Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Mandy and Roger
When: Friday evening
Where: Roger's flat
What: Making Toby feel better
Rating: G
Status: Incomplete

Not being a mother, and hardly used to the sort of things children could be up to, Mandy thought Toby's illness was a lot more complicated than it surely was. Ever since seeing Roger's note in the journals, Mandy had been busy making a potion for Toby. She'd also prepared them dinner, certain that Roger had been just a bit too busy to cook much of anything. And wasn't there something about chicken soup being good for when one wasn't feeling well? It didn't help that Mandy hadn't really seen Toby in over a week, and was feeling rather bad about it. The little boy was truly her favourite, and she adored him to pieces. As much as he adored her, or so she hoped anyway.

As for seeing Roger? Part of her was really excited, she had missed him more than she was really willing to admit, and the rest of her? The rest of her was afraid what sort of ridiculous thing she was going to say to him. The last two times she'd seen him things had pretty much exploded, and it was lucky they weren't at each other's throats. She hoped this time could be a little better, although she sincerely doubted it.

Once the potion was ready, Mandy had filtered it from the cauldron into a vial for her to carry. Having slipped that into her purse, she waived her wand at the pot on the hot place (well,it was useful for something, right?) and stirred the soup a few more times, before waiving her wand again, and levitating the hot pot toward the container she'd gotten just just that reason. A few more spells and everything was right and clean again, so Mandy could finally go. As she was still in the Leaky, Mandy was able to quickly make her way from the pub into Diagon Ally and toward Roger's place. Once she'd reached the now familiar door, Mandy paused, and knocked on the door.

Roger had been upstairs and down repeatedly all morning. Though he knows Tobias was probably playing up the illness for some much needed attention it didn't mean he didn't have a little worry in the back of his head. It seemed his son perked up a bit whenever he walked in to read to him or to bring him more tea, it was like suddenly Toby could do everything he did before the cold. Then when Roger was heading back to the shop he drooped down a bit and seemed sad. It wasn't like he meant to be a bad father but the business boomed no matter what the crisis so he was always working.

Tobias of course couldn't understand it. Why did his father always have to be downstairs in the shop instead of upstairs with him? Fidgeting in the sheets he mumbled something as Roger headed for the door again hoping to get some things organized before Tobias needed him once more. The little boy grabbed his stuffed bear his grandmother gave him and let out a small sigh. It was rough being the only child of a busy man, but at least he didn't have to wait for ever for Roger to come home from games anymore.

When the knock was heard Tobias sat straight up eyes wide as saucers, "Da!!!" he yelled hoping Roger could hear him. Roger had barely made the side door into the shop when he heard Toby calling him. "Coming," he grunted a bit flying back up the stairs. Hearing the knock again he realized it was the door and not Tobias who was trying to get his attention. Opening the door he let out a small exhausted sigh and gave Mandy an awkward smile, "Ello" he voice was soft and there was a hint of hidden sadness, "Come right in" Roger opened the door so Mandy could come in. "Da who is it?!" Tobias called out from his room impatience as always taking over the little boy.

Mandy waited patiently for roger to answer the door. She expected it to take a minute or two for Roger to answer the door, depending on how busy Roger was. When Roger opened the door, Mandy had such a strong urge to hug him, though based on the look on his face, Mandy decided better of it. He looked incredibly stressed and she was sure that trying to run the shop and deal with a fussy little boy was hardly easy. He likely didn't want to see her either.

"It's me, poppet." Mandy called up the stairs hearing Tobia as she walked inside of the flat. She looked over at Roger and gave him her best 'I got this' smile. "You look busy. I'll handle Toby, and if you'd like to have some dinner, I've brought soup." She said with another awkward smile before running up the stairs toward Toby's room. She paused as she reached the door, and leaned against the door frame. "'ello, little bugger. I hear you're not feeling well. I've brought you something."

He was stunned to see how prepared she was, but he wasn't sure why he was shocked at all. It was of course Mandy he was talking about here. She was always prepared for the nonsense the Davies boys found themselves in. It was partly what made him love her as much as he did though he knew she wanted no part of that now. He would have to accept it and learn to live with that.

