Those interested in pursuing player-driven plots may do so in the Mythos sandbox at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) audeamus. Audeamus is a multigame community that plays host to several 'sandboxes' or 'verses.
All you need to do is join audeamus and liberum with your character username, and I'll do the rest.
If you care, there's a couple new gods as well, Internet and Telecommunications. Aude being Aude, you can ignore these and continue in whatever personal SLs you like, or make new gods or... whatever you damn well please, essentially.

Hey guys. I'm sorry I've been unavailable of late, but real life has sort of taken over right now. As it is, I am unable to commit to the level of contribution and maintenance required by the plot of Mythos and as such have to close the game.
For those of you who would like to continue playing, a player-driven version will be set up at audeamus where you can continue to play out the characters. Those of you interested, please leave a comment.
You've all been wonderful but unfortunately, circumstances make it impossible for me to continue.

Hi, I'm Gni (Islay) and I'm playing Hera (or Hannah, as she was born - she prefers 'Ma'am' -_^).
Don't break her heart and I think you'll all get on fine. Oh, and if you happen to be one of the many illigitimate heirs of her original husband, Zeus, you might wanna give her a wide birth for a couple of days. She just did in one of a string of ex-husbands (this is the first in this lifetime) when he made the grave mistake of picking up a prostitute. The prostutute is currently in bits all over Manhattan and the husband is currently in a locked psychiatric ward gibbering about being a beast from hell and eating women alive while his doctors try to medicate him suffeciently that he will be able to stand trial for first degree homocide. So yeah... Hera's in a bit of a murderous mood right now, and living reminders of what Zeus put her through back in the day probably wont help. She'll come down in a bit, once she's done throwing lightening bolts against the walls of her penthouse. Then she'll be her usual charming self once more.
While she's doing that, here's a few basic details:
1.She's young.
2. She's rich.
3. She's British.
4. And when she's nice, she's very, very nice.
5. But when she's nasty - she's apocolyptic.

Hey! Beth here, with the last of my characters. This is Kit/Lethe. Her profile is here. To sum up: college student, lives with her parents (to her chagrin), and absolutely struggling through an anthropology degree at NYU. She's not stupid, but her memory is atrocious. It's the result of being Lethe - she carries a PDA and writes absolutely everything down, because there's no telling what she'll remember in two hours. 'Chronically forgetful' is pretty apt. She's very 'live in the moment' because, uh, it's sometimes all she can remember and there's no way she's getting left out. Her loyalty also grows with longevity of acquaintance - if she's known you for a while, it doesn't matter how you treat her. You're familiar. She doesn't have to worry about whether or not she'll remember you.
Anyway! I think that's it. I'm hoping to post for her later this week.

Hey all, this is Ash (Di/Morph) again. Had a minute on the comp, so I'm introing my third char -- Cerberus. Info's in his profile and all, but you know the basics. Lead hellhound, guardian of Hades, not very nice in general. He's 17 in this version too, and with his powers all back, he's...well, not someone you really want to mess with. If you want something from him, it's best to go through Hades or Persephone, cause chances are strong he'll bite you as soon as look at you otherwise. Hooray!

I'm a little late doing this but hi everyone! I'm Kat. I play Ariadne (![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) tangledthreads) and Eros (loveandarrows) but no doubt my character count will go up in time because it usually does. I can be found on AIM at Paigehsk if you ever want to chat, plot or scene :D
Ariadne, also known as Ava Williams, is the daughter of a Senator and his wealthy socialite wife. She's currently attending NYU (after dropping out of Yale) and working part-time as a waitress because she's determined to make it on her own. She's very sweet but not a little gullible and tends to get royally screwed over by men because apparently she can't escape her past. She's also a heck of a lot smarter than most people (including herself) give her credit for and could probably be a rocket scientist or something if she really put her mind to it. Instead she spends most of her time falling in love with completely unsuitable men and trying to prevent Dionysus from jumping off roofs and fun things like that.
Eros, also known as Evan Reynolds, grew up with a pair of sex therapists for parents and found out in his teens that his father wasn't actually his father. Which tends to be a recurring trend for him, thanks Aphrodite! Instead of going the college route like his parents expected, he moved into an apartment in Brooklyn and began working for trustcupid.com (an online dating service) and a phone sex company. He's into chastity in a big way and doesn't drink, smoke or take drugs but he won't stop anyone else from doing so. Eros believes one hundred percent in true love and is convinced his soulmate is out there somewhere, though he usually dies before finding them. On the whole he's very shy and naive, he'll stammer and blush if he thinks anyone's flirting with him and completely shuns the spotlight.

