Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

Lisa and Allyson had been up and down the entire house, decorating with their loved ones and playing with the little ones as they put up the decorations they had used for the past couple of years. As it was, now it was early morning on a Thursday, and some very important guests were due to show up at any moment within the next hours.

Allyson, already up and ready was busy preparing some food for their guests, making the entire house smell delicious as she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes falling on Marcos. He was the adopted one, and it seemed that he was wide awake and drawn down by the smell. Smiling as the boy came up and hugged her leg, she reached down for a moment to run her fingers through his short hair, bending over to kiss his forehead. "Go get your mother, Marcos."

And the little boy did.
---

Lisa sang softly to herself, the warm water coming down upon her in a very soothing way to wake up. She hadn't seen if anyone else was awake yet, and Gabby seemed to still be deep in sleep. She didn't feel the need to disturb that.

Washing her hair, she continued to hum to herself...

Allyson hadn't even looked at her. Gabrielle felt so wounded, but she knew her mate must be hurting even more right now. Lisa was there, though, but she couldn't tell how mad she was at her.

"Broke fingers. Marisol healed them," she mumbled, shaking her head. "Non, non one okay."

How could they be after all that had happened? Shuffling back inside, the French witch didn't know what to do now. Hearing another question, she looked back to where Lisa was still.

"Marisol put eet on my finger. I threw eet off there."

Lisa nodded. Why did her mother give Gabby that ring? Making it disappear into thin air, she'd ask later. Right now, Lisa needed to make sure Allyson really was okay. Gabrielle was already ahead of her anyway.

"I see." She nodded, going up the stairs now.

Ally had all her children in bed with her, the children clinging to her as best they could as they slept. Alexander Turpin sat in a chair across from the woman, looking worried. One daughter managed to roll away, but clung onto her sister.

"Ally?" Lisa asked, entering the room slowly. Ally lifted her head as she looked to her younger sister, nodding. Lisa went to the woman, her hand immediately landing on Marcos' head, running through the soft hair.

"I almost lost them." Ally lamented, looking at them. Her family was everything to them. Even as Marcos stirred beneath her touch, she glanced back to look at Gabrielle.

Lagging behind Lisa, Gabrielle took the stairs slowly. Lingering at the door to the room everyone was in, she half hid behind the doorway. Allyson looked upset and stressed, but otherwise fine. That was good, she had been worried about her.

Averting her eyes, she couldn't face the older woman. Was she already thinking how if Gabrielle hadn't punished Fleur that this might not have happened? Gabrielle was thinking it.

It was Ally's fault, if anything. The older woman was always rational. She always stopped what she thought was unfair, stood for what she thought was right, and put her foot down when she had to...but she had been tired today. She should have done her duty.

Gabby wasn't coming in. Ally took note. "Gabrielle?" She called, beckoning her over. She patted the bed behind her daughters, wanting Gabrielle to sleep with her.

"I-i'll go, help your mother and all that." Alexander excused himself, making his way out to help his wife.

Lisa took Marcos in her arms, the boy cuddling up to her immediately as she held him. She pressed her face against Ally's shoulder, feeling her sister nuzzle back tiredly. Earlier, she had wanted to cuddle Gabrielle. Now she wanted the two girls to sleep with her. Lisa reached over and grabbed a towel, keeping it against her shoulder. She was too tired to heal too...

The blonde shrunk back, disappearing behind the door frame entirely. It gave room for Mr. Turpin to leave unimpeded. Gabrielle was too afraid and ashamed to go into the bedroom. She was the one who didn't deserve them. Turning away, she left and went to her own room.

The bed was still stained by Marisol, so she just crawled under the bed and curled up. Now that all the excitement was over, the loss of Fleur from their bond began to hit her fully. Being part-Veela, it was a thousand times worse for her. Shaking uncontrollably as the illness swept over her, she needed to be alone in her shame and despair.

Her family had done this to them...and after what she had done today, her family would never take her back...

Allyson sent Lisa away to get Gabrielle immediately. The older woman closed her eyes as she kept her Children close, afraid of losing them. She was going to protect them with everything she had.

Lisa walked the hallway down to her room, entering. She didnt see Gabby, but she figured she was where the woman almost always hid when she felt bad. Under the bed. Leaning down, she looked at her.

"Gabby?" She knew the Veela was feeling bad..."Come out please?" She said softly, hoping the Veela would.

Not always! It was just where she hid by instinct. It was way better then a closet, at least. Gabrielle pretended not to hear Lisa, for it was surely her wife trying to cajole her out.

She just wanted to be alone now, though. The Veela couldn't face her mates after what had happened, and it was too painful to be around Allyson and Fleur's children. They were a reminder of her sister. She didn't even want to live here anymore...

It didn't work.

Lisa flipped over to lay on her back and shimmied under the bed with Gabby, looking over at her wife. She wanted to hug her, hold her close, the blonde looked so hurt. Hoping Gabrielle wouldn't pull away, she wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into her body, spooning her from behind.

What would Gabby do? Would she let her hold her in silence?

Gabrielle didn't pull away, but she didn't help either. The blonde just laid there, quietly suffering. It was going to take time to get better and rebuild what they had. This had turned out to be the worst Christmas ever.

Eventually they would have to get up and face the world again, but for now Gabrielle hid. Allyson may still have her children, but Gabrielle had lost one...the one Fleur carried inside her. She might never get to meet her now.

What a dismal disaster...
