Who: Emberlei, ? When: Day 63, afternoon Where: some random courtyard, The Red Keep Status: Open! Rating: PG-13. Probably R. ... maybe higher later...
Emberlei was terribly vexed. She knew with all the tragedy befalling the land it should fit the somber tone of the songs that were sure to be written about her but, well, it wasn’t all that much fun. And her brother was no help at all, she thought bitterly. She didn’t usually mind Domenic, and most of the time she was mostly sure she liked him even, but she was so bored even his odd little jokes didn’t help. Marrying her off to Astapor. Whoever Astapor was.
Oh, it was a pretty here in the courtyard! She loved the fountain. Someone had told her it was Dornish. She sat beside it now and sighed mournfully as she trailed her hand through the water. Maidens in songs did that sort of thing. It was perhaps his very fountain where Jaehaerys’ mother would have sat- Queen Aeria had been a Dornish princess. It was what made Jaehaerys seem so wonderfully exotic sometimes. The wildness in his laughter! The way he said words with the trace of an accent sometimes! Oh, how cruel the Stranger could be to take such a perfect prince away!
She was just settling into a properly mournful frame of mind when there were footsteps nearby. Ember turned at once, a look of perfect curiosnity on her pretty face. She knew it was pretty. People always said so.