Hi guys! Julie (chthonian, for the CDJ-interested) here with two characters, and chugging away at her third. My own life is fairly dull compared to Greek deities, so I'll just start on the good stuff:
First up is Sarah Shelley (persephonic), AKA Persephone:
29-year-old librarian and Nicholas Roth's former secretary -- her personality is no longer recognisable as the bright and happy girl ~frolicking in the fields~ of yore, since she's moved on into her metaphorical role as queen of the dead, head honcho of the underworld, etc. Plainly put: she is cold, academic, very sharp, and suffers from a chronic case of wanderlust. If anyone needs a roommate, I could definitely see her apartment melding with someone else's. And she needs girlfriends in general! People who can put up with an occasionally-very-cranky woman with a tendency for correcting spelling mistakes in the NY Times in the morning, and getting drunk and secretly reading old romantic classics at night. She's been on the journals for years, and I'd also like to talk underworld dynamics if anyone else wants to!
Next, Charlie Graham (discordance), AKA Chaos:
Yes, this is his first incarnation, he's the embodiment of pretty much anarchy itself, and odds are he's your god's great-great-great-something-grandfather. He has crazily debilitating ADD, but has managed to rework his life into a passable semblance of order. Too much of it, in fact -- he keeps everything neatly labelled and organised, and will probably even try to give you some unwanted, faux-fatherly advice. Underneath those glasses and memos, however, he's actually really really into strife and discord and chaos, and will try to subtly turn people against each other if he can, just to see entropic sparks fly. Nyx may or may not be the only thing capable of enforcing a so-called 'moral compass' on him. (Charlie: "What. What?")
Aaaaand that's what I go so far.
Lastly, I like to imagine that this is Hades' shoulder Sarah's hanging from in this icon. Just because.

ALL RIGHT, I'll keep this short. I'm Rian, I know most of you, and I spend too much time on the computer. Why is that relevant? You are required to plot with me, that's why.
I've got two here so far. First of all is Petra Ishraqi, the goddess Nyx. Petra is extremely practical and level-headed, and often comes off as cold due to her preoccupation with keeping a cool head. SHE DOESN'T MEAN IT, it just happens. Petra's from Jordan, but has lived in Austria, Amman, Italy, and New York, where she's currently working with the Met because, TA DA, she's an opera singer. A damn good one, too, but still too young (and, ok, too skinny) to be much of a name yet. Generally speaking, she views most of the other gods as her children, since (except for Chaos and Erebos), they pretty much are. Her tapped ability was manipulating darkness, which she still can do, but on top of that, she can now extract the soul of a god from its human host and shove it back into the reincarnation cycle. YEAH. The oracles kept a pretty close watch on her due to that, but she's such a ~nice person~ she ended up befriending them anyway. YAAAY.
THEN there's Kelly Friedan, born Kelly Friedan-Norris (and yes, that would be Betty Friedan, but not Chuck Norris unfortunately), who is Artemis. Kelly doesn't like boys who don't treat her like an equal. Kelly doesn't like stupid girls. Kelly has rage problems. She also has really, really, really good aim. She's currently at NYU for some bullshit degree, but spends most of her time at either a) the gym where she works, or b) a shitty little bodega on the Lower East. She has two roommates you will inevitably hear her bitch about, and if you're male, is probably out to verbally castrate you. It's what she does. Her tapped ability was (obviously) perfect aim, as well as being the world's greatest minor tracker; her untapped ability is being God's gift to hunting. And that's literally hunting anything, both physically tracking something down to kill it and bring it back to the cave, and tracking damn near anything she sets her mind to. She could probably find Osama if she wanted to. :|

