Captain Kain Highwind's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake
Before beginning, ensure that the oven's temperature is set to 350 F. You will require, by way of equipment, a hand mixer and a jelly-roll pan (or else a 13x9 pan), the latter greased and floured.

The ingredients are as follows:
1 package super-moist yellow cake mix
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, densely packed
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
12 oz. chocolate chips, divided in half - better if they be the miniature variety, but ordinary chips will do if the miniatures are unavailable.

With the mixer, beat together the sugar, cake mix, and peanut butter until crumbly. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl well. Do not permit any stray Dark Knights to steal the crumbly mixture. Set aside 2/3 cup of the crumbly mixture for later.

Mix in eggs, water, and oil, beating until smooth and creamy. Add half the chocolate chips. Pretend you do not notice if any White Mages present have been nibbling on the chocolate, and certainly do not watch them lick their fingers.

Once well-mixed, pour the batter into your pan. Scatter over the top the remaining chocolate chips, and the reserved cake mixture. Chase Dark Knights out of the kitchen when they attempt to lick the bowl before you ae fairly done.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes if using the jelly-roll pan, or 40-45 minutes if using a 13x9. Allow to cool somewhat, and ensure that the lady is served the first slice, with cold milk.

Yep! It'll puff up not quite to the edge, and it's this lovely thin cake that is delicious. I'm having a hard time not bolting straight into the kitchen to eat the one I just made for ACen, but it would burn my mouth still!

omnomnom I'll have to try this. When I feel like I need a reward or something, because oh man, I'm gonna eat the whole thing. o.o;; Maybe it'll freeze well?

I'm honestly not sure! If some of the ingredients worked out more easily, I'd suggest maybe splitting the recipe in half....The only thing I'd be a little concerned about freezing is the peanut butter, since most cake mixes can freeze rather well.

It is so good! I am wiggling in impatience for the boy to be done his project so I can have some because I think he would be fussy if I started without him!