Tobias heard her voice and was scurrying about his bed trying to clean up the tissues and empty cups of tea on his night stand. When she arrived he beamed up at her, "Mands!" He exclaimed happily. At least Roger wouldn't have to explain to him why she wasn't around as much. Tobias sat up happily looking at her with a smile, "You brought me something?" He was secretly hoping for another gift, his father took the whistle away for blowing it in his ear while he slept. "What is it?"

Roger leaned on the wall opposite the room and watched shaking his head with a small chuckle. It would be an ideal time to nap. But he couldn't do that just now.

Having caught the last seconds of Tobias scurrying about on the bed, mandy had actually been rather pleased to see that he cared that much. It was really quite adorable. Then again, most things Toby did were. Stepping into the room, Mandy went over to Tobias' bed and sat down at the edge as she leaned in to give him a hug and brush her lips against his forehead. Placing her purse on her lap, Mand reached in and fished out the vial with the potion.

"I've got something that will make you allll better," she said with a smile as she uncorked the vial and held it out for Tobias. "Now drink up love, and when you get better daddy and I will take you to the park. And I've brought you both dinner, since I'm sure you've been making it fairly difficult around here, haven't you poppet?"

Mandy hadn't noticed Roger on the wall yet, making sure that the little boy was taken care of first. After all, it was him who she was here to see, even is she was secretly very happy to have seen Roger as well.

Tobias made a face when she pulled the potion out for him to take. It made Roger chuckle looking at his little boy cringing with the potion in his hand. "You heard her Tobias, take it all." It was in his best interest to take it anyway.

"Now what do we say," Roger asked him while Toby smiled weakly still not pleased with the potion but he got up and gave her a big hug. "The park really?" The little boy completely forgot to say thank you but was thrilled to be around Mandy again. Bouncing a bit out of bed he looked at her, "He likes being out of the shop anyway." It had been a while since he had soup so he was excited for a change of pace.

Roger leaned against the door frame with arms crossed, "Oh he hasn't been that terrible have you Toby?" Toby shook his head and hopped out of bed running towards the kitchen completely passing Roger. "So sick eh?" He rolled his eyes watching his son dash off.

It was funny, the way Tobias reacted to the potion. She had expected as much, children rarely liked to take potions, she knew she hadn't when she was little. Mandy didn't mind at all that Tobias didn't thank her. It was just the sort of thing children tended to do, and was pretty much what she expected. She laughed and nodded at the comment. "Oh I will definitely take you, as for your da, that's up to him," she said with a smile as she hugged Tobias back. Merlin she really had missed him.

Mandy laughed as she watched Tobias bounce up and out of the room. No longer five years old, Mandy took just a little longer to get up and follow Tobias out of his room. Passing by Roger, she gave him a tight smile. "Something tells me he just missed being fussed over," she said softly as she passed him and followed Tobias into the kitchen. Pulling out her wand, she set the table fairly quickly and then cast a few spells to distribute the soup.

Roger followed the two and helped Tobias gather the cups. Tobias loved to help him out, it was his way of showing his father how big he has gotten and that he can take on responsibility. Roger took the time to get him a glass of water and he poured himself some butter beer as well as Mandy. Also leaving a pitcher with water and spare glasses if they were thirsty.

It took them a little time before everything was set and he took his seat beside her. "This was really nice of you Mands, you didn't have to go through the trouble of doing all this." He knew if she hadn't he would have gone to the tavern and purchased some soup for his son, anything to be sure he was eating something because Roger was too tired to function sometimes.

Mandy thanked Tobias as he helped out a bit with the setting of the table. It was rather grown up of him, and quite nice as well. Once the table was set, the soup heated and everything was ready, Mandy settled down in her chair and smiled at Roger as he sat down next to her.

"I know," Mandy said with a smile. She shook her head as if were no real troubled, which it really wasn't. "I don't mind though, I feel like I should take care of my boys, even if I can't manage anything better than a simple chicken soup," she said with a grin as she looked over first at Toby and then at Roger. "But eat up, it should be good."

