Hermione nodded. She would help almost anyone who asked her and would do anything for those she considered friends. She would have helped Luna with almost anything if she had come to her for help. "Right," she agreed with a slightly-happier smile.
If her cheeks were red before, the weird sort-of-compliment practically made them glow. Hermione was sure that Luna hadn't meant it that way but in the context of all that as going on, she couldn't stop her mind from going there.
It also made her think that Luna had quite a nice body herself... And pretty eyes... And nice hair...
Hermione shook her head. What was wrong with her. It wasn't that she didn't fancy girls but was now really the time to fixate on those things? Plus, she hadn't really done much with girls or dated any so the sudden fixation of girls and what they could do together, that was nearly constant, had to be related to her...problem.
"I... Well..." Hermione stammered. "...it's not really something you can readily see. Something, one major thing, is different than it was and...I really don't know what to do about it."
"How well do you know...human anatomy?" she asked Luna, trying to sound academic. Maybe academics would save her once again?
As they spoke, Hermione's voice was a soft whisper. Merlin, no one had better overhear them.
