for everything. It doesn't go unnoticed, or unappreciated. You make the world brighter with your heart.
    • Thank you. It's nice to get reminded every now and then why I still do this and haven't just sold it off.
  • captchas aren't working for anon comments
