Who: Megan Jones and Oliver Wood
When: Afternoon
Where: Outside a coffee place
What: Megan sees the famous Oliver and has to talk to him.
Rating: PG?
Status: Incomplete

Megan was standing in line for her tea bouncing on her heels, she really wanted her tea. She racked her fingers through her hair while looking over at the others around. She couldn't believe this was taking so long. Megan sighed as she shuffled forward as the line moved. Thank Merlin. Megan peeked her head to see the length of the line, she was so close. "Victory is so close," she said to nobody but herself. Of course the lady in front of her turned and looked at her oddly. "What," she raised her eyebrows at him. "Look you can go," she pointed ahead of her. Megan was excited to get her darned tea. She really didn't need more caffeine but oh well. Finally it was her turn. She placed her order for tea, an within a minute she had it. "Fantastic!" She paid her money and started moving the tea bag about in the water before stopping at the stall to toss add milk and sugar.

With a lid on her tea and her tea in hand she exited the coffee shop and started to walk down the sidewalk, but she stopped when she saw a face she knew. Oliver Wood, yes it was Oliver Wood. Megan walked towards him and smirked. "Oliver Wood, hello." She grinned from ear to ear. "I am such a fan, though still a fan of my aunts team but still I am a fan of you." Megan babbled at him with a grin. "Megan Jones," she said sticking out a hand to great his. Megan was not afraid to talk to him, or babble it some always happened. Megan just loved meeting new people and getting a chance to talk to the gorgeous Oliver Wood sounded like a good idea to her.

Having just finished eating with his mates, Oliver had been collecting the check money and cashed out. The group had met up after another hard practice, which meant the pint glasses and tipped over pitchers left behind were a sign of a job either well done or botched horribly. Oliver was feeling a little loose and limber and since his accident a week prior it was nice for Oliver to get some relaxation in. Besides it was thanks to a healer from another team Oliver was able to play in the game that previous weekend where they swept the Appleby Arrows.

When he was approached by a woman in the crowd most of his mates laughed as the left the building. Oliver who was still getting used to the fame and glory bit even if he was always in the spot light went as red as his old house colors. "Um," he gave her a crooked smile, "Well nice to meet you um, Megan" he said gulping down a hard lump that was forming in his throat. It felt like there were a million eyes on them and he wasn't prepared to be approached while being out, which was foolish because it happened nearly every day.

Oliver was at a loss for what to say to the bubbly girl before him, "Did you enjoy the game this past weekend?" He was able to keep the awkwardness out of his voice as he shook her hand and backed up a bit. His mates were gone and there he was in the middle of a cafe with no excuse not to talk to this woman, besides she was a fan why did it make him feel so strange. Oliver shrugged off the feelings and turned his attention to the girl again.

Megan always managed to talk to people she didn't know with ease. Even if she could talk and talk she could always tell when the other was slightly uncomfortable. Megan shifted her weight on her feet and took a sip of her tea. She saw that crooked smile and it nearly made her knees weak so she was happy she had her cup of tea.

"Oh I did," Megan said with a grin. "I think I spend more time in the pitch watchings games than I do anywhere else other than work," Megan laughed. Megan hoped she had not embarrassed Oliver too much since, and she felt bad that his friends had left on him. "I am looking forward to your game again the Holyhead Harpies whenever it comes up, though I will be torn who to cheer for. My aunt Gwenog's team." Megan felt like she was babbling once more so took a sip of her tea.

"I have been a fan since school. Was same year as Harry, but in Hufflepuff. You were a brilliant captain and have only gotten better as keeper from what I can see." Okay now Megan was actually blushing. "I think I shall stop babbling."

Oliver could talk a person's ear off in the world of Quidditch, and if someone wanted to discuss the latest brooms or regulations he was ready to discuss it. But randomly stopping people on the street or in a cafe wasn't his style. He preferred to know the people he was in a conversation with ahead of time.

He thought about his mates vanishing off leaving him stranded with a stranger who was telling him all about herself. It would have been rude to run off just so he can go drink with his mates, instead he stayed listening to her ramble a bit about her aunt. "Ah, I know her" he said nodding with the knowledge of another player. Puddlemere was pretty tight with one another and often they partied with other teams but he tended to be careful who he got cozy with.

"Ah," he thought she meant a fan of quidditch but he realized she meant him and his face grew hot like it was on fire. Oliver had to gulp down another hard lump in his throat, "It's not me it's the whole team that is brilliant not just one player." There he was pushing all the credit on everyone else.