He chuckled softly as Tobias began to chatter to them both in his little way. "Seems he is happy to see you." Taking a sip of the soup he leaned over to her hand and gave it a squeeze, "I am happy to see you too." His face was soft and any anger he held from the other day was long gone.

"I was thinking of finding him a nanny to watch over him during the day while I'm at work. My Grandmother is too kind to say no to watching him all the time but I feel bad that I always lean on her. I just need to find him someone to watch him," someone who treat him right. "I know he doesn't like the idea but it needs to be done." Taking another spoonful he looked up at her, "Very good Mandy, you out did yourself."

Mandy smiled over at Tobias, occasionally smiling and nodding as he spoke. "I'm happy to see you both," Mandy said with a smile as she looked over at Roger. As he reached out to squeeze her hand, Mandy felt her skin tingle at the gesture. She turned her palm around and gave her hand a squeeze as he laced her fingers with his and didn't let go for a at least a minute as she smiled over at Tobias again. She only let go as she needed to reach for her spoon.

"I think that's a good idea. I love your nan, and I'm sure Toby does too, but it isn't fair to her, especially as someone's a little energetic, isn't he?" she added the bit as she looked across the table at Tobias. Taking another spoonful Mandy found herself blushing slightly at the compliment. At least she hadn't burned the soup.

The sparks were felt by both of them. Roger liked her holding his hand, it made him smile. When she let go and his hand grew cold again he felt a small frown form. It was a nice feeling to be touched by someone he actually felt for something for.

"Well you know she adores you, it goes without saying. It will kill her not to have the little nipper around all the time but then again she will probably get tired of having to chase this little ball of energy everywhere." He finished soup with a warm smile "Brilliant, I must say I wish I could cook that well." Tobias nodded and Roger ruffled his hair "Shush you."

It was odd to get that feeling in her stomach when touching Roger. She'd never felt like that, at least not until recently, and she kind of wanted to reach out for him again. She would have too, if it hadn't seemed so incredibly obvious. Instead she reached out for another spoonful.

"That's because your gran is a brilliant and insightful woman, and she knows people brilliant like her when she sees them," she said with a grin at Roger. "Well, I'll be happy to come over and cook for both of you more often. It's loads nicer here than in the hotel," she bit her lower lip then as she thought about the Leaky and her current 'home'. She really did need to get a new place and very soon.

That feeling had been in his stomach for years when she was around. Mandy always had that way about her. Roger had been feeling his affection for her since practically day one, even though at first he didn't know what it was that he felt. It was just him picking on the girl who got his attention first but when that turned into affection and then to a feeling he never felt prior Roger was scared.

His reputation left him impossible to nail down, but Roger wanted her to make him an honest man, to keep him tied down to someone he cared deeply for.

"She always liked you Mands, there was probably a good reason for that but I can't recall." Roger pretended to try and think of a good reason and he acted as if he failed to do so. "Nope, got nothing." He let his hand graze hers when going for his butter beer. "You live in a hotel still? Bloody hell Mands why didn't you come over here I have a couch and we can always make it into a bed." He didn't know she still hadn't found a place to stay.

It likely was Roger's reputation that kept Mandy from ever considering him. Oh she'd fancied Terry for ages, but that had faded much over the years, and Roger? well with his thousands of girls all of them lovelier than she, it had always placed her quite firmly in the friends zone.

She laughed and rolled her eyes at Roger's . As his hand grazed hers, Mandy felt her stomach flip, and she couldn't help but gasp a little. Biting her lower lip she looked over at Toby. "Well, you might not appreciate me, but Toby loves me, right poppet? And your big, mean daddy is just too blind, aye?" Mandy said as she leaned forward smiling so as to get Toby to agree with her. "I didn't want to impose," she paused as Roger offered her to stay at his place. That was ever so tempting. She wanted to, but at the same time, it would likely be the worst thing she could do right now. "I'm not sure that's such a good idea - I mean you don't need me to use up your food, and hog your bathroom, I really should find a place of my own."