I'm sure most of you have encountered her already since she's been all of the journals, but hi! This is Eris. And I would be Nat (... another Nat, fyi). I'm on AIM as dazzlingsongbird if you ever want to chat!
This will come as no surprise to any of you, but trouble follows her around like a lovesick puppy. She's a little troublemaker, and she's not shy about it either. Trouble is fun, ladies and gentlemen, and she does like to have fun. She also likes to be the centre of the attention, so you can expect to see her running around all over the place. She's trying to make it as an actress, but her paychecks come from her job as a bartender. She doesn't tend to hold a job down for very long, so she just jumps from bar to bar to pay the rent. She loves a good party, and she just VERY GRUMPY if you don't invite her along. Um... I think the only other thing is is that she's eternally amused by the fact that there's a religion named after her, and she likes to show off about it a little bit. Try not to get her started about it.
I think that's it! I have Hecate in the works, she'll be along in the next few days if all goes well.

It might be nice to say a hello now that I've jumped feet-first into this game, SO. I'm Zoe, player of Pan (satyrical if you haven't gotten that by now somehow), and I can be found on AIM at theselongdays7. I know a handful of you, don't know a handful of others, so nice to meet you for those I don't know and hay gaiz to the ones who I do!
Colby Martin (usually goes by Pan, honestly, he's not too subtle) in a nutshell is a slacker from a hick family upstate, who spends most of his time following Dionysus -- in life as in myth! -- and generally making a nuisance of himself. He's crude, crass, and pretty much always cruising for a good time. On the other hand, he's...all of the above, again. Seriously though, on the other hand, he and Ariadne are two of the only people who consider themselves responsible for Di. Shocking for someone who generally sheds responsibility like a duck sheds water (and also sort of debatable given how he actually takes care of Di), but generally if something comes up, he's there to deal with it. There are a bunch of specifics to be found here in his profile.
Uhhh, I could try to explain more but you'll probably get more out of just getting to know him, so throw me your plot ideas and cheers and whatnot, and we'll get cracking!

HELLO!
To alleviate confusion I shall identify myself as Nat #1, but if you like you may call me Dennis, since Dennis is a nice, sensible name, and my AIM name is called dennis. I've got a CDJ at b1g1.livejournal.com, and I'm generally prolific enough to annoy the hell out of everyone at some point or another. I apologize for the state and quality of the profiles, I haven't prettied them yet. But I do know the characters, I promise.
I have three characters for you: Odysseus, Charon, and Apollo. I am a librarian, so we will proceed alphabetically.
Apollo's name is Paul Lakemore. (idolizeme) You may know him as PAUL LAKEMORE, POPSTAR, or maybe just PAUL, depending on how many adolescent teeny-boppers you know. Paul is in his early twenties, rather silly, and a recent graduate of the Disney popstar scene. He has a voice like a meadowlark but when you get to be his age the music lovers want something hip and cool, and Paul does ballads and similar. He doesn't actually know the old act won't work anymore, so he's bordering on some plot that is supposed to go for the pathos. Think squeaky clean sex symbol or Justin Timberlake before Sexy Back.
Charon is probably the game's emobucket. (barelyafloat) His name is Chad Montgomery, and he's a very rich independent eighteen-year-old that sounds like he's forty. Through circumstances he's extremely materialistic (though not greedy), scary smart, and disturbingly hard to read. Your basic kid that had to grow up too fast and then a fluke made him rich, so he doesn't know how to go back to being a kid again. He even hears dead people! It's all very black eyeliner. (Only he doesn't... actually wear black eyeliner. Give me a little bit of credit.)
And Odysseus, well... (wayfaring) Oliver Sussex is a middle-aged anthropology professor of awesome at NYU, and he does the Indiana Jones thing a lot with taking off to random continents, so his marriage with Penelope didn't go so hot outside of the bedroom, if you know what I mean. Oliver's careless but charismatic, and hard to dislike unless you expect him to do something and then get horribly let down when he's distracted by a new shiny buried in the Amazon.
PLOTWISE, Paul has a rep and a make up artist, but he needs a buddy to party with (he doesn't get that drugs are addictive yet, so that should be interesting). Chad doesn't have any plot at all yet, but I'd like some. Aaaand Oliver's ability connects him with the moods of the gods, so if your god (not heroe or titan) bunny is having a serious mood swing, he's abruptly getting overtones, and they're giving him headaches.
...I think I will identify myself as Dennis from now on. That amuses me.