Megan nodded her head as he said he knew her aunt, she wasn't that surprised. Megan felt like a complete dork for babbling like this, as she had only meant to say hello and her mouth was left running away without her thoughts pushing her to do so. She sipped at her tea again as she looked at him. "I know it is the whole team." Megan said sort of shyly. "I adore quidditch, I wish I wasn't hopeless at playing it, well more like I wasn't hopeless on a broom." Megan sighed softly she really felt like a dork.

"I am impressed with Puddlemere this year. You guys are doing great." Megan brushed her hair from her face and rubbed the back of her neck. "Well I am sorry for bugging you and all. Your friends are gone too, sorry about that." Megan had never intended to be one of those annoying girls who ran up to famous people, and she was doing that right now. She normally wasn't star struck as she interviewed people all the time.

Who didn't know or at least hear of at some point Megan's aunt? She was rather famous for flight and fierceness in the sky. It was always nice to come against a team with skills. Not like when his team went against the Cannons. Oliver wasn't one to pretend he was the best player but he knew many of his teammates almost felt bad about playing the Cannons because they always played so pitifully.

"It's good that we play as a team and not as if we are the only stars there. I don't know how I would be as an attention grabber," he rubbed his neck nervously and looked over at her again. She was right his friends were long gone, "They have probably found a place to spend the night by now." If he wanted to he would be able to find them but it made more sense not to. "It is okay, I mean it happens a lot." Usually not to that extent but who was counting?

Megan looked at him with a smile, shifting her weight on her feet. She wondered if he would be up for going for a walk. Megan was not about to ask though, not right now anyway as she already appeared like some freak of a person coming up to talk to him like this. "It is definitely good you play as a team, otherwise you would not be nearly as great of a team as you are. I think you guys have a solid foundation from what I see. No one person trying to be the show boat. There are some teams that have that star player who flaunts his stardom even on the field." Megan knew those sort well as she had conducted a few interview with them on request of the paper. She hated that sort of interview as they were so full of themselves.

When said that they had probably already found a place she shrugged her shoulders. "Well if you wanted to go walk with me you are more than welcome. Though don't have to walk with me though." Megan was not about to push him as she felt she was already being a creep. "Puddlemere seeker made a great catch the last game, it was very exciting. I was screaming in the stands." Megan could talk about quidditch quite a bit and easily, you would think she played the game but she definitely did not.

"Well when you play as one you win as one we always say. We work as a part of a body it's not like you can run with only one leg operating the whole thing," he went on an on about it like he was still the captain for Gryffindor. Oliver tended to have a stored up motivational speech in the back of his mind at all times. It brought a small tear to his eye when he thought about how badly the Weasley twins would rag on him for his speeches and how back then it used to piss him off but now he would give almost anything to still have a chance to be ragged on by them both again.

The war had changed them all, Oliver was very different from his days in school. So much more concerned about the world outside of Quidditch and sport in general. He was even trying to be more well rounded as a family man being sure to visit his still living sister and his mum and dad as often as possible.

He cocked a brow, "Go for a what?" She seemed to say it again before he realized what she was asking. "Oh um sure we can do that if you want I guess." He didn't know what else to say it was kind of on the spot. Oliver walked towards the door trying to figure out what just happened, "Yeah, he is brilliant. We are lucky to have him." He muttered something about skills he hasn't seen in a while.

Megan nodded her head agreeing with what he was saying but couldn't really help to see that it was more like a motivational thing one would say to the team. She didn't mind though as he did have a point. "Well said," Megan said before sipping at her tea some more. She was hoping to stop sounding like some silly fan girl eventually and actually talk about something normal with Oliver. She wouldn't be surprised if he started to run the other way.

When he had agreed to go on a walk with her she could not help but have a smile spread over her lips. She stepped out the door and wondered which way to go. "He has great skill, you are lucky to have him." She looked at her cup before looking back to Oliver. "I am sure quidditch keeps you busy, what do you do when you aren't on the pitch?" Great now she sounded like her interview self. "Oh wow, way to sound like an interviewer." She laughed, "How about we go with, did you here about the concert in town this weekend? Flick and Swish? I am guess students of Flitwick."

It was just how Oliver was, always trying to boost moral in the group get the team ready for a rough game. When school was still in session for him that was his main goal, to get his team pumped or to correct their mistakes. Morning, noon, and night he thought of ways to improve the team and when he had a chance he had a social life which he usually talked about Quidditch.

Merlin he was a one trick pony. It was a little scary sometimes but he did have other interests. He liked art, and reading a book or two when the time came and he had it.

It wasn't like he had much of a choice he hated being rude. "Ah, we have been lucky before. I have seen seekers of that caliber before too." Mostly speaking of Harry, Oliver had been hard pressed to find someone so skilled. "Um no I didn't hear about any concert I must have been at practice. Was it any good?"