Roger never could quite figure out why she liked Terry in the first place. He didn't have anything to off, he never played Quidditch and he wasn't fit like himself. Maybe he was just cocky, okay he was definitely cocky, but Roger found himself a much better match for her. When she snipped at him he gave it right back, knowing book he would roll over and play dead. Not an attractive quality.

"Ah, Toby doesn't know any better." Toby practically spit out his soup laughing at his dad, "I do too!" His voice was high an squeaky. "Right whatever you say" Toby hopped over to her and cuddled Mandy again, "He thinks I don't know any better." He pouted and then giggled squeezing her, "Yeah Mands stay with us! You can stay in my room!" Roger looked shocked hearing Tobias being so selfless, "Toby don't you think you will miss sleeping in your tiny bed, besides Mandy could sleep on the pull out couch bed." His arms crossed he smirked, "Mandy come on you know you can stay here besides someone has to eat up all our food and you can't hog a bathroom when you know full well you're not high maintenance."

"That's because daddy's a mean bully. You know loads better." Mandy murmured as she gave Toby a light squeeze when he ran over to her. Pulling Tobias onto her lap, Mandy gave the little boy a squeeze and a light tickle. "That's sweet, lovey, but daddy's right. Your bed's just a bit small. But it's sweet of you to offer," she gave his side another tickle. "Unlike somepeople" she said as she gave Roger a look over Tobias' head. Laughing, Mandy threw up her hands in defeat. "All right, All right. I give in. Mind, I do need a place of my own soon enough."

"Bully? Me, a bully?" He nudged her and Tobias snickered wrapping his arms around Mandy with glee. "Lies and I am sorry but if you are going to be in my big cozy bed love it's going to be with me in it too." He was stubborn but he liked his bed very much. "Dad doesn't like to share" he buried his face into Mandy's arms, "No it's not like I don't like to share you little nipper it's because you like to jump around the bed while I'm sleeping." Tobias giggled and rolled about in her arms before finally sitting still. "Too much excitement I think" Roger said softly looking at his son and rolling his eyes.

"A big, massive bully," Mandy responded with a grin at Toby and another giggle. What could she say? Mandy tended to side with Toby, the little boy had to have someone on his side. Mandy blushed a little as Roger spoke, thoughts of sleeping with Roger infiltrating her mind. Now there was an incredibly enticing thought. "Well, maybe sharing with you wouldn't be entirely too bad. So long as you don't start hogging the blanket," Mandy said once she'd managed to find her tongue, which she promptly stuck out at Roger.

Smiling down at Tobias, Mandy ran her fingers through the little boys' hair. She brushed her lips against the top of his head. "I'd share with you, lovey. Daddy just doesn't know how brilliant you are," she said with a smile and a laugh as Tobias wriggled. "Just a massive ball of energy."

Tobias fumbled about on Mandy's lap and grinned before hopping down and wandering over to Roger with wide open arms. He chuckled tumbling his son in his arms and tossed him over his arm "Alright kiddo off to bed again you have to get up early to see your grandmother." He chuckled as his son began to squirm. "None of that munchin" he brought him off to the room where Tobias curled up in the center of his bed and Roger tucked him in. "You're a lucky boy to be loved so much" he smiled at his son and Tobias mumbled his good nights before Roger closed the door and returned to Mandy's side.

"If he didn't get to bed now he never would at all." He looked at a near by clock and smiled "So did you want to stay here?" He put his hand on her shoulder "Because it's up to you but I know we would both like it if you stayed."

"Good night, lovey. Sleep tight," Mandy said with a smile as she waived goodnight to Toby. She'd finished her dinner ages ago, and now that Roger was putting Tobias to bed, she wiped her mouth with a napkin and stood up. As Roger could be a few minutes, she found her wand and started to clean up the dishes with a few well-placed hexes.

When she heard Roger return, Mandy turned around to look at him. She shivered ever so slightly as Roger's hand landed on her shoulder. She bit her lower lip and looke dup at him. Merlin he was fit. Bloody Roger being right. "A appreciate it, Roger. Really. I - yes. But you have to help me find a place soon, I really can't stay here forever."

