Earth has long been a battleground for the cosmic forces of the universe. Its star seed, the Golden Crystal of Elysion, has suffered greatly from the many battles fought there and especially from the repeated attacks it endured. During one especially brutal conflict, it shattered and when it was restored, a sliver remained alone, festering in the spirit of the planet. This pain and anguish grew with each subsequent battle, absorbing the energy from the other star seeds that fought around it. When Sailor Galaxia was eventually defeated, the subsequent release of energy echoed throughout the universe and awoke this dormant fragment of the Golden Crystal.

Empowered by its years of anguish, this corrupted star seed grew into a powerful being who took the name Sailor Earth. She read the threads of the universe and realized that all the star seeds that had plagued her planet were resting in the Galactic Cauldron, waiting to re-emerge. Convinced that these crystals were the source of her pain and suffering, Sailor Earth determined to destroy them so that they could never again ruin a world the way she believes they ruined hers.

With a great display of power, she summoned the star seeds from the cauldron back to Earth and began to lay a trap. She would draw them together, hunt them down, and destroy them, one by one. Only when the last star seed is ground into dust will she rest. Then all the world will feel the full force of nature and her wrath.
