Okay, guys, it's been a week since this post and we have four players who have not yet responded. I've sent them an email. If they do not reply to the email within a week or reply stating they no longer wish to continue with the RP, they will be dropped and back open for applications.

Are there any active characters currently meandering around the southern shores of Toluca Lake? Mary and Henry are going to be James Hunting and the first place she would check is the Lakeview Hotel on the North shore.

In the case that there is someone would like to do a scene South, they can opt to walk around the lake so that they can bump into each other. If not, they could find a boat? Would anyone be interested in meeting up at the hotel?

I was also thinking that the room might have a monster, or maybe the tape could play again. But either way, I'm sure we can incorporate any event that comes up in the mean time. ^^

First off, let my start this post by saying: "Sorry I suck".

Because I totally do. Aaaaaand so does Kas!mod. :D

See, here's the thing: I can make excuses all I want, but it won't change the fact that I kinda left you guys to flounder. But, hey! At least that's in-character for Vincent! Amirite?

If you want excuses though, here they are: I went to KY for Christmas, then it was my sister's birthday, then I went overseas to China for a week and got really sick (very much related) and they changed my schedule at work and now I'm job-hunting and and and and and

It seems like everyone has been really busy, though, so OBVIOUSLY I'm not going to get onto anyone specific for inactivity... because uh, then I would have to boot myself, and then where would we be!?

SO, THAT BEING SAID

Let's go, guys! Let's get in gear and post post post!

First off, let me do a little bit of a poll:
How many of you are currently in some kind of event with your character?
How many of you were waiting for something to do with your character?

The reason I ask is because I'm thinking about a way to kind of "jump start" everyone, to have a "big event" happen in town that would get threads and plots going. Perhaps a sudden overload of monsters, a weird storm, something of the like happening in Silent Hill. Yes? No? Stupidest Idea You've Ever Heard? Bueller?

So uh yeah that's all I got right now. I promise I am going to be ON TOP OF THINGS, as I now run off to update the player contact list and then I'll work on places and advertising and put up Vincent's inventory and all that. Yes.

Please comment to this entry stating you read the entry and still intend to play in this game. Any character who has not commented within one week of posting will be emailed directly, and any character who does not reply to that email within one week will be dropped.

That said, things are steadily settling back into normal and I'm looking forward to RPing with you all real soon. Later! :)

Apologies all around, esp. to bittersea, for being absent a little longer than I meant to; I've been ill but trying to get better for the past three weeks. After the first week or so of that, it was really taking a toll on me- didn't have much energy leftover from work to do anything but sleep. Seems I'm on the mend now so I hope to be back to posting rp-side stuff soon. See you all there.

Okay, so first of all, I owe you all an apology. Work has left me a rather absentee mod, and for that, I'm really sorry.

I've been looking over everyone's awakenings tonight - they're all very good. I'm very excited and happy to find that I'm helping to mod a place that I think has the potential to be one of the best Silent Hill RPs out there. You're all amazing writers and I look forward to playing with all of you.

That being said, I want to remind you all of a few things:

1) If you want monsters in your posts, it's okay to use them as long as they're not major monsters (Pyramid Head, etc) without mod approval.
2) If you want someone else to play the monsters, please leave a comment here (I'll get a more official place for you all to comment eventually.) and we'll be sure to jump in with one!
3) If your threads are open for interaction, please mark them that way so others know that it's cool to jump in!
4) You don't have to have approval to post any number of open threads in the main community. Go to town, have fun!

Thank you so much, all of you, for adding Inventory posts. Those are going to help immensely. Please remember that it's okay to make your character find their own items, as long as it's not something unreasonable.

I'll be trying to get Walter to run into someone here, soon. It should be fun. I'm giddy with the anticipation.

Also, I wanted to wish you all a happy holiday - whatever you celebrate(d) this year!

Lastly: anyone who has any images or places they'd like to have added to the locations post, any items they want added to silent_items, or any images of monsters to contribute to silent_npcs, please don't hesitate. You can comment here, on one of those journals or shoot us an email.

I should have her awakening up sometime within the next few days (I'm still recovering from the whirlwind of exams); I just want to add a bit more to it so she can definitely run into someone/be able to jump into another thread, if that's allowed.

Hi all! I'm Kaen and I've picked up my Mary muse, as Em-mod has pointed out. I might be a little awkward with IJ for a bit, so if posts appear in random places, please excuse me as I fix them. I should be able to write for her awakening by around Monday at the latest while I finish up the semester. ^^

Just wanted to say hi, and let you all know that a spark of inspiration (and also, uh, the recent announcement) are kicking me in the pants to start things up here for Henry, so I'm looking to finish his awakening within the next 24 hours. I've been a little slim on writing time since I joined up and I know I'm likely to run a bit verbose on the opener, too. XD But writing will be easier once we get into the real back-and-forth of interaction and I'm really looking forward to it. See you all IC soon.