Anyways, I have one character here. Meet Milly Evans (Urania). She's the Muse of Astronomy who, amusingly enough, still works rather closely with the stars; she's a Press Rep for a couple different lower level stars. She's a pretty kind person with a higher inclination to be on her own when not at work and who is pretty attached to her "sisters". I don't feel like spewing all sorts of info when she has a profile so if you want to know more, her info's here for your viewing pleasure :D

Totally forgot to intro myself, though I pretty much know all of you. :) I am Bonnie and I am bringing in Psyche. Her name is Annie, she's sweet, a bit nerdy and somewhat naive and can be rather dumb at times. Blonde moments. Yup.
Her tapped ability was seeing a person's inner beauty, while her untapped is the ability to bring it out and what not.

Hi, hullo, my players are quicker than I am xD
Lis here - I have my three so far and one on the way, but I feel obliged to tell you first just how excited I am by this game. It looks to be brilliant, with an awesome cast of characters and I hope everything works as phenomenally as it looks to do.
Anyway! Introductions! This journal is Penelope, from the Odyssey, aka Penelope Westwood. She is part of a firm that organizes male lives, aka, basically acting as social convenor/wife/secretary for various hapless males who engage their services - essentially, skills she learned from being married to Oliver Sussex, aka Odysseus. She is very much reserved, polite and as unlikely to swear as she is to dress in leather. Thirty-four, divorced and very much keeps an eye on the other gods. Any more information is all in her profile.
I also have warnotpeace who is Ares, god of war, aka Marshall Grant. He's sort of obscenely excited by trouble/fighting/war but in a to-your-face sort of way, not behind the back. He's a military history PhD student as despite not being very bright, he has an obsession with all things battle-shaped and well. His encyclopedic knowledge scares his professors. He's very amiable, until y'know. Excitement, or annoyed. Simple man, emotions swamp him.
Finally on my roster lordofdead Hades, who is Nicholas Roth. Nick is, in a word, a bastard; cold, cruel and careless. He runs his family's jewelry company, is very rich and not very nice. He likes causing problems, is exceptionally bitter over the whole 'Dis' instead of earth/sea thing, and likely to shit-stir Poseidon and Zeus, whenever we get them.

HOLA, I'm Ash! I think I know most of you. I'm bringing in two chars (with a third being apped), Dionysus and Morpheus. These are going to be short cause I'm tired.
Dionysus (this journal) is the God of wine, catharsis, theater, etc etc you know the drill. He's 24 and living in/around New York City (he hops from couch to couch, with shelters and Zeus's restaurant in between), and is seriously the go-to guy if you want to know where the good parties are on any given night. He's also an alcoholic, a drug addict, and insane! Good times. He's bffs with Pan and Ariadne is his god-wife, but they're just friends. He doesn't talk about his human past pre-remembering the God stuff, and he goes by Di. Pretty much Pan (and anyone Pan's told) is the only one who knows all that stuff. He's wild and great to have around but can be extremely emotionally exhausting, and if you're close with him then you gotta deal with the downsides of him sometimes. Umm he sleeps in the booths at Zeus's restaurant sometimes and gets free food there? Idk, open to literally any kind of plot with him.
Morpheus (morpheos) is sort of the polar opposite. He's the God of Dreams, and controls both the dream realm as a whole and specifically the human aspects of dreams. If you have a dream, about anything, he's the one who shaped it for you. If you aren't dreaming, he's holding dreams back from you for whatever reason. He reeeeeally disliked having his realm taken from him by the Oracles, and has absolutely zero intentions of ever giving it back, period. He's been off wandering around as an ascetic for the last few years and hasn't been using the journals at all; he will once he realizes his powers are back though, so that'll be the first time people have heard from him in awhile? He's kind of known for not picking sides when the Gods get into their tiffs, and remaining amoral and neutral with all of that stuff. He's a good listener though? And doesn't bullshit. His human form has a lot of money via his parents, and he's gonna be teaching a yoga class in New York :D? OH, and he's one of the only Gods who has zero children. Bwah ha ha.
I think that's it. EXCEPT THAT ALSO! Di and Pan sort of caused a huge riot in NYC when their powers came out. In case you want your chars to have been there or heard about it/seen it :D. This game is gonna rock!