Tobias loved when Mandy was around, she made him happy always being near and knowing there was love there. He couldn't remember his mum but what he could remember is hers, and his grandmothers love. Roger could see his affection for Mandy, it was something that cemented his further feelings for her.

"Why? Mandy you know you can stay with us as long as you want." His hand never left her shoulder he wanted more then anything to pull her into his arms and give her a warm hug. Something he has wanted to do for a while now.

"I know it's sweet of me Mands, but that goes without saying. I am a brilliant gentleman," that was the old Roger rearing his ugly head. The cocky Quidditch star that lost his chance to keep playing because he had to play daddy. It wasn't a big loss he had a hell of a great kid it just hurt from time to time. "Besides who else would I want to share my flat with? You are the only one I know."

As she looked up at him, Mandy found herself chewing on her lower lip. She wanted so much to kiss him,."What, are you suggesting I move in now? Smiling at her he gave her a wink, "Not that kind of girl? Did I say you had to do anything with me Miss Brocklehurst, I think you are assuming I have impure intentions." He let go of her shoulder and leaned against the wall looking over her with a small smirk, "Tell me love do I seem like the time to ask a beautiful girl to stay in my flat only to shag her senseless in the process I might just be interested in your welfare."

"You're hardly pure, lovey," Mandy said and laughed softly as she shrugged her shoulders. She shivered involuntarily as the image of Roger shagging her senseless flew thrgough her mind. Okay, that was the sexiest image she'd ever had and it was all Roger's fault. "I am going to ignore that because my virgin ears just cannot take it," she said with a smirk as she bounded over to the sofa and plopped down. She rested her head against the back and looked up at Roger. "Mmmm oh so comfy. You should try it," Mandy murmurred as sexily as she possibly clould, stretching her legs out on the sofa as she did so.

"Since when have I wanted to be anything but pure. I have nothing but the most innocent intentions with you." He grinned a bit and his brows bounced. "You can't tell me you don't love this," when she hopped over to his couch all playfully Roger lit up. This was a total difference from the girl from the other day. "Try it I shall." Roger sauntered over to Mandy with caution but excitement. Lifting her legs he slid under her and smiled, "So why do you think I'm so impure?"

"Love this?" Manfy asked, a smirk playing on her lips. "Okay... maybe just a little." As Roger sauntered over, Mandy couldn't help but laugh. As much as that cocky walk reminded her of the Roger she knew so well, it was also the funniest thing she'd seen. As he joined her on the sofa, Mandy tried her best to move out of the way, and then scooted back in place so sat with her bottom on the sofa, legs drapped across Roger's lap, and arms around his neck.

"Why are you impure?" she echoed, scrunching up her face as if she were thinking hard. "You mean beside the fact that you were Roger Davies shagger of brainless bimbos?" she teased, laughing as she moved one had away to protect her stomach and braced for an attack of some sort.

"Did you?" Mandy's breath caught in her throat as Roger's fingers ran up her arm. Bloody hell. Why couldn't she g back to having absolutely no idea that he fancied her and vice versa? She swallowed hard and nodded. "It was awful."

Rolling her eyes, Mandy poked Roger in the side. "That's really pathetic, Davies. Not everything's about brains, Mister." she said as she made a face and crossed her arms. "Some people have small ones, and perfectly -" she couldn't help it any longer, laughing, Mandy leaned back and up against the arm of the sofa. "You know it explains so much."

Roger knew she would get annoyed with that last one, "You would be surprised Mands, a little bit of brains go a long way." He gave her is own seductive little wink just happy to have her around him again. "What explains so much?"

"Because it never seems like you do." Mandy left her fingers intertwined with Roger's, giving him a gentle squeeze. "I know. I missed him too. Sometimes," she said, biting on her lower lip as her eyes darted back over to his bedroom. "well that little munchkin gets to me."

"A little bit?" she asked, raising a brow, and smirking slightly. "I don't seem to remember you going for the small brained sort." she shrugged at his question. "the girls. You know the sort, which nearly topple over, because they're so top heavy." Mandy added with a giggle. All right so maybe she was exaggerating just a tiny bit, but Mandy liked to think she was better than most of them.

