Dorne on the move
Who: Prince Myrwin
What: The journey from Sunspear to King's Landing begins
When: Day 32
Where: The deck of a ship in Sunspear's harbor
Status: Closed
Rating: PG-13 for salty language.
Moving by sea was the only practical way to reach King's Landing as fast as possible. The cost of the adventure was heavy - five ships, loaded to the gills with men and their gear, plus a sixth sizable cargo vessel for just mounts and cargo and a few gifts for his brother king. The weather this time of year would be rough and Myrwin, standing on deck amid a buzzing hive of activity, remembered what happened the _last_ time he'd taken a significant sea journey.
Hopefully this time the Stranger - or the Drowned God - wouldn't take exception to a little blasphemy and attempt to send him to a watery grave. Myrwin resolved right then and there not to mention his cock to anyone for the duration of the entire voyage.
Actually _using_ it was also out of the question. He'd have to actually behave himself.
Lighting a smoke, he ducked out of the way as a docking crane lowered another batch of supplies into the ship's hold. The ship he was standing on - the Unbroken Spear - was traditionally the Prince's vessel and the flagship of the Dornish fleet.
Given that he'd had to pull two entire piracy patrols to provide the ships and the crews for this voyage, he hoped Henry was prepared to step up their usual efforts to rid the Dornish Sea of harbor rats and alley cats and every kind of scum.
Trouble like that Dorne really didn't need. Damn Lysene smugglers.
Just another hour or two - or so the captain said - until they could hoist anchor, put on some sail, and be on their way.
Two weeks, give or take. Two weeks to make the voyage, assuming nothing ... untoward ... happened.
He wondered if it was too late to bribe make the appropriate offering for the success of the voyage. It never hurt to be on the Seven's good side, after all.
