Who: Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom What: Neville requests that Hermione meet him downstairs for "personal" reasons. When: Sometime after six. Where: "Downstairs."
Throughout the entire day, Hermione wondered what was so "personally" important that Neville couldn't write the words on a piece of parchment. She concocted various stories - ones that included near runaway attempts, escapades that were likely going to get him in trouble, and other frownable shenanigans that she highly disapproved of. Then there were also the less severe personal possibilities: a sickness of some sort, a case of loneliness or homesickness, or even something ridiculously mundane that he still only wanted to confide in her with. Whatever the reason, her curiosity was piqued and she simply had to know soon.
Descending the many stairs as the clock tower struck upon the hour, Hermione pushed all the countless possibilities aside. She would know momentarily what the big deal was. As she rounded a corner and traversed down yet another flight of stairs, she caught sight of Neville not too far ahead and gave a small sort of wave.
"I'm here now," she said and raised her eyebrows expectantly, as if she was hoping he would jump right into an explanation. "Now what is it you simply had to see me about?"