If she wanted to think of him as not wanting her around he couldn't get all up in arms about it. He knew the truth. "He has that affect on people." Tobias could melt a stone if he wanted to, Roger was sure of it.

"You obviously didn't pay attention to all the birds I looked after." He waved it off, "Besides it was the only way to keep my mind off of who I wanted to be with because someone happened to be dating my best mate." He pulled at the collar of his shirt a bit and let out a yawn.

Mandy looked a little taken aback by Roger's forcefulness on the issue. She supposed it just seemed like he didn't care at time. At least not when they were mad at each other. Which, happened quite often. She blinked and nodded in response, deciding to keep her mouth shut for once, lest they end up arguing. Again.

"Well someone dated your best mate ages ago, if I recall. So really, that's hardly an excuse." Sitting back up, Mandy placed her arms around his neck again and smiled at Roger. She kind of liked it when he said he cared about her. Maybe the love thing was a little intense, but surely some day... "Awww are we sleepy? Toby tiring you out?" Mandy asked, pouting just a little. "Don't let me keep you up if you're tired."

When he meant something, Roger wasn't one to back down. Especially on the topic of Mandy and how he felt for her. Be it missing her or furious with her, Roger tended to stay focused. This was often why he was in the dog house for his stubborn pigheaded behavior but time and time again Mandy forgave him.

"So?, That doesn't mean for a while there I had no one better to see. I have to date all of these lesser beauties as a Mandy replacement. Now that was dreadful," leave it to Roger to have a flair for the dramatic. He pulled his head to the back of his forehead and pretended to be devastated.

It wasn't like Roger was the only stubborn one. Mandy had her share of over the top behaviour, and she'd gotten into plenty of arguments with Roger over the littlest things. They really were far too much alike for it to lead to anything goof.

"Yes, yes, woe is you," Mandy rolled her eyes and laughed, "You are pathetic Davies. Truly pathetic," she added shaking her head. She poked Roger in the side for the dramatics. "Try going without attention of the opposite sex for years, mate. Years. Bet you wouldn't last a minute."

They could continue to bash their heads against the wall repeatedly. But if one of them gave the other the opportunity to come back into their lives it seemed they took it. So in every way Roger got in trouble he secretly looked for a way to get back in her good graces. He couldn't stay away for long.

"Yes, woe is me!" He moaned in sorrow, "I am not pathetic. I am just telling the truth." He pulled her onto his lap and pouted, "Years? Ha, sorry love that wouldn't happen. Oh and if you are referencing yourself it doesn't work because I have fancied you since you walked through the doors of Hogwarts." He only made minor pit-stops on the way with other lasses to fill the void or time.

Mandy made a face at the thought of Roger fancying her when she was eleven. "Oh come on Roger, you can't tell me that." As Roger pulled her onto his lap, Mandy smiled and wriggled a little trying to settle into the right position. "Why not?" Mandy said giving Roger an innocent look and a raised brow. "I've managed never to have sex, that's more than twenty years, surely you could manage a couple?"

"Yes I can, and if I was able to tell anyone I would have had Ryan back it up but the bugger laid claim to you before I could open my mouth." He sighed, "It bothered the hell out of me too. I couldn't shake the idea that you were with the wrong guy all that time." He decided to leave Boot out of it entirely because if he mentioned it again he was going to probably get swacked.

Another yawn escaped his lips, "That's because you weren't with me and we aren't married yet." The way Roger said it would make it sound as if it is already all said and done.

Mandy shrugged. "Well, it's a good thing that's all over now, isn't it." She shook her head and crossed her arms as she shifted on Roger's lap. "Though I will admit, I never took you as the sort to Divine the future."

Mandy smirked at Roger and poked him in the stomach. She decided to play along, after all, he didn't think her serious, and she well, she enjoyed bothering Roger almost as much as the thought of kissing him senseless. "Yes. Well. I can't imagine what you'll do for those two years until we are, because I'm an expert at this whole waiting thing, but you? Hmmm I dunno." Biting her lower lip, she sighed. "I think you need to go to bed, Rog. You look as tucked out as Toby."

