Who: Abigail Malfoy and Rose Weasley
What: Prefect' Rounds
When: Tuesday, September 10. 11pm
Where: The halls near Hufflepuff Tower, to start
Abigail pouted as she walked through the corridors. Her uniform was immaculate and her silver Prefect badge gleamed with an emerald tint in the dim light of the torches. Blowing a lock of hair out of her face, Abigail wondered how much longer was left in her rounds.
Pulling her cloak up around her, she silently cursed the cool Scotland air. She should have been in bed getting her beauty sleep. However, she was out wandering the halls. Abigail had meant to check the Prefect schedule to see if she had a disproportionate share of shifts. It certainly seemed like it!
It was only the second week of school and she was sick of rounds already. Why couldn't she just have the fun parts of being a Prefect without all the duties?!
Her wand was tucked away deep in her cloak as she completed the first part of her rounds. Abigail arrived at the Great Hall and saw the clock there and groaned. Why was it still so early!?!
She still had almost two hours left in rounds. Abigail pulled her cloak even tighter and started in the direction of Hufflepuff Tower. Rounds were always so boring. She almost never caught anyone out. And, the times she might, she made sure to stay far away from any suspicious noises. All that dealing with giving someone lines or detention was just too much!
Coming around the corner, Abigail stopped up short when she almost collided with someone. She slapped a hand over her mouth to stifle a squeak of shock.
