Ginny had been taking directions all day: Where things ought to go; how fast to stir this sauce; how many chairs needed to be moved into which rooms; how much cheese to grate--the list went on and on.
The youngest Weasley had tried insisting that she didn't need a big to-do to go with her moving out of the Burrow. But of course, her cries of protest were futile and her father had warned her that just smiling and going along with Molly's idea was easiest for everyone. At least it was an excuse to get her brothers all into one spot for a change. Usually an impossible task, Molly had laid the guilt on particularly thick for this occasion and all of the boys had agreed to be there.
It was still a bit weird to think that she and Neville would be moving into their own flat in just a few days. Starting their life together. Mature, grown, adults. Well, grown anyway. Most of her stuff was packed into boxes, though there wasn't much to pack. Clothes, some books, a few other odds and ends. She expected she and Neville would have to go out and pick some things up to make the flat feel a little more like a home than a large echo-y space they occupied. But that would be the exciting part, wouldn't it?
"Oi. Stop daydreaming and help me with this table." Ron said, nudging his sister's shoulder with his elbow. His mouth was half-full of food that he'd undoubtedly stolen from the kitchen.
"I wasn't daydreaming." Ginny said with a roll of her eyes as she walked over to the other end of the table and helped him lift it.
"Yeah. Sure you weren't. What time is Nevvy-pie getting here anyhow?" Ron teased with a grin.
"Oh my god, how is it you've gotten more annoying? Can you at least try to act like a reasonable person?" They'd reached their destination and Ginny was half-tempted to try to make Ron drop his end of the table on his foot, but thought better of it when Molly came bustling into the room.
"Stop it both of you." She said, setting down a plate of cheese and crackers on the coffee table. "What time are the Longbottoms getting here, Love?"
"I'm not sure. Neville didn't know if his mum and dad had to work this morning but---" She was interrupted by a knock at the front door. "Nevermind. Right now, apparently." Ron moved like he was going to answer the door, but Ginny pushed past him a bit roughly.
"Ow!" Ron whined as she hopped around the corner.
"Sorry!" She called back, smiling over her shoulder, sounding fairly insincere in her apology. She paused only a second to catch her breath before tugging the door open.