"You're damn bloody right it is." He said almost without missing a beat. It killed him to see her date Ryan and the worst part was he was his best mate. The one guy he could rely on and it was gone. Oh well.

"Two years?" He felt his stomach drop, two years was a long time in deed. "Well then I guess you are going to have to marry me sooner then that." He replied frankly before another yawn escaped his lips. Lifting her up he spoke "You're right I am exhausted so why don't you come with me it's time for bed." Roger carried her towards his room with no impure thoughts in his head he really just wanted to sleep. Walking into his room and to the foot of his bed flopping her lightly down on soft mattress. Stripping down to his shorts he hopped onto the other side and groaned about being sleepy and poked her playfully.

"Not bloody likely," Mandy retorted with a snort and a roll over her eyes. "I want a long engage-" the syllable was dragged out as Roger suddenly picked her up and she found herself mid-air. "-ment." Clinging to Roger for support, Mandy frowned. She really hadn't planned on sleeping in Roger's bed. At least not this way. As she was dropped on the bed, Mandy closed her eyes for a moment. They were best friends right? And she'd agreed to spend the night. She sighed softly as she stretched out on the mattress. It was so much nicer than the one at the Leaky. Besides she was just going to sleep. Nothing more. When Roger poked her, mandy's eyes flew open and she made a face at her friend before crawling over to him, and poking him in the side.

"If I'm going to let you sleep under the covers with me, you'd better be nice." She said before backing up a bit. She then got up on her knees on the bed and reached to the bottom of her shirt and then stopped. "Do you have a shirt I can borrow?"

Roger frowned, "Long engagement? Well I suppose I better get to asking you out then eh?" he said standing up and moving towards the dressor for a shirt for her. Pulling out a long t-shirt with a Qudditch Logo stitched on it he handed it over to her. "I mean come on Mands how am I supposed to ask you to marry me if I haven't asked you to date me yet?"

He moved back to the bed and splayed himself out a bit stretching and closed his eyes feeling his body sink into the soft mattress. "I am always nice."

"Asking me out might help a little," Mandy shrugged as she reached behind her and started to unclasp her bra whilst Roger fetched her a shirt. Once she had that in hand, Mandy turned around, and slid off the bed so she could get undressed. "You're the one who started it," Mandy added as she started taking her shirt off. She had her back to Roger so he couldn't see anything as she undressed. First the shirt, then the bra hit the floor before she turned ever so slightly to pick up the shirt Roger had given her.

"Acting like we're going to be married tomorrow or something." she scoffed and shook her head as she pulled on the shirt. Smoothing it out over her trousers, Mandy pulled her wand out of her pocket and unbuttoned them before wriggling out of them. Once she was only in her knickers and the shirt she turned around and smiled at Roger. "And you are not always nice. Or we wouldn't have arguments," she retorted with a smirk before picking up her wand again, and casting a few spells to nearly organize her clothing. Once that was settled, she walked back over to the top of the bed, and placed her wand on the bedside table.

Pulling her back into the bed and back up to where he was Roger tugged her next to him. "So why don't you go out with me?" That was a smooth line wasn't it? It was sort of hard asking your best mate to go out with you when you have been only on the buddy buddy angle for so long.

Roger curled up with her feeling extra sleepy. It must have been the fact that he had been upstairs and downstairs all evening. Good thing his shop was being watched by one of his many shop workers. "Well if I could, I would."

"Ask me again in the morning," Mandy said with a smile as she leaned in and brushed her lips against Roger's forehead. She wanted to say yes, but the issue was far more complicated than that, and it wasn't something she was going to jump into without some sort of a discussion. Besides as far as Roger knew Mandy wasn't serious, and didn't fancy him in that manner. Sliding beneath the covers, Mandy snuggled up close and moved so she could rest her head on the pillow. "You will." she said, as she found herself yawning now and closed her eyes. Just for a moment. Yet before she knew it, Mandy was falling asleep.