We have plenty of members now to see some awesome activity. So everyone get out there and start posting! If you don't want to start a post of your own (it IS mandatory to have an awakening post, I remind you), we have Harry with an open awakening here, and Angela with an awakening that could easily be jumped into over here.

And let's take a quick shout-out to our new members! Everyone might want to check out the friends add list here to say hi to Harry (_mason), Maria (ladymaria), and Mary (bitter_sea)! Looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of you, James. ♥

So go on! Get out there and post your awakenings and start some RP!

I'm Nico and I'll be joining you with the ever so lovely (or ... not) Maria, aaaand ... can you tell I've never been good at introductions? Either way, as far as random info goes, I'm a student and might be a little less than fully active until Thursday, because school happens to be pretty good at tripping me over and stomping on me, but afterwards I'll be the usual procrastinator with way too much time on my hands! Yay, I guess. Speaking of time, I'm stuck in GMT +1, so I might be a little scarce when it comes to doing AIM scenes.
But fear not, for my sleep rhythm is off and hell, you'll probably see me around a lot, either way.

Alas, looking forward to meeting and playing with you all!

I was made aware of my work schedule for the next two weeks and not only will I be working slightly longer hours than usual but I will only be getting one day off per week which means until the silly season is over the majority of my posting, commenting and general RPing maybe limited to Sundays (my day off), though hopefully I won't be too knackered from work that I will be able to do something on random week days as well. In the meantime, I have started on my awakening and I will have that completed and posted by Sunday or else sometime during the week. :)

Just so everyone's aware, the game is up and running. There are still places under construction (ie: the locations index), but consider the game operational. Please feel free to start open threads with people here (Post an opening thread, mark it as open, and other players feel free to respond.) Anyone who wants to RP via AIM with each other, that's fine too, just make sure you post completed threads in the silentafterlife community.

One of us should be putting up an open log tonight, and when we finish with this game (Playing 2 again...yeah, together. What of it?), we'll be around for logging most of the night (probably until around 2 am or so.) We have an event on Saturday, but other than that, I have no plans so if I'm around, feel free to bother me. I'll try to be on AIM sometime this weekend. I need to make a new character IM or something since I'm AIM-avoidant and don't like to be on mine pretty much ever.

This is where your in game found-items will be coming from. With common sense, feel free to use items as needed, hunt for them and procure them on your own. It's part of survival here in Silent Hill.

Also expect that occasionally, within your threads or posts, items may appear from time to time. This was the easiest way to index items. They may also come from the NPC journal. Depends if mods are too lazy to jump between journals. XD

Some items are obviously big plot items (The Book of Crimson Ceremony) and you're not just going to find that laying around, so please don't claim that you have. If we want it (or a similar item) used (or if you have a plot idea that you've cleared with the mods) you'll find it when you need it.

Please do not use this as an exhaustive list - this is just what we've gotten around to making icons of. If you want to help or have some to contribute (monster icons are also welcome) just let us know and we'd be happy to add them.

As has been mentioned - monsters are puppetable in your posts without mod approval within reason as well. Don't try to pilot Pyramid Head or something, please. But if you want to have a generic monster pop out and you don't want to bother waiting for a mod, or just want it in your post, feel free.

If you have plot ideas, don't hesitate to run them by us. We're flexible and, at this point, beyond the basic premise, we don't have a huge plot laid out just yet. Don't hesitate to make your own sub-plots. We're working on something, but it might take some time to get implemented. Definitely once we're more active we'll be trying to get some plots going.

Hey, all.
Walter's player here. I'm one of your mods, and I'd just like to say welcome. I'm looking forward to playing with all of you. Some of you I've played with before, and can't wait to get a chance to again, others are new, and that's going to be fun too.

It looks like things are already getting started, so I'm not going to bother waiting around. I've gotten my awakening up (Sorry, I did decide to keep it closed, but Walter'll tag someone eventually. Trust me. >D) and I see others have too, so that's great.

Keep in mind that the activity minimum is once every two weeks and this doesn't just mean entries in your character's journals.

Speaking of journals, we haven't really discussed how we're going to facilitate them. I'm all for them being public for others to find/read (unless people are filter out of them or it's locked private to the character - those of you familiar with journal-style RP know how this works; anyone who doesn't feel free to ask.) but I'm not sure how we're doing these.

What do you guys think? I'm open to feedback.
