Who: All servants
Where: Servant's eating room
What: Lockdown begins
When: Wednesday morning after Barty's instructions
As the boys forced themselves out of bed and dress in the freezing air of the dungeons, Neville sensed that the dark mood that had prevailled over the castle yesterday hadn't dissapated. As pleased as most people were that Umbridge and Rosier were the main casualties of the explosion, all the servants knew that the people in charge were looking for someone to blame. And with Anthony gone, it was highly likely that anyone could become a scapegoat.
They met some of the girls as they made their way upstairs to breakfast. The servants ate in a smaller room adjacent to the Great Hall. Breakfast was sometimes the only meal they got, unless they were lucky enough to have a student who looked after them properly, and there wasn't always enough to go around, so you'd be mad to be late or miss it altogether.
They all noticed the men in official Ministry robes wandering around the Entrance Hall, but were suprised to find that when they entered the room, there were still more men in there, watching them. Exchanging worried glances, they ate in silence. Neville ate quickly, wanting to get up to Malfoy's room to make the bed and stoke the fire - he'd be damned if Malfoy decided to loan him to Rosier during his recovery - but one of the Ministry men lifted his wand at his threateningly. "Stay," the man muttered. "No one leaves," he added, looking around at the rest of them.
Neville sat, feeling his heart skip a beat, and exchanged worried glances with his friends. They waited with very little conversation, as more people filtered in, brought from their students' rooms, but no one gave them any more information on what was going on.
